  1. Getting closer to the trip to Guangzhou. I have a few more minor questions. I haven't signed any of the documents, is it OK to sign them now or do I have to do that in front of the people at the consulate? Also do I need an I-864 now or does that form get filed later? I seem to remember someone telling me that I don't need to file an I-864 since I was living in China for the CR-1 visa. Also a good hotel near the Consulate? The last time I was there I stayed a good deal away from the consulate and I would like to be closer to the consulate.
  2. Good didn't want to have to change all my China's to PRC's...lol Question on my step daughter's I-130 do I list my past marriages? Since I'm married to her mother is my past marriages relevant to her I-130?
  3. I don't care who you are, that's funny...lol I'm on the home stretch for Gitten er dun...lol Strange question that popped into my head during the Olympic opening ceremonies. On the country line can I list China or PRC? I was thinking PRC until the athletes came out and I told the wife and the step daughter they'd have to wait an hour or so for China since it's Peoples Republic of China. Then here they all came marching out with the "C's". So do I list China, PRC or does it really matter?
  4. The passport size pictures for the 325a, do I attach those to the form or the plastic bag with the white piece of paper. Also was wondering how to bind all these papers together for submission? This is a ton of paper work I'm turning in...lol
  5. This is the final cover letter and table of contents for my step daughters I-130 package. 7. Quick question on the bottom of the G-325a form there is a black box that asks for family name, given name and alien registration number. I would leave that blank since I am a citizen?
  8. This is the end of the affidavit. Is there any changes I should make to the wording since I am filing in China and not the United States? FURTHER AFFIANT SAYETH NAUGHT _________________________________________ Someone I know STATE OF _____________ ) ) ss.: COUNTY OF ____________ ) Sworn to and subscribed before me this _____ day of _________, 2007, by Scott Greer, who personally appeared before me, is personally known to me or produced _____________________________ as identification, and did take an oath. BEFORE THE UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY #A123456789 IN RE: JOINT PETITION OF JOHN AND JANE SMITH TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE OF JANE SMITH / Also the person signing for the affidavits are a Canadian citizen and a Chinese citizen should I also include copies of their passport or identity papers? Or will the notary stamp be enough? Also am I filing this in support of the I-130 or the G-325A?
  10. Do I need both my copies of both my passport and birth certificate or just one or the other? I have both so it's not a problem either way.
  11. I guess it would be an I-130 for a CR-2 Visa?

Enclosed please find my Form I-130, Petition for CR-1 Family Visa for - Should it be worded CR-1 Family Visa, CR-1 Step Daughter Visa? I'm not sure. Also do I need the birth certificate or will a copy of her passport suffice? My wife is out today getting the translations of all the necessary documents that are written in Chinese.
  13. I-130 question. On line 19 it asks for relative's address abroad. Since we are living together I just give the address for where we are living...Correct? Line 21 last address we lived together would be the address we are at now? Also it asks for dates. I put the date we moved in but I'm unsure what to put for the second date or should I just leave it blank?
  14. I've got those too. I'll make the change to Petitioner and family. How about the Visa pages to prove residency?
  15. Here is a copy of my latest table of contents. My new question is do I have to provide proof of residency in China and if so do I make copies of my work visa pages in my passport? 16. Yeah, I do the whole. "Well that may have worked for this person, but we're going to try it this way." It took forever to convince her we couldn't just post the paper work to Guangzhou. What settled it was "Do you really want to trust China Post with a letter with 5,500RMB in it?" That settled that question...lol
  17. Yeah, it's definitely been an education. I think it would go smoother if the wife would stop listening to her Chinese teacher friends who are all US Visa experts...lol
  18. I have the body of two affidavits written but I'm not sure how to format them. Is there a site that I can use to find the proper format to use for the headers and signature lines that the INS will accept?
  19. Quick question on the G325a. There is a box by the signature box that asks "This form is submitted in with an application for:" Do I check the "Other" box and write I-130 or another selection. Also on the employer area. There is enough room for the company name and the city. Do I need the complete mailing address on this line or will the name of the company and the city and country be sufficient?
  20. I want to hand deliver the I-130 Packages to Guangzhou for the wife and step daughter. I'd like to do this in July. The wife however doesn't want to do this she wants to post it. I'm kind of nervous about this because I've had too many friends that have posted things and sometimes they arrive sometimes they don't. Would it be better to hand deliver the packages or post them? Or does it really matter? Also another question. I've filled out the G-325a form and the line where it asks for date and location of the divorce there isn't enough room for both the date and the location. Would it be better to abbreviate the date? Say changing from 3/31/99 to 3/99 or abreviate the city?
  21. We have been together for over a year before marriage. But we have no bank account or apartment lease. We live in an apartment supplied by my employer. I can get affidavits though. I can put more information about our meeting in the cover letter but with both of us being divorced twice if we include information on past marriages the cover letter would be come the a 300 page novel...lol
  22. Still gathering documents together for the wife. I've also been working on the table of contents for the I-130. Does this look alright and am I leaving anything out? Contents include: Payment in the amount of $ 420.00 Form I-130 G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner) G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary) Birth certificate/US Passport (Petitioner) Birth certificate of Spouse (Translated) Marriage Certificate (Translated) Copy of Petitioners Divorce Documents (Marriage 1) Copy of Petitioners Divorce Documents (Marriage 2) Copy of Spouse Divorce Documents (Marriage 1 Translated) Copy of Spouse Divorce Documents (Marriage 2 Translated)
  23. Is there a sample cover letter and table of contents? I seem to remember seeing a link to one a year or so ago but haven't been able to find it. Also, is the only time that I can file in person in Guangzhou is on Friday mornings during walk up hours or do I have to set an appointment?
  24. OK, I think I have the wife's information all settled. Now for my step-daughter. I need for the I-130 Pack for her. 1. Cover Letter with a table of contents 2. I-130 3. Copy of my birth certificate 4. Copy of my step-daughters birth certificate (translated) 5. Copy of my wifes divorce decree (translated) 6. pictures of me, wife and step-daughter 7.
