  1. are you saying the IV interview is on the first floor? the ACS is on the second floor? Are they using 2 separate security checks? no way to go to the IV interview area for a U.S. citizen? Thanks.
  2. Very helpful information. Looks like it is a very nice facility.
  3. Sure, I will report back if I can find out. My trip to there will be around September or later this year.
  4. Does anybody know how far it is from the Citizen services area to the IV interview area? is the Citizen services area and the IV interview area on the same floor? Thanks, Sunny
  5. Can anybody tell me: 1, when our case is in AP, who is managing our case? Is the officer who conducted the visa interview managing the case or the case will be sent to a particular team to manage all the cases in AP status? 2, who is answering our email inquiry when we send the inquiry by using the Consulate's web form? Thanks, Sunny
  6. I received a reply from the Consulate, it said: ************* Thank you for your email. We understand that it has taken longer time than usual for the applicant to pick up the visa, and we apologize for it. However, there is still more administrative processing to be done for the case. One of our officers is working on the case and will process it to completion as soon as we can. Once it is completed, we will immediately inform you of the result. Please be assured that the case has been given full and fair consideration under U.S. immigration law. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this moment. ************** Anybody got the same reply for your case in AP? Thanks, Sunny
  7. I like Scovitz's idea to sue the government as a group. My friends also suggested to talk to the news reporters. I am working on that now. If you have a friend who is a news reporter for a newspaper, CNN, CBS, or whatever media, we should talk to them and let the public knew how our own government is doing to its citizen. Our immigration attorney also suggested to do so. Media is a powerful tool. Please email me if you like my idea. The purpose of an IV should be re-unite family. We do not know what's happening with the Consulate in Guangzhou. It is a huge black hole.
  8. after re-affirmed the approval by uscis, whats next? I was told the case will be sent back to the Dept. of State and then Guangzhou. 1, how long this will need? 2, does the child need to go to Guangzhou for a interview (the child was interviewed earlier this year)? 3, if not, should we just mail the passport for the visa? 4, if yes, I guess it should be easier for the hcild to get the visa than first time? 5, do you think we should contact Mr. Marc Ellis for help with the guangzhou interview? Thanks for your input, Sunny
  9. Thank you all for the advice. I contacted them and will work with them. The case is with USCIS now. USCIS just told me the case was returned and will contact me if anything else is needed.
  10. I was informed that the case was returned to USCIS on 6/26/2012. Do you know when I should get the mail from USCIS asking me to submit more information or document? is there a timeframe for USCIS to review the case and contact me?
  11. the child said the Consulate Officer is friendly. I asked them to keep the case at the Consulate so I can find out what happened with the Civil Affair Officer. I am not sure if the Consulate will keep the case for any longer. I think the Consulate Officer should give me a chance to explain and work on this as I am their fellow U.S. Citizen. Our right and benefit should be protected by our own oversea Consulate.
  12. The Official Adoption Registration Certificate does have the Official stamps. But, no, I did not pay this personal any additional fee for anything. My friend in China told me that I may not know the unspoken rules there. I just thought this is an adoption. It was finalized in year 2009. I would never imagine the individual who handled this process can do this.
  13. My daughter's visa got denied on 5/22/2012. We were told her case was returned to USCIS this week. The reason is the Chinese Civil Affair Officer told the Consulate my year 2009 adoption is invalid when the Consalute contacted Shijiazhuang Civil Affair Officer to confirm the adoption. I could not believe the Chinese Civil Affair Officer could invalidate my year 2009 adoption in year 2012 without informing me and the child (the involved parties) especially I am still having the Official Original Adoption Registration Certificate and the Notarial Adoption Certificate. I tried to talk to that Chinese Civil Affair Officer, each time he give me a defferent reason. I was told that Chinese Civil Affair Officer is now under investigation becuase other people complained him for botching their records too. I have contacted Marc Ellis for this. I will also prefer to have your input/advice on this. 1, If the Consulate returned the case to USCIS this week, when I should receive the notice from USCIS? 2, How I can fight with this Chinese Civil Affair Officer? Any suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks, Sunny
  14. Thank you, Randy. I will take your advice for sure. And at the same time, be prepared in a positive manner!
  15. I did some google search. Some said that they only need the passport to be mailed in for the visa.I just do not understand why they want a second interview without asking for any additional documents. I hope to get advice on preparing the second interview...
  16. thank you for your quick answer, Daniel. Here is the details about the "Final Processing/Call-in Letter" we received today. The box was checked is "pa must visit the Consulate any Monday through Wednesday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. They will then be scheduled for a second interview the following morning at 7:15" It also said that if you have been asked to return to the consular section, you can come any Monday through Wednesday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Please make sure to bring this notice and the attached appointment letter together with the passport for all immigrant visa applicant. However this is no attached appointment letter along with this "final Processing/call-in letter". Is this a good sign? Can we ask the Consulate to mail in the passport without PA visiting the consulate? We appreciate any advice from you. Sunny
  17. We received the call-in letter for a second interview today. Would you please give your advice for the second interview? one more question is regarding the call-in letter. it said " pa must visit the consulate any Monday through Wed from....." I do not know what "pa" means here. Thanks for your help
  18. It might be both (I am not sure). They just told me they are doing background checking but did not tell me what kind of background check. I dopted the child when I was in China and lived with the child for more than two years. If they check they should be able to find out the child lived with me. I wonder if they are doing anything now. My congressman's office did help a lot. I really appreciate it. I called DOS a couple of times and was told the case is still under AP. Any suggession? Thanks, Sunny
  19. Congratulations!! and thanks for the posting.
  20. Thanks for all your replies. I adopted her when she was 15. Then applied IV for her. First the USCIS denied the case and we appealed because we found out that the USCIS messed up both my daughter's bate of birth and the date of the final adoption. The USCIS California Center quickly approved the case after our appeal. But when we came to Guangzhou for the interview on 8/16/2011, the Date of borth was still wrong in the Government's electronic system. We got a blue paper. I asked our Congressman and Senator's help on our case, they got the same answer saying the case is under AP. I am thinking to contact the President's Office for help and also thinking to hire an attorney. I should visit this site before my daughter's interview. I am too naive on the Visa Application. I think it is a child's visa and should be real easy to get. When we first got the blue slip, I am still very positive that the child will get the visa soon as I trust our government will help and protect their Citizen...
  21. Hi Everybody, Could you please give me some advice for our case? My daughter was interviewed on 8/16/2011 and got a blue slip. The Consulate noticed us for receiving the requested document on 10/26/2011. We did not get any update since then. I sent a couple of inquiries by email, the Consulate did replied saying our case is under Administrative Process but did not give us time frame. I also asked what they are doing with our case, they said they could not tell us what they are doing. Should I go back to China and then Guangzhou to attend the American Citizen Hour? or ask the IV Unit Chief for help? Any advice and suggestion is highly appreciated. Thanks and have anice weekend, Sunny
