  1. Welcome back. We were also detained for about 30 minutes at the POE. But all is good now.
  2. Thanks. Our exam was done on 6/22 so we need the TB test but not the new vaccinations. Yep, that is what to do. Notes on new TB test requirement: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD
  3. Would it be advisable to do this independent of filing I-485? It will take a while for me to assemble the package so I am thinking about filing I-765 first. Thanks for your opinions.
  4. We have the yellow book but don't have the blue. But no matter what, I think we still need the TB skin test. I made an appointment with our county health dept to get that done for no charge. Vaccinations in China are optional for K-Visas, so a person May or MAY NOT have a yellow book. My wife was K-1, and she opted to do vaccinations after getting visa and before leaving Guangzhou so she got a yellow book, if she had not, then she would have not got a yellow book, and would have had to do them here in the USA for AOS.
  5. Yaya, we got married on the same day. My CS told me to fill out the Part 1 only and they will take care of the rest.
  6. Thank you both. Now it seems like we only need TB skin test. Dr Arnold in TX can't do it from distance. Should we do it locally and then mail the result with the evidence of vaccinations to him then? Those were tested for in GUZ. Correct, STDs are a basis to deny the visa so are tested for BEFORE the visa is issued. We are talking about disease that can be vaccinated against.
  7. Does An needs Syphilis and HIV as specified on I-693?
  8. Clayton, I stand corrected. The good thing is that 09:09, 09/09/09 is also possible. For 08/08/08, 8:08 is not for the court house was not open, yet. Jing Jing, I feel quite certain your comment of the number nine not being a good number is not correct. Nine is clearly one of China's lucky numbers along with the number eight being the luckiest. See below. We plan to return to China to get our red books on 09/09/09 and perhaps at 09:09 AM!!! Clayton Nine The number 9, being the greatest of single-digit numbers, was historically associated with the Emperor of China; the Emperor's robes often had nine dragons, and Chinese mythology held that the dragon has nine children. Moreover, the number 9 (jiu) sounds like the word for "longlasting" (¾Ã pinyin ji¨³), and as such is often used in weddings. Nine means longevity and eternality. Nine roses signifies everlasting love. "Longlasting" Sounds good to me. I always knew that "9" was good for gifts etc. I wasn't certain that the number was appropriate for wedding days. Thanks for the info. (Jing - whoops! )
  9. Many thanks. Would the USCIS accept an out-of-state CS? Yep, Call around for price on them, they do not need to be done by a CS, you can then take the records to a CS for transfer to I-693. Note there is a CS in TX that will do the I-693 by mail for around $20 or so. Dr. L. E. Arnold 4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 106 Austin, TX 78745 Tel: (512) 444-3131 Fax: (512) 447-4699
  10. So, we need HPV, TB skin test TD MMR Chicken pot all together? We did the last three in China. The regs have changed a bit, TB skin test, as well as HPV vaccination has been added recently. A full medical is NOT required, all you need to do is download I-693 and point out the directions. A full medical is NOT a requirement for AOS from a K-Visa only the vaccination part of I-693 is. Recently USCIS has updated form I-693 with updated directions for Civil Surgeons explicitly explaining that ALL K-Visas do not need a full physical. I-693: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf And form I-485 directions have this: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf Bring vaccination record, or get immigrations related vaccinations and get the record transfered to the I-693 by a US civil surgeon.
  11. The local office told me that we have to do a physical and some other shots than the three required. What should I tell her? Where can I find the regulation from the USCIS website to convince her? She is unfamiliar with k-1 visa.
  12. Haha... You are always humorous and upbeat. It is my understanding that 9 is not a good number in Chinese. So you may want to pick another date. Thanks for your good wises. Thanks Jing. I see you married 08/08/08 - Congratulations yourself. We were denied this day. We'll find another. Is 09/09/08 lucky enough?
  13. Congratulations! I had no doubt this would be the case. Enjoy.
  14. My questions are as follows: 1. Were you inspected by an officer? Yes/ No? 2. In what status were you last seen? K-1? 3. Is Nonimmigrant Visa Number the same as the control number on the K-1 visa or the nine digits in red? 4. What documents satisfy the secondary evidence of birth certificate? 5. Is G-28 necessary? 6. How long is the I-94 number (nine or eleven digits)? That's all for now. Thanks.
  15. yang_jiahua2000@yahoo.com.cn Great people! I bought two air tickets back to the US from him while in Wuhan over the phone with so many changes. He never complained. They are a couple that you can trust.
  16. Congratulations! Talk to Mr. Yang about booking air tickets for he may be able to find you cheaper ones.
  17. Good luck! At this hour, you are perhaps already in the building. PINK!!!
  18. The State of Maryland requires two proofs of residence for applying the ID. My fiancee doesn't have any. What should I do? Thanks.
  19. So, now we need to get Rotavirus Hepatitis A Meningococcal Human papillomavirus Zoster before we start our AOS?
  20. I think it is exactly what happened. Thank you all for your welcome.
  21. We went to a visitor line and an female officer opened the packet. While flipping pages, she asked randomly that when the wedding was planned. I told her we were not sure. After a while, she told us to go to Window 37 for special processing. While waiting in the line, we were approached by a male officer who asked what we were here for. When he found out we were k1, he was a little surprised. "They sent you here," he asked. His surprise made us nervous. He took our paper and went to a station. A few moment later, he came back and told us to follow him. He took us to a holding room. This really made us nervous now. He told us to sit and wait. We waited, waited and waited. Finally, An's name was called. The officer asked again when the wedding was planned for. I gave him the same answer but added that since we didn't have any family in the US the wedding was going to be a simple one. He smiled and inquired that it was going to a civil one, uh? I said yes. He emphasized that we had to get married within 90 days of the entry. Then he circled the 1 on An's visa and repeatedly made the point that she couldn't get out of country until she got her green card. I knew all that but just nodded to satisfy his ego. I asked for an EAD card but he said I had to apply for it to the CIS. Then he let us go.
  22. Does one need birth certificate (notarized) when applying for SSN? Thanks.
