  1. Have spoken to NVC 4 times now. They say to go to ustraveldocs.com, login and then go to APPLICANT PROFILE and go through Step 3 to Step 7. I'm trying to set up the passport pickup location for my wife's daughter's passport/visa after the interview. Any help? Tired of calling NVC as they just tell me the same thing each time. When I go in here it doesn't say APPLICANT PROFILE anyplace!!
  2. Hello, My fiancee's visa has advanced to the state where she needs to send her passport to receive the visa. The P5 instructions say to update the Document Delivery Address via the ustraveldocs website. I have tried every which way, but no matter what I do when we login, there is no way to see or update this address. Does anyone know how to do this? Must I call them on the phone for help? Thanks -scovitz
  3. The new and non-intuitive ustraveldocs website was intended to help visa petitioners and beneficiaries with the immigration process, but in my opinion it's created a whole new set of problems. These problems are created by a few factors, with the most dominant being a lack of clear instruction on how to use the site. Typically, a good website will have step by step instructions that include examples of how to complete a form and provide all the various senarios. That website however doesn't have diddly squat in that regard, and what's there is misleading. This is a major issue as providing incorrect information or unintentionally omitting it can cause serious problems and delays. Case in point, the entry for K1 and K2. Once you're lucky enough to navigate to the K visa entry area, it's quite confusing that K1 and K2 have separate radio buttons on the initial screens. However, if you select K1 and make your way to step 6, you are provided the option of adding a dependent child. I did that and all looked well. But, then what's the K2 radio button for? Why is only one $240 USD fee shown when both K1 and K2 will receive visas? So, I tried logging in and selecting K2 and entering that information. Then, saved it. However, after logging back in I noticed that the K1 entry information had been overwritten. http://i59.tinypic.com/2d8409k.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/359x1xt.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/e6tvmg.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/b6zl0h.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/23shzes.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/2ex9dtd.jpg
  4. Hi I am on cgi website now. First of all, my case status has been updated again yesterday but neither my attorney nor I received the P4 from GUZ IV Unit. However, I am able to log onto the interview scheduling page since yesterday afternoon. Anyone know what's going on? Am I going to get the P4 in EMS instead of email? Now I am facing a prob. I am looking forwards to an interview date next week. Currently the earliest date available is June 22. This morning when I log on to cgi, the page tells me I am reaching the maximal page viewing and I HAVE to finish the interview scheduling during THIS session. So I suppose my account might be temporarily locked for certain amount of time? And do you think on Thursday (today, china time), is it likely new appointment dates would be available? Any advice is much appreciated. Timeline of my case: E1 SENT TO GUZ MARCH GUZ RECEIVED MAY 1ST AP MAY 20TH 2ND AP MAY 21TH 3RD AP MAY 28TH 4TH AP JUN 11TH
  5. My Wife and I have been going through the process to obtain a CR-1 visa so she can come to be with me in the US. We have passed through the Homeland Security abd NVC and the file was sent to the Embassy in Guangzhou last September. In December, we received an email from the embassy stating they were ready to process our application but we had to register on a new website. The purpose - apart from adding another confusing step (Government websites are the pits!!!) - seemed to be to provide an address for the embassy to send documentation. It wasn't clear if we should schedule an interview before the famous package would be sent to my Wife or after she receives it. It has now been 3 months and no package received and the guy at the official drop off collection is saying we should have an interview first!!! This doesn't seem to make any sense and we are wondering if anyone has had experience of the way that this part of the process works. We've been married over 2 years now and we want to be together!!!
  6. So we heard from GUZ today with the case number directing us (actually, directing Chinese National Husband) to go online and complete the DS-260 at https://ceac.state.gov/IV I thought I would get it started for CNH, but something weird is happening. When I log in to the site above, first I get a screen that says: "The next step in the immigration process is for each applicant to complete online form DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application. The DS-260 is designed to collect information that is necessary to adjudicate your immigrant visa application. The DS-260 form may be partially completed, saved online, and finished later, or may be completed all in one session. Before starting the form, applicants should gather the 'Documents The Applicant Must Submit' because they are needed to complete the DS-260 form. To begin the DS-260, please click on the Start link below. Please note that the DS-260 can only be completed after the applicant's Immigrant Visa Fee has been paid." Ok, sounds good. But how do I pay the fee? Not sure. So I go ahead and click the "Start" link, as instructed. Then I get a screen that looks like this: Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) Application List for IV Case GUZ...(his case number) The NVC has received notification that the applicant will join the principal applicant at a later date. Given Name Surname Relationship Fee Status CNH's first and family name PRINCIPAL NOT APPLICABLE NOT AVAILABLE From this is screen, there is no way to move forward with the application that I can see... just a "Cancel" button at the bottom of the screen! I'm so confused. My spouse IS the principal applicant and there are no other family member, kids, etc. attached to this application. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or what this might mean? Thanks in advance, D
  7. Hey everyone, I've run into an unexpected confusion with the DS-230. I've searched and browsed all over this site, the GUZ embassy site, VJ, and Google, but haven't seen anyone else even mention it. Is this a new/unique situation, or am I just unlucky (read: haphazard) with my searching? Here's the situation: I filed the I-130 petition at Beijing on June 4. Ten days later I received the NOA2 (petition approved) with instructions, which tell us to (quote): " ... complete and submit the Document Submission Letter [we registered at ustraveldocs, and printed the DSL] along with the above requested items at the nearest CITIC bank. If you fail to take the action requested within one year, your application will be terminated." They also give a URL for finding CITIC bank locations but just my luck the page "cannot be found." OK, so the wife and I took our documents to the CITIC closest to our apartment, and the nice lady at the front desk told us she didn't think that branch handled these (doesn't ask anyone else or check), and gives us the address and phone number of the branch closest to the embassy. Fine. Then she tells us that the Guangzhou embassy is closed, etc. (it was only after this I learned about the move). Well anyway, my wife calls the other CITIC branch to ask about the forms, and they flatly told her not to say anything specific about what forms (apparently very strictly, like knowing what forms we want to send puts them in jeopardy somehow), and said only to bring the forms in a sealed envelope. So my questions, for anyone who has done this recently or can help: Firstly, is this right? Do I need to supply the address the forms are to be sent to? Which address should I use? (Can't use the return address on the NOA, since that's the old address.) The embassy website gives this address: U.S. Consulate General / 43 Hua Jiu Road, Zhujiang New Town / Tianhe District / Guangzhou, China; and says they will be open for service again on July 23. Do you think that's a safe address to use (ensuring the forms will reach the proper people)? Of course there's nothing more specific given in our instructions. I don't want to submit our forms to the bank if they're not even sure what to do with them. Could I mail them myself (EMS)? I emailed the consulate at the beginning of the week, but I assume they're busy with the move and probably won't see it for a while. Any insight, suggestions or verification would be greatly appreciated. (Sorry for the lengthy explanation. This is quite an annoying snag in our process.)
