  1. They do have a good variety of fruit
  2. Roger, it's not hard to find Western dentists in the larger cities. Lan found three yesterday, all of whom were educated in the US. Very clean offices, with professional staff, and fully fitted with modern equipment and modern prices of course. She really liked one of the facilities, who will do a root canal and crown for about 5000 RMB, or about 730 dollars USD. This is extremely expensive by Chinese standards, so that office caters almost exclusively to Westerners. That price is in contrast to the dental hospital that would have pulled her tooth for about 90 RMB. Whats wrong with the Chinese Dentists?
  3. Just saw your thread Charles, I am smiling with you..
  4. China has to get past the safety issues with it's products before it can move on to make bigger and better things. Who will want to fly in a Chinese built airliner until the world has confidence in the products that China makes? As the "world" remains preoccupied with China's growth pains, China continues to move forward, one giant leap at a time. Thousands of Chinese tourists travel every single day on Chinese built and piloted airliners. China has always seen itself as the Center of the world, and that which lies outside it, are the other folks. You might double check that statement on the Chinese built airliners

  6. BEIJING, Sept 14, 2008 /Xinhua-PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China) today announced that US presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama have outlined their views on what US-China relations would be like under their respective administrations in articles written exclusively for AmCham. The articles, to be published in the October issue of AmCham-China's monthly magazine, China Brief, are believed to represent the first time the two candidates have publicly offered substantive details about their proposed China policies. The articles outline the candidates' positions on a range of critical China-related business and policy issues facing the next US administration including trade balances, currency, security and the environment, as well as their thoughts on US competitiveness in the world economy. "The fact that senators McCain and Obama chose to share their insights first with AmCham members is a testament to the chamber's reach and standing as an advocate for positive US-China business relations," said AmCham-China Chairman James Zimmerman. "We are encouraged to see both candidates call for further business development and more US engagement -- rather than isolationism -- in the years ahead. As a non-profit, non-partisan organization, AmCham-China looks forward to continuing good relations with the next administration." Among many topics addressed, both candidates lay out clear indications of their views on trade. For example, in his article Senator Obama writes that he will "undertake more sustained and serious efforts to combat intellectual property piracy in China, and to address regulations that discriminate against foreign investments in major sectors and other unfair trading practices." In addition, the senator pledges to work with China's leaders "to establish a better system for both countries to monitor products produced for export and act when dangerous products are identified." Meanwhile, Senator McCain stresses China's obligations in improving bilateral trade relations. China's "commitment to open markets must include enforcement of international trade rules, protecting intellectual property, lowering manufacturing tariffs," he writes. "The next administration should be clear about where China needs to make progress, hold it to its commitments through enforcement at the World Trade Organization, and enforce US trade and product safety laws." Full text of both candidates' positions is available in English and Chinese at www.amcham-china.org.cn. 7. In California all new teachers are required to get an ESL Certification. There are many techniques to teaching ESL. Those techniques are also used in teaching other subjects. By using the ESL techniques, the child is still able to learn their core subjects like social studies, science, etc, as well learn the new language. Each state sets their own requirements for teachers. Set up an appointment with your local school principle and ask about their program. I dont care who you are you will not learn the subject matter if it requires english until you can speak and understand english
  8. I still think of them that way Carl
  9. Me thinks Lusheng is sorta messed up in her head, she dont care for the Chinese channels at all B)
  10. The Yangs, I have heard that they sell body parts too?
  11. You're not just a "little" wrong about this, but rather you're completely and utterly mistaken! The China Womens gymnastics team did nothing to deserve with being compared with the likes of illegal drug users like Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds. The young ladies from China have NOT cheated, nor did they disobey any rules. They complied with every request and regulation issued by the International Olympic Committee. The ladies of China simply out performed their competitors and did it without the use of artificial enhancements like illegal drugs. I think they are too young and used drugs too, can u prove me wrong?
  12. Don't know about anyone else, but I read about this law when I applied for my first visa. Guess the laws of China don't apply if your right. I would not call them very good Christians bringing that many Bibles in to China knowing that they wernt suppost to, hell throw them in jail for a few days and let them think about it
  13. Jim, the match was played yesterday which was Sunday in China
  14. And as NBC reported, younger girls are more reckless of their health to perform such death defying gymnastic routines. Good ole' NBC style reporting... Jin says no way they are 16 The point is its cheating/ breaking the rules. But having said that I thought the games was for originaly amateurs, that seems to be overlooked or forgotten too. Any amateurs in the redeem team ? Kobe Bryant is as amateur as they come, what are you talking about? Huh?? So is Yao Ming. I've heard several reports that all these guys are under age 16.... http://i36.tinypic.com/2nsotmt.jpg ...and Yao Ming was seen in a compromising position with at least two ot them....! And I just thought he was queer, I dint know he was into plastic too..
  15. I agree with you , cheating to win and not following the Olympic Committee Rules does not really matter, its who wins is what matters and how they do it should make no difference, hey its a dog eat dog world out there.

  18. I think it's great also. You would be quite surprised what you might find after you've tried walking in my shoes for a few months. As I mentioned previously, the news I get is directly from the people of this great country of China. There is truly no better source for information in the world. News obtained from any media source is tainted; that includes and especially applies to the US. Zhong guo, Ja jo Can you talk to the workers and tell them what you make as far a your wage there lol lol I am sure they told you not to discuss it with the Chinese I have been to a few countries for longer than what you have now lol
  19. I have no advice for you other than why dont you just ask her why she wont give you all of her money..
