  1. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3579.html Are you opting in to NVC Electronic Processing, to save time? Yes, I am using electronic processing. is there anyway i could get the checklist early so i could get the hk police certificate and send it with ds230? Thanks.
  2. Hi, Is there anyone who has obtained a police certificate from Hong Kong. Hong Kong requires me to send the application with a letter from NVC saying that a police certificate is needed. I called NVC and that representative told me to send in what I have right now (without the hk police certificate) and when they find out I am missing something, then NVC will send us a checklist. Is there anyway to avoid this delay? They said they will genereate a checklist at some point...but I am not really sure what she was talking about. I have paid AOS and IV fee, but haven't submit my tax documents (i864) stuff. Thanks.
  3. also, shouldn't guz have known those answers already? Would those question/answer affect the interview outcome in anyway?
  4. Hi all, I just want to prepare my wife as much as I can about the interview and its process. I read many posts from previous interviewee that the beneficiary will be asked few questions (pre-interview questions) before the actual interview. Do they ask the same questions to each person? (some questions I read are: were you a ccp member? have you ever been to the US or hk or macau? etc) thanks
  5. I just checked my payment status on www.immigrantvisas.state.gov, it shows my AOS $70 still in process, but it allows me to pay that $400 IV Fee. Is that mean they have received my wife's ds3032? Can I go ahead to pay that 400 now even the $70 still in process? Thanks
  6. Hi .. I am curious. Why so long between NOA-2 and getting your NVC case number? Actually I got the NVC number for a while already...maybe back on may or something. I paused the process my wife doesn't got her passport at that time, but she got it. And I have forgotten what to do next.
  7. Yes the copies your wife should be getting now from her notary office along with English Translations. They wont need a copy of passport, just police cert, marriage cert, birth Cert, any divorce certs, and DS-230. Instructions for medical exam will be included in (Packet 4) along with invitation letter to interview at the consulate. IV Appointment Packet (¡°Packet 4¡±) Is it really? I thought I read at somewhere that at one point they need a copy of my wife's bio. page of her passport...I thought that was DS230 packet. Let's say a interview date has been set, I in the US should receive a package (those appointment letters and medical exam stuff) since I am the appointed person to receive letters. My concern is (1) how long before the interview date I will receive the packet and (2) do I have to send the original packet to my wife or can i just send/email her copies since it takes usually 2 weeks or more to get my letter to her home in china? Thank you.
  8. When I scan those documents (Police certificate, marriage certificate, wife's passport) along with ds230, they need to be all certified copies with translation right? Another question, when will my wife be asking to do her medical exam? thank you.
  9. NO, what you will be doing is scanning these documents and then sending them as attachments in an email to NVC, the actual documents your spouse will carry into the consulate when being interviewed. http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4410.html oh, ok, thank you very much
  10. The above link says: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form My wife has sent the ds3032 email. Will NVC reply her saying they have received it? Thank you Yes, and perhaps they will send you an email if she included your address in the email "Email: <Petitioner's E-mail Address>" First thanks for all your answers. When I get to the point they ask me to submit my wife's police certificate, marriage certificate, etc, I could not use electronic proces anymore right. I need to send in the real paper work. For people who have red books, do you send those red books in or you guys make certificate copies? Thank you very much
  11. The above link says: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form My wife has sent the ds3032 email. Will NVC reply her saying they have received it? Thank you
  12. No signature needed when emailing DS-3032, just follow the template I linked. Or she can fill out one and scan and email the scan. One more question, does she have to be the one who sends the email? Can I send that opt email by using my (the petitioner¡®s) email?
  13. Hi, Does my wife even need to sign the online DS-3032 if we want to submit that online using option 2?
  14. Hi all, What do I need to do next after receiving the NVC case number? I know i have to pay $70 and fill out DS-3032, but what else I need to do/ or attach to it? Thanks
  15. Hi, Has anyone tried in S.F. Chinese Consulate for 2 years visa? I am planning to get a visa so I could go back in Nov this year. Thanks. Ricky
  16. Just for clarification, does her BC come from her local notarial office and is a 4- page document bounded in a white cover? This is the internationally accepted document used in transactions and conforms to the Hague Convention. The same with her ID. This is what's needed from her notarial office. Sorry I can't help you more. BTW- have her get her passport. Good Luck! For the visa, yes. For the IRS, see http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=268005 For a passport- yes, which the poster said she hasn't one. The poster also said, The letter states "foreign notaries are acceptable if they attach an Apostille to the notarized document as outlined by the Hague Convention." That's why I asked. What he submitted would've been accepted if it were to what the letter stated, the above statement. I'm curious to know. I'm curious to know what exactly was submitted. It has to conform to what the IRS said which a notarial office could prepare. The "white book" contains an apostille. That's what they want. Of course, a passport would've been the easy, and best way to go. My wife's birth certificate (it's the white book) was obtained in the China notary and her ID card (also made to be the white book) was also notarized/certified copy in the China notary. Apparently, the irs would not accept those documents from China. Those documents were returned back to me...I am not sure if I could get those notarized (again) from US notary (but my wife is in China). So right now I don't really know what to do since she doesn't have a passport. Thank you Ricky
  17. Hi to all CFL, I just filed my 08 tax return with w-7 for my wife. My wife doesn't have a passport so I submitted her notarized birth certificate and notarized her China ID card along with w-7. Couple days ago I received a letter for IRS saying that we are missing some supporting documents. I haven't called IRS yet since they are off in the weekend, but I guess we have problems on our notarized documents. The letter states "foreign notaries are acceptable if they attach an Apostille to the notarized document as outlined by the Hague Convention." Have anyone been gone through this before so my wife could get an ITIN? Thank you very much Ricky
  18. Congrats George!! :-) Just wondering, do they always ask these questions at the beginning? chinese asst VO: may i have your interview letter and medical documents? chinese asst VO: did you ever leave china before? chinese asst VO: did you ever visit, hong kong, taiwan? chinese asst VO: how many times and how long for each trip? chinese asst VO: take fingerprints
  19. According to Jame's shortcut, if I chose to send DS-3032 via email, the email need to be sent by the beneficiary. Can the petitioner send DS-3032 instead because my wife has no internet access nearby?
  20. So the case number is not yet assigned? I called that NVC number at 1 (603) 334-0700 and enter my receipt number, it said my file cannot be found. Is that normal and means I need to wait a little bit long?? Ricky No. there are many ways to 'know' yer NVC case number (in this case it's the GUZ case number). Click one of my prior links in this here thread - read a shortcut or two - it's ALL IN THERE.
  21. Thanks and I hope you will be getting the approval soon. Ricky Good for you ... Great News! ... although I have to admit I am pissed off ... waiting for VSC and knowing that now I will have to return to USA without my wife ...
  22. Is NVC Case Number on NOA2? I don't see it anywhere on NOA2...
  23. One question I have on tax transcripts. I filed returns only on 2006, 2007, and will be 2008. I already got transcripts for 2006 and 2007. For 2008, can I send TAX RETURN with W-2's? Will that be good enough? Thanks, Ricky
  24. It went to California Service Center and now it is sent to NVC.
  25. Thanks a lot. I wish I could start next week, but I am still waiting for my wife's passport copy bio page and her police certificate. Hopefully they will arrive soon.
