Hi again, sorry for the flurry of recent posts, I'm filing my i-130 day after tomorrow. I'm going to write an evolution of relationship letter because the evidence I have to prove that it's a bonafide marriage consists of mainly pictures, train tickets, two affidavits from my family members, and our baby's ultrasound. We won't have the writing under the ultrasound translated, but it will be attached to a post on Facebook that I made with the same pictures announcing that I was going to have a baby, which I'm hoping is sufficient. I'm wondering where to put the letter within the order of the packet? Does the order really matter? I assume it would go with the evidence I will include. Thanks!

I was separated from my previous wife for more than two years while I lived in China. I met someone in GZ before I recently returned to the US to complete my divorce. After that I returned to China to be with her. Now, regarding the requirement of having met face to face within two-years of filing, is it okay to say we met before my divorce was complete, or should I simply state we met after I returned to China?

I was married to a chinese woman but after she recieved the green card everything thing change and we went our seperate ways. That was about a year and a half ago. In the mean time, I had a language exchange pen pal that I made friends with back in 2008. Only chatted a few times a month, nothing major. But now we became more then just friends. The relationship has grown stronger for about a year now and she was a lot of support after my divorce. I've been to China twice (Sept, 2013 for 3 weeks and Feb, 2014 for 2 weeks) to see her and even though she really would like if I moved there, I told her with my investment properties it won't be that easy so I said she could come here on the K-1 Visa. She worries about a couple of things. One being that we were friends when I was still married so she thinks the VO will think she was the cause of the divorce. The other is that since the marriage was so short (ending right after my ex received the 10 GC) she will worry the VO will think I'm marrying a 2nd chinese woman to do the same thing. I told her enough time had passed. All my papers are almost ready to be sent but she just wants to make sure we are not going to waste or time and money waiting to find out that she will just get the blue slip when that time comes. Has any other member here been married to a chinese woman only to divorce and then want to petition another woman from china or any other country about a year and a half later? Thanks

Thanks for the helping hands in this Forum, I am getting all paper work ready for file the I-130 for my wife and two month old baby. One last thing I am working on is the EOR letter. I have several questions: Is it better to include it in the original I-130 or bring it to the interview? From other posts dnoublett recommended, it seems a letter explain the previous divorce is also a good idea. Should I write a separate letter for the divorce or include it as a part of the EOR? A lot of people recommend to have it notarized at embassy. I am in US right now, if I notarized the letter in US now, will it still valid to the VO in China and almost a year later?

Hi folks, I'm sure this has been covered before, but it bears repeating: we did a spousal visa, and I don't remember anywhere that the EOR letter was required for that. However, after reading here over and over, I decided (rather late in the game) to write one (still thinking it wasn't necessary). I got it notarized at the Guangzhou Embassy the day before document intake. During her interview, it never came up and the VO did not ask for it. However, we had met a couple who had been denied a fiancee visa two years ago, then married and were refiling as spousal. They were refused again. Who knows their exact circumstances outside of themselves and the VO, but the Chinese wife told my wife that the reason they were denied this time was because there was no written EOR. I don't know if this is really why they were refused, but I do think that if the EOR is required for spousal visa, that should be listed as required somewhere. If it is and I just missed it, then my bad. At any rate, I suggest that everyone have an EOR.

Ok, we've fought hard and now we have another day in court. I have a two week trip already planned from 9/1-9/14. It's pretty much in stone since I used up my vaction time on back surgeries earlier this year. So these are the days.... I cannot stay in GZ until 9/21... There isn't any way for me to be present for her interview. I can however take her for her medical examination etc... What do you think of going to the Consulate and at least introducing myself and explain I was already booked to leave China on the 12th to return to my job when we received the ill-timed notice. I wish they kept us more in the loop. Is it enough that I was there a few days before her interview?????? Anyway... were HAPPY. We just want everything to go better than the first time... Any Candle friends got two cents you wanta chunk in?

Tomorrow is our big day for interview. I will do a full write up when we finish up. Do most people write a new or updated EOR for the interview? or does all evidence need to be collected by the fiance (different from petition submission)? -We have evidence of continued relationship but also all the info from the petition, including the letter. Just wondering if I need to pull a late night and finish writing a new one... Also, I found many cases of people flying to US POE from Hong Kong. Has anyone taken a train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong? US Citizens are okay. Chinese citizens are allowed visa waiver for transitting Hong Kong, but no word of actually where/how a waiver is received. Also some varying stories online about limited 24 hours in the confines of the airport vs. train/taxi in Hong Kong to the airport? Hopefully booking tickets this week!

Hi All - I'm mostly active on the VisaJourney website but wanted to post here to get some opinions. We already filed our K1 in November 2010 so we dont have much of an opportunity to change anything in the petition, however for the P3 and P4 I have the following concern. My divorce was finalized on November 16, 2010 and we filed the K1 11 days later on Nov 27. The basic story behind this is as follows: JoAnne and I have been seeing each other since March 2006. I moved to China in July 2008 and lived there until March 2010. In May 2010, my wife and I filed for divorce and in California there is a six month waiting period. The Divorce was final on November 16, 2010. I was contemplating using the services of a lawyer but at this point everything has been handled on our own. The question for anyone with expertise or experience here is this: Is there any thing that I should prepare in writing that describes the events and what questions related to this should JoAnne be prepared to answer during her interview at GUZ? i.e. how can I minimize this fact from becoming an issue? My wife got the blue slip yesterday. I was not able to be there for the interview. Two issues were noted on the blue slip. First was the fact that my income level was insufficient, (between jobs now,... got laid off) and VO also wanted to know how I was able to go to China 3 times in 1 year with such low income. The second was to explain in detail about my ex-wife,.. how we met,.. etc,.. etc. I had included a letter about the ex for the interview but apparently the VO didn't bother to read it. What can I do at this time about my income while looking for a better paying job? Not a big demand for graphic designers in a small city. Any help would be much appreciated or better still a better job would solve everything. A BFA degree with 20 years experience didn't do much for me but I believe this phase will soon pass and all will be well again.

Now that its getting close to our interview time, i think i've all but perfected my EOR letter in my eyes. However, my eyes arn't the ones that will scrutinize our case. So here i am looking to second opinions on my EOR letter. But first, a little history: We interviewed in August for a tourist visa for my fiancee in Beijing. It was denied, albeit my grandfather (90), who is like a father to me, was in the hospital for pneumonia..... That day i provided her with an invitation letter i wrote up myself. From what i hear, it didn't impress. Anyway, since the very beginning i have been working on my EOR letter, updating it- editing it- tearing it down and starting over again- as time passed and situations changed. I have two (2) EOR drafts. One is clearly superior to the other, and i intend to use it. I stopped using/editing the other some months ago. I just want to provide it so everyone can see more options i had considered earlier for an EOR letter. I feel an EOR letter is very important to our case, especially as we didnt front load our I-129F. I constantly feel that the biggest problem with our EOR is that there's sooo much i want to say but only 1 page to say it in. So, any thoughts/feedback? Here's the one im using (minus bolds, underlining and italics): And for reference/ my older ideas, my old EOR draft: Thanks for the help! I know i have a bad habit of writing letters that sound like music to my ears, but often can appear quite mediocre or even aggressive to others.

I just finished my Updated EOR letter. Do I mail it to them now? I think if she just gives it to them at the interview it wont help. I mean is the VO going to take the 2-3 minutes to read the letter then? Can I mail it to GUZ now with the case file on it? Or can I submit the letter at the ACH the monday befor the interview? Any advise?

can someone tell me what EOR letter is and is is necessary for interview??

Hi all I have been reading post about some people getting a blue slip asking them to explain why they got a divorce from there past wife. So I thought I would be proactive and take one with me to give to Hui when I am in China. Please take a look at it and see if yuo think I have answered any questions they may have. Hello my name is Robert H and I am writing this letter incase you have any questions about my previous marriage and why it ended in Divorce. I was married for 17 years to Gladys H. We seperated in March of 2008 and our Divorce was final in late October of 2008. Our Divorce went as well as any Divorce can and we remain on Friendly terms to this day. We Divorced because we essentialy just grew apart and found we no longer had anything in common other then our children. We would argue about silly little things and both of us grew tired of it. For us Divorce was the best course of action. Is that ok or should I expand on anything? I can even get my Ex-wife to write up something like it if I need to we are on good terms. Robert

Although I have returned to America to visit friends and family, I have been living and working in China since AUG 2004. During that time, I developed a relationship with Chinese native, and in Sept 2006, we were married. This past week, Jingjing and I went to Beijing to submit her I-130, which will be forwarded to Guangzhou. I have been reading a lot of posts saying that we should have a EOR letter, when we go to Guangzhou, for the interview. Although I do not know when the interview will take place, I have begun developing our EOR letter. Would anyone be willing to review what I have written? I admit, that I do not "know it all" and would probably benefit greatly by those who have already been though it. On a side note, this site rocks. There is a wealth of information here. Anyway, thanks for reading this. Kyle

Shailesh Saoji. To The Consular Officer US Consulate, Guangzhou, China Evolution of Relationship I have not had a relationship with my ex wife since 2004 and we finalized our divorce in 2008. I came across HuiFen in October of 2008 and eventually started corresponding with her on a daily basis, first by email and then by phone. Having my own business makes it very difficult for me to take multiple days off but fortunately Thanksgiving was just around the corner and I decided to go and meet her in person We met in Hong Kong in November of 2008 and the more I got to know her the more I realized this was the right thing to do. I am not the kind of person who will procrastinate, if something feels right I just do it. I applied for a Chinese visa in Hong Kong and Thanksgiving Day went to Guangzhou to meet with her family. This was also her first time out of China so while in Hong Kong we did the typical tourist things. Our first evening there we went to Café Deco for dinner which has the best view of HK harbor; we also went to Disney and to Madam Tussaud's. She had never had anything other then Chinese food so I introduced her to Indian food and Mexican food. We talk to each other every day for hours as is evident with my phone bills and for the past few months we have been using QQ video. I went back to see her, in July 2009 . We spent most of our time in her home town of ZengCheng visiting her family, friends and workplace. We also spent a few evenings in Guangzhou and had dinner at “Vaastu” an Indian restaurant which claims to be the biggest Indian restaurant outside of India and Milanos as she had never had Italian food. I also bought her down to our consulate so she would know where she needs to go for her interview. Shailesh Saoji Any suggestions? I am too good at writing stuff

Hi everyone, My fiance has an interview next week, I have been in ACH/ACH just certified my letter of intent. Do I need a letter of evolution for K-1 petition? Thanks! {edit} changed evaluation to evolution.
