  1. Wahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Kim's bacl!!! Man you have missed a hell of a lot of stuff.
  2. I have talked with Jenny again-at length and have posted it in the 'reprehnsible' thread in culture and language forum.
  3. Oh, while I'm thinking about it. Will the next member Jenny contacts tell her to be sure to give me another call as I have some new information for her. Thanks, Trigg
  4. I thought I would ring this up to the front as Jenny is calling other members it may be a good idea to consolidate her messages.
  5. Actually I think it was 'Jenny' who posted it on 001. She told my wife she didn't know where to go for help so she posted it on the internet. Yea buddy, you hit it on the head, our SOs give up everything they have known to be with us. Hopefully most end up with a better life. We damned sure owe it to them to make their dreams come true. I think that is why this incedent hit us so hard. You gotta say this--001 and many other sites knew about this but CFL ran with it. Time to talk was done and time to do was now--my CFL brethren shutup and acted--Ya gotta admire the hell out of 'em for that.
  6. Innability to speak English doesn't neccesarily mean a blue slip. Communication ability is what they are looking for i.e. how do you and your SO communicate. My wife(then fiancee) spoke very little English and I speak almost no Chinese. She had no problem at the interview. She explained that we communicated using a pocket translater and interpretors etc.. I have known several who were isssued a visa who spoke no English. Others were issued a blue slip who spoke fair English. The idea is to prove a valid relationship. To do this you need to prove that you and your SO can, and do, communicate. A VCD showing the two of you can communicate is a good idea to have in the unlikley case you get a blue slip. It will likley do no good at the initial interview.
  7. that is spelled sikolojust. gheeeezz, asking my how to spell something--duhhhhhhhhh!
  8. That is a definate possiblity Carl---more later
  9. Yea Don, I'll pass on any new info as soon as I get it.
  10. Ok, where to begin. 'Jenny' called me in response to a call I made to " A safe place" last week. John had discovered some interesting information about her husbands finances, including some disability money he collects from the VA-an area I am very familiar with. I talked with Don and he told me how she can remain in the US with an 'abused spouse waiver. Then Bruce filled me in on the rest of the details. So I made a simple phone call and explained everything to Michelle at Safe Place. I left all the info I had and my name and number-Today 'Jenny' called me. Our conversation was cut short as I had to leave and was already late. She said she is doing fine, still in the shelter but hopes to have a house to live in soon. She hasn't received any money yet and was not aware of the 'Jenny fund' except for what I had told safe Place. I explained it to her and told her approximately how much etc... She was more interested in knowing who and why than when and how much, Very nice woman-great English skills. 'Jenny', (she now calls herself that-it is not her real name though) was amazed that so many people want to help a stranger. She was very excited about this. She told me several times how everyone has been helping her and how grateful she is. She has talked with an immigration attorney (don's idea) and will be able to stay in the USA and get a green card-this made her very happy. Jenny did share some personal things about the situation with me but I was rushed and forgot to ask her if it was ok for me to share these with the group. I will say that there will be a long healing process but I am confident that Jennies positive attitude and caring nature will carry her and her daughter through this thing. I have to tell you that most who know me think I am a pretty tough guy-myself included-but to hear her enthusiasm and gratitude brought tears to my face--her and I cried together-it was a great feeling that I hope you can all share in. My wife said Jenny is a very very bright woman. My wife doesn't impress easily but was very impressed with Jenny. Once again Jenny told Fang Ling to thank everyone involved and that she thinks Americans are wonderful people. They discussed her husband and future plans. Jenny told my wife that she is good with computers and asked how she could contact the group. My wife isn't good with computers and I had to take my daughter to gymnastics so Jenny said she would call back to get the web address from me. There are several more details but I really need to talk with her again to make sure it's ok for me to post publicly. You all can be sure of one thing. YOU HAVE MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. She expressed thanks to all several times and now thinks, with all the love she has gotten from everyone, she will have a good life for her and her daughter. I'll post more later as info comes in and after I speak with her again. As many of you would probably like to email or talk with Jenny and 'A safe place' couldn't and wouldn't direct the calls and this may be somewhat overwhelming to 'Jenny', feel free to email me or give me your number and I'll pass it on to her if and when she calls me again. Big thanks to Bruce and John and Don and all of you. I for one am damned proud to be a member of group who will do and give so much and ask nothing in return--Hell, I'm even proud if the republicans in the site-kinda Trigg

  16. Well JP, good news for you-she has visa in hand. Sooooo, what that means to you is whatever you have had in your hand lately had best change!!!! Drop that bag of cheetos and walk away slowly. 17. WAHOooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I know you were never really worried anyway. congrats!
  18. 1) A trip to the civil surgeon is not neccessary before filing AOS. K1 will need supplemental I-163 at time of AOS interview. 2) You can mail all paperwork--some center have stopped habd deliveries. 3) you can file EAD with AOS-but not before 4) SSN can be gotten before or after marriage. The I-94 essentialy is the same as EAD for SSN purpose for roughly 75 days after she entered the US. Afteer that you will need EAD to obtainSSN. Waiting until after your married makes it easier to make a name change.
  19. Thanks Carl, just wonderin'. I figured he was moving. Hmmm, moving??? Good Idea. I think I'll make a major move today--from the computer to the couch for a football game.
  20. I have always been under the Impression that is is neccessary. When I went through the process I used an attorney and he had us get certified translated copies of all important documents. e.g birth certs, marriage and divorce cert etc... But i dunno for sure ??
  21. Wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! Now the worm has turned. Life will never be the same again. Congrats Trigg
  22. yeah... a K-9 visa... lol  A K-9 visa--Oh JP-do you realize how you have opened the flood gates for a Jason PUPPY Joke--but I ain't gonna say--nope not me-I ain't gonna, ain't uh uh, no, nope nada, bu, bu sing---NONONONO!!
  23. Same thing happpend to me. It is not a problem. They often go beyond the date on the 129-f. GZ will automatically extend this whether you ask them to or not. Best way to cover your ass is to email GZ explaining. Then keep copy of the email. like i said it really isn't a problem even if you do nothing. Trigg
