  1. I'm sorry, but I don't know how to get an "EMS" tracking number? Can anyone help? Sorry for the dumb question, thanks! EMS is an international postal Express Mail Service offered by postal-administration members of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The UPU, a specialized agency of the United Nations, promotes the harmonization of postal services worldwide. They have a website, wherein you can enter the tracking number to check on the status of a given item. The EMS number is generated and a receipt provided, at the time the item is mailed/entered into the system, by the client. For us, it was P-3 received on the 14th, returned on the 15th, EMS delivery confirmation at Shamian Is. on the 16th, and then P-3 processed by GUZ on the 30th of the month, 14 days in processing. Oh, I see, thanks

  3. I was reading some posts and I came across someone saying that the financials (I-134 etc.) can be too old at the interview, in which case you have to do them again. So my question is: how far ahead is too far ahead? Does anyone know the cutoff? Thanks,
  4. I'm going to apply for a multi- VISA next week, how did you guys get it? Did you have to get hotel and flight itineraries? And if so, did you get more than one to get a multi? Thanks, unfortunately I'm not in a state that has a consulate so I have to send mine in with an agency. But I would appreciate any tips that I could get it would help me out a TON!!! Thanks
  5. Also, I was wondering about the "employment letter." Obviously he can't get that but I was wondering if there is anyone out there who had these circumstances when they went to the interview and passed/failed? Thanks.
  6. You need proof of income. It seems like you're saying that the tax return includes it in the Adjusted Gross Income. If you have 1099's, and/or check stubs, or any kind of statement (deposit slips or bank statements) to show the deposit, that's additional proof. If your provable income is above the 125%, you're fine. It wouldn't hurt to have all 3 years available. With the I-184, what they ask for varies - sometimes they don't look at it at all. Thanks Randy, But I'm sorry, I should say that I'm filling out a I-134 (is it the same 3-year requirement?) But are you saying that I need deposit slips or something from 2007? I'm fairly certain I don't have them, my bank letter (that shows deposits for the last year) shows that I deposited more than 125% the poverty line, would that count or not?
  7. Alright then maybe I should ask this: 1- My income was just above the 125% poverty line ($18,140) but some of that is from income that isn't on a W2. Some of it was from when I worked in China, I put it on my tax return but I never had any W2s from China. But my other two years were fine. Will that work? 2- Alternately, I have another sponsor (sister) who is not retired, whom I'd rather use as a sponsor, from 2006 and 2007 her income was fine, but her income in 2005 was too low. So: Do I need all three years of co-sponsors income taxes etc? Thanks so much for your help one-and-all
  8. I had a couple of questions about co-sponsors 1- My co-sponsors are married (my parents) and file taxes jointly, so do they both have to fill out I-134s that are exactly the same? 2- My parents are retired, so would that work as a co-sponsor? Because he can't get a letter from his former-employer and his W2s (as well as my moms) are all from retirement income. Thanks, I know there have been similar questions, but nothing I could find with clear answers.
  9. I just got mine today too! Nov 27->May 14! Finally! But it does feel good that I didn't mess up on the paperwork and it's finally off to New York.
  10. Right, that's true, so what evidence can I produce? When you think about it there's really not much. A lawyer suggested an affidavait, but what proof is that? And it's not like you can have people sign a petition that says "I threatened her life"
  11. I am wondering if anyone has ever tried to expedite under the : "Extreme emergent situation" criteria that the USCIS put out: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0000ecd190aRCRD Without getting into details, has anyone dealt with death threats or government (communist) backlash against their SO?
  12. I taught English in China for 6 months (that why I met my SO) and I set up the job before I went via directly contacting the university. However, they did want my Bachelors degree certificate first. That being said, there were people teaching there who didn't have one, buuuut, it wasn't "legal". Anyway I went over on a tourist and they changed it once I got there.
  13. What city are you in, if you're in a city over a million you should be able to at least find mentholatum, usually they are in big supermarket-department stores. Well, I hope you get better.
  14. I also forgot to ask do they use your Net or Gross income from the tax sheet? (I know this is probably answered somewhere, but I can't find it for the life of me)
  15. Right, that's a good point, I'll just keep it simple so the VO doesn't have to go through piles of papers.
