  1. There should be two parts to the RFE (I-797E, Notice of Action), the Blue cover page (1) and the white page (2) of RFE explaining what is needed for the reply to the RFE. This should list exactly what USCIS needs to continue the process. If this is missing, then it can only be assumed that he has replied to the RFE, or it still unopened and somewhere in the house? What you have is the notification letter.
  2. She would have the conditional GC, I'm not sure if an interview is required for the AOS?
  3. I hope there is some resolution to this, talk about blind-sided. Makes wonder about his motive, just to have some one holding his hand, does he even realize what affect this will have on her?
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if the AOS is already completed and he's holding her GC, and she doesn't know it.
  5. Wow, what can I say, sorry a.. SOB. Basically a take it or leave it option, talk about taking advantage of some one. I hope the niece can help her.
  6. tsap, It's your faith that will keep you two together regardless of what the outcome is. Should the same thing happen to us, I have no problem living anywhere in the world other than the Middle-East. I spend 27 years living in Europe, so as you can see anything is fine with me, as long as I'm happy and comfortable where I'm living. At least there is one good positive, you won't have to worry about getting shot in a drive-by there as you would have to here.
  7. Strange??? Should be back by now if he filed in Sept of Oct 07? Makes wonder too, did he state this with the Pre-nup before she arrived here?
  8. Has the AOS been completed? I notice that they are already married.
  9. I feel for you tsap, I know it isn't easy and any kind of information is better than the standard reply letter, and then letting you and the rest of family sit and wait in the unknown for such a long period of time. It would be better for them to come out and say it, instead drag your heart around for 9 months. I know it's not fair and other will say the same thing in support of your effort, but then again GUZ is following there polices and then again if they were in your shoes they wouldn't be very happy either. Kept your feet on the ground and kept reaching for the Stars, your time will come.
  10. tsap seui, I've been there a couple of times, seeking information from GUZ, got more info from one of the offices downstairs than I got from GUZ and as you can guess I wasn't happy with the rsults. Yes, it's easy to get lost inside that building, plus walking in a circle going out. After I came out my Lao Po thought I was mad at her but I wasn't, it was with GUZ and there answer to seek the info via the USCIS website.
  11. Offensive, yes. I bet he won't take a step inside China. Another Loose Cannon running his mouth before engaging his brain.
  12. Check list when interviewing: Correspondence Satements: Q9. A detail statement, written by the petitioner, describing the evvolution of your relation. be sure to, at the very least, explain how you met, when you started dating, and how, when and why you became engaged. (If you have already made a simliar submission, and that statement raised suspicions about your petition, (Submit a new one). Q10. A statement, written by the petitioner, explaining how and why petitioner sent you lots of money despite his/her low salary.(If you have already made a simliar submission, and that staement raised suspicions about your petition, (Submit a new one). Q11. A statement, written by the petitioner, listing every trip he/she has taken to China, to visit you and explain how you spent your time together. Include dates and locations. Explain who arranged his/her trip to China, who purchase his/her tickets and who accompanied him/her.(If you have already made a simliar submission, and that statement raised suspicions about your petition, (Submit a new one). As best practise, the above is for a Blue Slip over come, should this all be in place prior to the interview, then there should be nothing stopping the VO from issuing the Pink Slip and Visa. This doesn't mean that the VO will not find other ways to give a Blue Slip.
  13. Hi All, CSC notice approved 16 Jan 08, NVC approved notice dtd 31 Jan 08. Contained with this letter from the NVC, states "that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where the visa interview will take place". We all know snail-mail takes time to recieve, like 5 to 7 days coming from any of these two entities. The basis from my call yesterday to DOS, assuming I wasn't given any mis-information, the hard-copy of the petition was received in GUZ 4 Feb 08. DHL doesn't ship Ground to China, so it is possible that the real file is there. We all know their is at least a 70 to 90 day wait for the P3 packet to be sent out. I'm thinking my lao Po should hear or recieve the P3 on or about 15 to 18 April 08.
  14. I have read your timeline several times, and I am somewhat confused and am not able to really understand the last three date entries on your timeline ?? I am not sure if it is because of the format you use to show dates, or if it is some confusion in terminology, or in the actual information presented ?? I think you are saying that you had your file exit the NVC on February 12th; then it is not so clear (to me anyway) what has happened after that ??? Hi Roger, The orginal notice was dated 31 Jan 08, also submitted a email inquiry, that's what you see of the 12th entry is the (loaded electronic entry). Based on me expeirence, it's better to wait and call DOS in the afternoon, I got no help when calling in the morning only to be told it would be 2 to 4 months. I was told today that the hard copy of the file was received in GUZ on 4 Feb 08. I know that doesn't mean anything other than it is their in the warehouse, but at least there is a base reference point.
  15. Mark, Thanks for the support. Just got off a PC to PC call to my Lao Po, she bouncing off the walls and very happy right now. We both have been waiting patiently for this time to come for a long time now. As for the P3 and P4, this is already completed (except for the Med. exam and Vac. shots), the doucments just need her signature, this could save us about 2 weeks in processing and turnaround time. Chris & Lijun
  16. Hello All, Just got the DOS notice letter and GUZ#. Timeline: Met: 8 March 2004 via the Internet 1st Visit: 20 January 2005 GUZ 2nd Visit: 6 July 2005 GUZ 3rd Visit: 26 January 2006 GUZ 4th Visit: 5 July 2006 GUZ 5th Visit: 10 March 2007 GUZ Engaged: 17 March 2007 in GUZ I-129F: Signed 3 May 2007 in Phoenix, AZ NOA1: 17 July 2007 (K1 & K2) CSC RFE: 29 November 2007 (Family Book and Household Register?) My Lao Po has been married 2 times, could be the reason? But this requirement isn¡¯t stated at the USCIS website as documents that need to been submitted; both divorce certificates were submitted with the initial I-129F. RE-Submission RFE to the CSC: Return Receipt dated 27 December 2007 2 January 08: USCIS notification of Receipt of Documents for the RFE 16 January 08: NOA2 Approved 4 Feb 08: Called NVC to check status of petition, not received, was told it could take up to 90 days. 4 Feb 08: Snail mail, received GUZ# in 12 days, DOS states letter that the petition will be sent within one week to Guangzhou.
  17. Dave & Hong, Weclome to CFL You didn't say how long your visit will be, but I'm assuming at least two weeks and I hope it is longer like three weeks. You can expect a Family Dinner usually around the two week mark, coun;d be sooner based on how long your visit is? I base this on my first visit expeirence, it's at this dinner that your will be accepted into the family, expect to be questioned by the family as they will decide her's and your's future relationship. Just remember Family is everything in China. As for the Engagement Ceremony, expect to spend at least two days in search of a suitable restaurant, menu price and dinning room accommodations etc. Trust her judgment on this and depending on the size of the family the bill should be around $200 for the entire event and up to 26 people attending. Just remember this a drop in the bucket compared to what you would have to spend here to have such an event held. Some other things to consider, Wedding Ceremony pictures, tradational in China, about a half day spend doing this. As for the Engagement Ring for her, in China it's not one ring as it is here but two rings, one for you and one for her. But above all else, enjoy your trip and Hong, I'm sure it will be unforgettable. Good Luck
  18. I did on my first visit, and even had dinner with my Lao Po's police firend who recorded the event, on the last four visits I didn't register.
  19. Tony, Just enjoy the moment, because this moment will last a life time in your heart. You'll be there for Chinese New Years, expect a lot of family gathering (breakfast, lunch and dinner) over a 5 day perods, just go with the flow, take plenty of pictures. Pack light, you'll bring home more clothes than you took with you. The one thing I spoke with my Lao Po about before my first visit, that I was coming there with a open heart and mind. Take in what you see and don't forget that China is still a developing country and the living conditions are much different than ours. Some do's and don'ts: Do be respectful, ask her how to properly greet her parents, unsually a two handed warm hand shake. This is critical first step for the both of you and your future relationship together. The family will decide if they will allow your relationship continue and this will be at a family dinner, so bear that in mind and I'm sure you will be accepted into the family. Don't touch any other woman in the family, this is a sign of disrespect.
  20. HI All, Thanks for the support, felt like it was going to take forever just to get to this step. The next couple of months will tell the whole story and the progress. I'm look forward to my next visit to GUZ, even though I know it will be hot and humid (June/July 08). When this time comes, their will be happiness and saddness, the happy side is my Lao Po will be joining me, the saddness that her son may age out before the Visa interview. I have already discussed this with her, that I will not abandon him nor should she feel that she's abandoning him, we just have to chose a different avenue to bring him here. The positive side, is she has a large family, and they all live in GUZ, plus it give him a chance to complete his University studies and I will support him anyway I can.
  21. Congratulations, and wow what a courtship!!!!!!!!!! The majority of the time was because of me and my pending divorce filed in Feb 06, which was completed in Feb 07, this she kept this a secret from her family. So, I know fully the burden she carried the whole time, but this truely gave us more time to build our love to one another. I wouldn't the change the way we handled this relationship for one minute and I think her family appreciated even more. Now Mama, she was one tough lady to convince to allow our relationship to continue from day one, but I think she finally saw the love we shared during all my visits and saw the happiest in her daughter face. All Papa could do was just smile and be happy, she has a great family, all 24 of the direct family members just about had a say in our relationship.
