  1. We are at three months, just waiting...... no big rush, we don't have any travel plans, have the extension letters. Just living life, enjoying our family. CSC currently processing I-751 petitions at a prodigious clip, VSC is currently in a coma. Happy holidays to all !!
  2. Copy of marriage cert not needed, copy of SSN cards are not needed. Agreed, but sent them in with the rest of the 3.8 pounds of paper. Should include evidence you are living together, your drivers license should share address, attach copy of US Citizen DL. Yep, the DLs are for my wife and myself (USC). The ID card is for my stepson. All with the same home address. The remainder is much the same as my case, though we did not have things like deeds, retirement plans, wills, car insurance, etc... Likely sent more than what was required (gilding the lily...lol). Would rather send it now, than send it later pursuant to a RFE. Figuring out what the USCIS adjudicators want is often a stab in the dark.... YMMV
  3. Just to chime in on what great info and advice Dan and warpedbored have given. Good luck.
  4. We are in the initial steps of our ROC process. Send in the 3.8 pounds of paper, got the petition acceptance receipt, they quickly took their money. The biometrics appointments are scheduled for next Wednesday at the new DHS Seattle Field Office "fortress" in Tukwila. Hopefully, the traffic god will be in a good mood that morning. After that, we wait........ Is it akin to watching paint dry or watching grass grow? Good luck, hope that you get your interview soon.
  5. My wife and stepson got their visas in June 2012. I flew into Guangzhou to be with my future family, to give moral support to them at a very stressful time in our fledgling family's history. I had prepared a Evolution of Relationship (EOR) letter that I had folded lengthwise into my passport, gave it to my then-fiance(e) to place on top of the documents that she slid over to the CO during the interview. She said that the CO scanned the EOR and passport, and passed the passport back, acknowledging my presence in Guangzhou. According to my wife, the interview was about 10 minutes long and relatively uneventful. Near the end of the interview, the CO asked my wife if he could trust her answers. She replied, "Yes, of course you can!" He peered at both of them and said, "You are approved, and happy birthday." Evidently, the CO had done his homework, as that it was her birthday. What a great gift! Sure, I couldn't be in attendance at the interview, however, to be able to provide moral support and comfort to my future family at this important time was priceless! Besides, I sure didn't want to miss the "great" June weather in Guangzhou....NOT !!! Now that seems so long ago, yet it was only yesterday.... Good luck ! If you can be in the area, do it. If not, make sure all of your documents are in order.
  6. Hello all, I will have to admit that I have been a rather infrequent member here for the last couple of years. I got involved with VJ. I have learned quite a bit on my immigration journey. However, my family and I recently started the ROC process and it seems to signal a change in the emphasis and tenor of our journey. I suspect that I will soon be spending more time here. Since their arrival in July 2012, my family has been working hard to make their new country their home. My wife, a former 20-year high school teacher in Liaoning province, is a recent massage school graduate and is now working in medical clinics expanding her therapeutic massage therapy practice. My stepson, formerly a somewhat awkward recent high school graduate, recently graduated from a local community college achieving a 3.92 CGPA. This fall, as a junior transfer student, he will be attending the University of Washington - Seattle campus, majoring in a very popular Electrical Engineering discipline. While I just keep working at my health profession practice, looking to retire in five years (ya right ). Currently, the ROC part of our journey has been progressing at a quick clip, certainly a far cry from the seemingly forever lapses of time during the K1 visa phase of our journey. We sent in our 3.8 pound POC packet toward the end of August. We recently received notice of their biometrics appointment 8 days from now. Maybe we will be lucky enough to avoid the ROC interview. I mention this in view of the "murky" AOS interview we endured a few years ago. Que sera, sera. Good luck to all.
  7. Hello all, Yesterday my fiancee and stepson had their visas approved at the Guangzhou consulate!!!! We are dancing in the park across the street from the consulate. Upon receipt of the visas they will be arriving at the SeaTac POE. Thank you for the help and support you have provided. Cheers!
  8. Hello fellow CFL members, Yesterday evening (26 Mar 2012) I received email notification from USCIS that our I-129F petition had been approved (NOA2). According to VJ stats, it took 147 days from NOA1 to NOA2. Now we are gearing up for the next step in our journey. Wishing all continued good fortune on their visa journey. :happydance: :happydance:
  9. That is for sure (a CSC back log). Though we are pursuing a K1 visa, our petition is at the CSC (NOA1 10/31/11). We are speculating that our interview may be in July or August, mainly due to the glacial pace of output at the CSC.... Good luck!
  10. +1 All of us relegated to the CSC are just treading water..... Based upon past history, I am very leery of making travel plans dependent on the actions and time frames of the bureaucrats at Laguna Niguel. YMMV, The B of A&B
  11. May our hardworking government workers enjoy the holidays with their families. May they also be guided into making prompt and just decisions on our petitions for our future families.

  12. Hello all, We are relative newbies to the K-1 process, we received our NOA1 on 31 Oct 2011. So, we are in that seemingly endless period of waiting between NOA1 and NOA2. Barring some radical change in the glacial pace of activity at the CSC, we speculate that that nothing will happen to our petition until mid to late March, at the earliest. We both know that we have to be strong and patient, and yes, these long winter nights are very lonely. Don't get me wrong, Skype is a wonderful program, one that we utilize daily, to keep in touch. Tonight, I purchased a ticket for a non-stop flight from Seattle to Beijing scheduled for this upcoming February. We are planning on meeting in Beijing, then traveling to Lijiang, by way of Chengdu. We are very much looking forward to a 10-day getaway together, nothing special planned, just some good quality time together. Of course, we will document this visit for the purposes of our ongoing visa process, more time together is always a good thing on so many levels. Now, Alisha and I are busy planning the itinerary for our upcoming get together. It will be our holiday gift to each other. Happy holidays, The B of A&B
  13. You are in the same boat as many of us....waiting....wondering...second-guessing ourselves....Oh...did I mention waiting and ....waiting?? The wheels of our bureaucratic government grind ever so slowly. Continue with your trips and plans, it will help the time pass by. We are hoping to be together at this time next year! Happy holidays, The B of A&B
  14. Interesting question! Here is a site I found through the use of google search...what a fantastic tool! Grants Take a look, or do another google search. Good luck, Happy holidays, The B of A&B
