  1. I need a link to download the OF-169. I mailed the package off today but I don't have a copy of the OF-169 to look at.
  2. On the DS-230 we mail just Part 1 correct?
  3. Received my 2010 return from my tax preparer. So that problem is solved. My wife's question is now should we mail her information and her daughter's information in separate envelopes or the same envelope? My belief is the same envelope to receive the interviews on the same day. My idea was to mail them together and have their passport bio page attached to each in order to reduce confusion. On the OF-169 Original Documents If you are the beneficiary of a family-based immigrant visa petition, you must be prepared to present the originals of all civil documents that establish your claimed relationship to the petitioner. If your sibling, child or parent filed your petition, you must present the birth certificate of the petitioner. If a stepparent is petitioning you, present evidence of your relationship with the stepparent or evidence of the current relationship between your stepparent and birth parent. Additional evidence of a relationship typically includes, but is not limited to, family photographs and household registration. Bring with you photographs that establish your relationship to the petitioner before the petitioner immigrated to the United States. What exactly are they wanting to see family photos, my birth certificate? Not sure what they want here. This would pertain to my Stepdaughter, correct?
  4. OK, I thought I had everything. I know I have my 2010 income tax return running around the place somewhere. If I can't find it, is there a way that I can get an IRS transcript for the 2010 return? I have a transcript for my 2009 returns and I have my 2011 returns.
  5. On the OF-169 do we need to fill out but the English and Chinese sections or just 1. Wanting to make sure everything is done properly.
  6. Thought so, my wife was showing me a post from an expert on a different site that said send everything. I didn't want to start an argument so I decided to diplomatacly post the question here...lol Also on the DS-230 on the "Don't write below this line box". I'm kind of weirded out that there is no place for a signature on this form. So will my wife and my step daughter sign the DS-230 in Guangzhou? I'm going to try and mail the paperwork off on Friday.
  7. I'm back in China now and sprucing up the OF-169, DS-230 and the I-864 for the wife and step-daughter and I'm kind of confused on what needs to be mailed off to Guangzhou to schedule the interview. Do I send just the OF-169 and the DS-230 or the OF-169 and the DS-230 along with all the documents that is on the checklist that applies to us? I have ready the OF-169, DS-230, I-864 2-Shipping labels 6-Photos birth certificates passport pages police records check Also on the DS-230 on line 44 Were you assisted completing this application? I marked "Yes" and listed myself for both my wife and step daughter is this OK? On my stepdaughters DS-230 on lines 31a, 31b should I list her mother as accompanying her to the US? Or should I leave it blank since lines 14 and 29 are blank as they refer to spouse and children? Very stressful time as I want to make sure all our bases are being covered. Thanks much for your help Bubba
  8. OK, I'm in the US getting my tax returns and bank statements for myself and my co-sponsor together. I have a scan of his drivers license for a picture ID what other form of ID might I need? I have 3 months worth of bank statements, 3 years of tax returns for both of us. Is there anything else that me be needed for a I-864 form that may be necessary? I leave for China on Sunday.
  9. Heading back to the US on Sunday to get I-864 business done. I also have a tax question. I have filed a tax return for the years I've been in China but this is the first year that I will be filling since I have married. What do I need to show in order to add the wife and the step daughter onto my return. Also any information on how to setup a joint bank account in the US? Bubba
  10. OK, enough with the distractions. I've been spending too much time trying to setup a business here in China. Now it's back to Visa work. On the I-864 question 9. I am sponsoring the following family members immigrating at the same time or within 6 months of the principle immigrant named in part 2 above. Do not include any relative listed on a separate visa petition. Do I include my step-daughter on this since she has her own visa petition in the works?
  11. Have a question. I noticed on the DS-230 that on line 22 there is not enough room for both address and city. That is the line where the Father's address belongs. On line 27 of the mothers address there are 2 lines. Which is enough room for both address, City, Province, Country. Is there a reason that you can not get all the information on line 22? Or would it be better to fill the form out by hand and not on the computer? Also on my step-daughters DS-230 on line 30 list Person's who will accompany you to the U.S. I have left it blank because she has no children and is unmarried. Since my name is not appearing on this DS-230 how will they process this with my wife's DS-230? Case numbers are different but she is applying for a CR-2 and the Wife a CR-1 Visas? I guess that may be the answer not sure. On line 30 where it asks to list all the homes that you have lived in since the age of 16, since she is 16 would we just list the current address? Almost finished with both DS-230 forms. These are just a few questions that have me scratching my head.
  12. On the line 33 list all educational institutions you attended. Do they want from Primary school to university or do you just go back to high school? My wife has a few degrees and we ran out of room on the High School. There wasn't enough room for Middle and Primary. Also when it comes time to mail in the DS-230 do we also need to mail in the I-864's?
  13. Whewwwwwwwwwww good to know. I was stressing over the list the addresses you've lived at since the age of 16...lol Do I need to capitalize all the words in form as I did on the I-130? I didn't see anything in the instructions for this. Also on the line 44, "Were you assisted in completing this application?" I would put my name there? I also checked yes in the box to issue a Social Security number. Is this OK?
  14. Do I fill out a DS-230 form? I fill out one for myself, wife and step daughter? Just checking to make sure.
  15. Would property taxes and my tax returns be proof of maintaining property? Starting to wade through the forms now.
  16. Just received the P3 packet today. The I-134, on the first line that says residing at: Would that be my Chinese address or my US address? I was wondering what for carries more weight the I-134 or the I-864 form? They ask for similar information on both forms. I have to admit these 2 forms make me squeamish...lol
  17. I seen the earlier post about the I-864. I'm still a little fuzzy on this. I am the sponsor and my father is the co-sponsor. Do we both fill out the I-864 form or does he fill out the I-864A form? Just trying to get things straight. Also we sent off the paper work for my step-daughters name change. How soon should we hear from Guangzhou for a notice of acceptance letter? Getting a little nervous as we heard from Guangzhou within two weeks for the wife's notice of acceptance. Also is there a working phone number in Guangzhou that I can call to check on the paper work? The number on the form letter doesn't appear to be a working number.
  18. I have received the NOA for my wife and I'm waiting for the NOA for my step-daughter. What documents do I do need to file next? I am currently working on my I-864. Do they mail the P3 packets or do you download the forms. If you down load the forms what forms do I need to download? Bubba
  19. Doh' I read the top part of the letter and the directions are there. I was so fixated on what was wrong and what was needed. Oh well at least it's an easy fix. Bubba
  20. In Guangzhou they handed my photos back to me and said they didn't need them. They only wanted the 2x2 passport photos. Bubba
  21. Received a letter in the mail today that my Wife's notice of approval of immigrant visa petition. However there is a hang up with my stepdaughters due to the fact that she had her name changed and I was unaware of it before filing. My wife has the court order changing the name and we are going to have it translated. So I guess we'd mail in this further documentation or do I have to take it into the consulate in Guangzhou again? Happy one of the petitions was accepted, just have to get my step-daughter's paper work squared away. Bubba
  22. Went to the consulate today. Everything went well. Was taken aback by two requests from the lady that took the paper work. She not only wanted to see the passports, but the marriage books and my wife's original divorce decrees. The marriage books weren't an issue since I had the wife bring them along on a whim. Her original divorce paperwork though is back home. She seemed satisfied with the passports and marriage books. Other than that little scare everything else went just fine. Thanks to everyone for your help and I guess I'll be using another forum for when our packages arrive and I have loads of I-864 questions...lol Thanks So Much Bubba.
  23. Looking for a post that I saw on here recently about a couple that filed for their CR-1 visa in Guangzhou. The post had photos of the inside of the consulate. I've looked for this post and have not been able to find it. I think the post was from the spring.
  24. I think I have everything together and I'm looking for a hotel close to the consulate in Guangzhou. I'm not sure what area to look in. Last time I was there I was pretty far away.
  25. Oh also on the G-325a for the applicant signature does my wife have to write her name in English or just leave that blank and fill out the long thin box below it that is for none Roman Alphabet?
