Hello fellow CFLers If entering the USA on K3 and having a current Chinese drivers license how long would it take to obtain an American drivers license. I asked my local DMV branch today and they have no clue.

I canceled my first trip to China for a reason similar to this. Others here tried to offer other female contacts in China and I did not go. Big mistake on my part, however Al needs to be told the truth from you or your family. When Al is equipped with the truth and travels to China for a wonderful vacation and meets a beautiful woman he will not be disappointed. This is why I said take the middle path. The sooner he knows the better for him to decide or the shock maybe to much for him to wrap his mind around. None of us that have been to China would want him to cancel. And if there is a beautiful woman waiting? Armed with the truth and to see how sweet Chinese woman are and the small sincere things they do poor Al will be so disappointed. I wounder how Al will feel when the new lady walks with him arm in arm some night on a Chinese sidewalk? I wounder how he will feel when she places food in his bowl for him to eat and asks him to pour the tea for her as she taps the table with her nails? His first taste of the hotpot with a beautiful woman across from him. Learning his first few Chinese words in the mainland with the help of a beautiful woman? Have we all forgot what is in store for poor old Al? To Al, go to China meet this new woman and have fun. Send him an email explaining all the good sh*t he will miss out on w/a picture of the woman he will meet. She needs to meet him at the airport (very important) and you need to let it go. I wounder how Al will feel as they have private time in the back of a taxi on the way to his hotel? I think your family in China should do this if not a 3rd party, with a translated letter from her in her words telling him she looks forward to their meeting and time together in China. Al is a big boy give him the truth and some info of what a Chinese vacation can be, let him decide.

Not sure but, I think what I have read here before you might need to get a DNA test to prove you are the parent of the child. That is if you are the American citizen and wish to travel to US with Chinese born (non US citizen). I am sure others will chime in about this with better ideas. Good luck

My GF asked me the other day if one was to do a K3 from Hong Kong how long before she could return to China if needed? She has a HK visa and met me at the airport. She also asked me if she could bring pets to America (cat and dogs)?

Is it normal for an account number to be her name? What of the block number and code? I have asked her twice and this is what she gives me and it is very different from anything I have seen in the USA. I have used xoom quite a bit. You only need to give her bank name, account number, phone number, and address. The first time you send the money they will call her at the number you provide. It takes about 6 days for the money to arrive at her bank. It is very easy and safe. Yep just sent it with xoom and they did ask for a phone number. I like the way they keep you notified by email too. As long as she gets it before 26th all is okay. They should call her almost immediately. Let me know if you have any questions. You will get an email that says they are in the process of depositing but actually the money is already there. It is the easiest and cheapest that I have found by doing it all from your computer. My GF wrote me and told me she has the money now. This is the first time I have used xoom and I am pleased.

My GF needs a little help this month and I want to transfer some money to her. I would like to do a bank to bank wire and this is the info she provided me with. A block number that is 16 digit (numbers), I do not know if this is the routing number or not. An account number that is just her name. A bank name of China Merchants Bank h. o, Shenzhen A code that is 8 digits (letters). Is this normal type account info for Chinese bank accounts? And what is the "h. o," for? Maybe a typo on her part? I always thought it was for high output.

Would it not be correct to say that America is a constitional republic? Where as in a true democracy 51% of the people could in fact suppress the rights of 49% of the people. Sorry if this is a bit off topic but with all the posts of democracy.

Funny...I've always felt safer with you in China as well.

Richard this is just a personal observation so take it for what it is worth. I work with a railroad almost daily (bulk freight not passenger) despite my best efforts to be kind they are some unhappy folks. Service at best is unreliable, they struggle to extract more money over trivial issues. From the yard master to the men on the ground I have only met two old men that where happy and near retirement that were coasting out their final days. Before some start to jump on me here I have had and still have family employed by railroads. It ain't what it used to be for the men on the ground. Just a side note here, I know one man that left the railroad for a job at a nice landfill. Just so you know.
