I have a question about taxes. I just got my W2 from work. My wife doesn’t work, she is a Chinese citizen here in Tennessee. We will file a 1040 form? We will file jointly. Her last name is different than mine is this going to cause problems? Will they recognize her as my wife? She has a green card and a social security card. Thank you I hope I have made this clear. Let try to explain a little better. We have the Cr1 visa right now. We have her green card and social security card. We came to the United States in late October 2017. I think we need to change from Cr1 to Ir1 three months before our second anniversary. Our second anniversary is December 15, 2018. Which forms do we need to fill out? My wife received a white piece of paper saying her visa is approved. We got her visa done in three months. April to July. We could have had it done quicker but we had to wait for her summer holiday. I was not allowed inside because I didn't have an appointment. The woman taking the documents didn't take the resume my wife prepared or our relationship letter. But I would still prepare these to be safe. The man that interviewed her didn't even look at our pictures. Again I would still have them to be safe.

My and I will be going to her Interview on Monday. Can we get my wife's passport back after two days if we wait for it? Another question is about the medical exam. They gave my wife two shots and told her she needs to get the second dosage in four weeks. Does she have to get the shots in Guangzhou? We will be leaving Guangzhou next week. We don't want to have to go back to Guangzhou if we don't have to? We will be going to the United States in October or so. Thank you

My wife and I had her medical exam done today, July third. Be sure and fill out the two forms from the Guangzhou medical exam website and email them to the medical exam center. Also print these forms out and print out the medical exam reply email because they couldn't find the reply email that they replied to my wife. Also be sure to print out the email that the consulate confirms your interview appointment. We got to the medical exam center before seven thirty in the morning. We were the sixth one thru the door. So be sure to get there early.

I-864 question Current annual income My wife and I will be going to Guangzhou in July for her interview. I will be turning in my I-864 form. I have been in China since August 2016. I have been unemployed since August 2016. Would just put down what my W2 and tax transcript says for 2016? I think I would? Thank you

My father got his tax transcripts for 2016, 2015, and 2014. On page 5 Part 6. item number 2. My current individual annual income is. My father and mother jointly file taxes together. Would my father put down where it says income Wages, Salaries, Tips, Etc? It goes on to say total income. Then it says adjusted gross income. I think this is what he should put down. This would be for 2016. Also does this mean my father needs to fill out an I-864a Form between my mother and his self? On page 6 Part 6. Item 19.a. 19.b. 19.c. I think he should just put down the amounts the tax transcripts show as adjusted gross income? Thank you

Thank you for your help My father is going to be my joint sponsor for my wife. My wife is Chinese. My wife brought up a good question about I-864a. She thinks the form is a contract between myself and my father. So the sponsor would be myself and the household member would be my father? Would the roles be reversed when we fill out our I-864a forms? On my I-864a form I'm the household member and my father is the sponsor. On my father's I-864a form I am the sponsor and my father is the household member. Am I thinking correctly? Thank you for your help.

I think this is the next step for us? DS-260 email I went submitted the DS-260 last night. I registered at the link to setup an address for a Citic bank. I think I can just go to the bank I selected tomorrow and send Guangzhou the confirmation page, the email telling us to fill out DS-260, two cover letters, two passport photos of my wife, and my wife's passport page. I think this is the next step for us? Is there anything else I need to send at this time? Thank you
