Hello again everyone. Hope all is well. I have had job interviews with a rather large international (US based) corporation, and they want to potentially send me back overseas for a period of 9-18 months. What does this mean for my wife who has had her greencard for only 1 year? I know they have the re-entry permit that you can apply for but what is the process and how would this time overseas affect us when getting down to applying for AOS? Thanks, Nathan&Min

My wife entered at the POE this past week, I have some family in Mexico that we would like to go visit, and was wondering, her passport was stamped with a regular entry stamp (blue in color) and the officer wrote IR-1 and signed under that. This is proof of status when it comes to coming back into the US after entering Mexico? We want to be sure she can come back, we are just going for 1 night 2 days to Mexico. Thanks Nathan

This is a question my wife often talk about, if in 3 years, after receiving citizenship (if she chooses to do so) will my wife (and I) still be able to purchase a home in China? We would like to have this option in the future but are concerned about giving up Chinese citizenship and it's implications in China. Working is another issue we are interested in knowing other peoples experience on, once you become a US citizen, how is working in China? Thanks, Nathan

We have visa in hand, checked CGI federal website this morning, it changed from processing delivery to visa ready for pick up this morning. We picked it up at our local citic bank, our original plan was to leave right away, but our home is in Houston so we are going to wait a couple weeks to leave in order to let things get back to normal. Thanks everyone again. It is an IR1 by the way.

We have turned in the passport to the Consulate at GUZ, we are ecstatic with how quickly our process has gone, especially with CCP on our backs. I wanted to finish up this post with our timeline, along with a last question going forward: Our timeline: May 9, 2017 - DCF Petition in GUZ May 12, 2017 - Received a letter in the mail requesting additional documents June 8, 2017 - Received email to fill in DS260 and additional documents July 03, 2017- Received email to schedule visa interview July 26, 2017- Held interview in GUZ, needed to submit paperwork for co-sponsor Aug 2, 2017 - Submitted all tax forms and other documents for co-sponsor Aug 14, 2017- Received email to turn in passport to consulate along with 2 passport photos Aug 15, 2017- Turned in passport to Citic bank in Wuhan Aug ??? 2017 - Passport in hand??? still waiting Final question is, we filed for the conditional green card 2 years, but our 2 year anniversary is July 22, 2017. We are well past that, and by the time we are going to enter the US, it will be mid-september, what documents do we present in order to receive an unconditional green card at POE? Please advise. We are forever grateful for this forum, and the help we have received through this long and crazy process, with the 2 year home residency over our heads the past 2 years, and with CCP membership being an issue as well, we thought it would have taken a lot longer to get this process done. After submitting my dads paperwork, including a heap of tax documents, W-2's and other proof of income, we have received notice to send her passport in. It really seems that the CCP issue has been overcome already?

What is the purpose of the i864a form? My sister was a dependent of my fathers last year, my mother recently passed away, so my dad is currently the only person flying solo tax and income wise. Do I need to have my sister fill out the i864a?

My wife had her interview this morning in GUZ, we had everything prepared very well. My wife is a CCP member but they didn't seem to care at all. They were mostly looking at my income, and asking if we could get a cosponsor. I have a job offer in the US for well above the requirements they need above poverty level. But it's just that, only a job offer, and I have not formally accepted it yet pending salary and benefit negotiation. They didn't think this is enough. My situation is as follows, originally I was going to have my father sponsor me, he is retired and is receiving his pension, social security, and my late mothers pension as well. He has a very sizable savings,would they generally be able to accept a retired person as a cosponsor? He is single and has no dependents. My wife got a green slip and no blue slip, they basically insinuated to my wife that as soon as she had cosponsorship that she would be able to get her visa. Hello again, We got the email to fill out the DS260 on June the 8th. To this day (June 20th) we are unable to pick a delivery address with Citic bank on US Travel Docs... it still says, The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found. I emailed the consulate and US Travel Docs, waiting for a reply, is this normal? 12 days?

Here's a hypothetical: My company is pushing me to move to the United States for my job in our new US office in the Bay Area. They have paid for my wife to be with me. I technically am still working legally in China until September. If my wife were to be in the USA with me after her interview at GUZ, (she has CCP issue) until they ask for her passport and then come back, will this cause any issues with the process or will we have to be separated during this time? Hello everyone, We applied for our DCF about a month ago, and we received the news of filling out the DS260 and passport copy, photos, etc yesterday night. We received unfortunate news of my mothers passing and rushed here (Texas) from China to attend my mothers funeral, and we will not be able to return to China until July due to I have business here. Will someone be able to turn in these documents through CITIC Bank on behalf of us in China? They have all of the documents already. Please advise Nathan

Three days later, and we got an EMS from the consulate asking for a copy of our original marriage certificate. They just a copy, no need to turn in the originals, is that correct? Thanks! Nathan

They may ask to see the red book marriage certificate. But there is no reason why they would keep the passport - until they are ready to put a visa in it. About 15 minutes after leaving, they literally called me and told me to come back to pick it up, as they forgot to return it to me. Oh well.

Its been a long time coming and its a relief to get this process going. Here's my questions about the process: On a lot of the checklists it doesn't mention the marriage certificate itself needs to be brought to the application. I didn't bring it foolishly and he asked if I had it. He said I may need to add it later if asked. Is this normal? I had the white book and thought that was enough. Secondly they took and kept my wife's passport. Is this normal? I thought it was quite odd. Thanks Nathan

I have an upcoming appointment that I can't make to file an I-130 for my wife. We are kind of last minute getting the marriage notarial certificates (and others for later) ready for the filing and we feel like we won't make the time this Thursday. I called the consulate in Guangzhou and they said we could file on a Friday during the public hours if we needed to. The reason I can't set an appointment is the next available appointment is the middle of May, and I will be on a business trip for more than a month in the USA starting May 11th. Does anyone have experience in filing an I-130 during public hours on Friday in GUZ? Thanks, Nathan
