  1. I created this account many years ago and no longer need it. I would like to delete it now, but I don't see how to do that. How can I delete my account? Thanks!
  2. Well, it's been quite a while since I've been on here! Now we're both here in the States in grad school! I thought I'd bump my interview write-up for others going through with the GUZ experience. ;-)
  3. Hey! I'm not sure if anybody remembers me. My wife had her interview at GUZ in December last year and came here in January. Now that we're married, things are great! We have our green card interview on July 28th! I'm not too worried about it, but if there are any words of wisdom that can be passed down, I'd appreciate it!
  4. We basically focused on the following: -Their connection to China. Home ownership, work info., family connections. -Their relationship with their daughter. Photos, birth cert., etc. -The relationship between my wife and I. Photos, marriage cert., passport and visa copies, etc. Other things they had were letters of invitation from my wife and I and from my parents. That probably helped explain our situation a lot. Their interview was short and sweet. They were mostly asked about me and my wife (where we met, how long we've been together) and there was no need for their connection to China. But it's best to be prepared for anything. In conclusion, my advice is to follow the guide that was posted above. It's very helpful. Be prepared to be interviewed by the worst possible person. They got a nice gentleman for an interviewer, but that was just luck.
  5. Her parents got their visitor visas to come to our wedding! We were pretty nervous because we know it can be hard to get that visa. However, they only asked about our relationship and that was it! Special thanks to the guide on this website!
  6. So my dad was the joint-sponsor for the K-1 visa for my wife and now we're going through AOS. Should he put himself down as the main sponsor or joint sponsor? We have the tax returns as supporting evidence. He's self-employed, so he has no W2. Is there any other evidence that should be included? Also, is there anything I should fill out? Thanks for any help!!!
  7. There are some parts on the AOS forms that ask for SSN. Is it required to fill that in or not? We applied for her SSN today and will get her card in about 2 weeks, but we'd like to file the AOS forms sooner than that. Thanks!
  8. We arrived last Wednesday and she's met most of the family. It's been quite overwhelming, but she's handling it well. She's surprised at how big everything is here. POE was no problem even though it took a while. Now it's time to get ready for the wedding!
  9. I was told by one of the GUZ consular officers that communication is important. If both don't know Chinese or English, it brings up doubts about the communication between the two. I know speaking English is not required to get the pink, but if the SO can speak English at the interview or prove that the petitioner can speak Chinese, it puts all doubt of communication to rest.
  10. So I've been here for a while and I've earned over 10k in USD. What's the best way to get it back to the States? Thanks for all suggestions!
  11. We picked up her passport with visa this morning! Nice and quick! More to come this weekend!
  12. WOOHOO!!!! I 'll post details when I get home this weekend. Thank you CFL!!!!!
  13. Ah, I see. Thanks! I think I can handle the fee.
  14. Hey all! Next week is our big week! Of course, questions keep popping into my head. I've got a couple questions about getting something notarized at GUZ. First, how long does it take? Finished within the day? Second, is there any cost for having something notarized? Thanks!
