  1. Not forwarded but mailed. It's the best information I have gotten about any of the shipments. Only one 2.5 lb "package of documents" going to GZ out of a total of 103 packages picked up that day? I would have to give a definite *YES!* to your question. The 29th was a Tuesday, I would say, yes, it was picked up on that Tuesday. Some mailing dates that fall on a Friday may not be picked up by DHL until the following Monday. Holidays also affect pick-up days. Try out your GUZ number NVC gave you( once a week) until GZ has a most positive reply for you! %%- good luck
  2. Patrick, What is your timeline? It would help if you posted it in the signature along with the type visa you petitioned for. I believe you were K3? The I-134, she will need at time of interview. The I-864 you will not need to file until the I-130 is approved by BCIS, (K3). The G-325A? You file that , one for you, one for her, with both the I-130 and the I-129f.
  3. http://www.dhl-usa.com/ waybill number for 07-29-2003-- 9431614872 2.5 lb package of documents delivered on August 6, 2003 The only shipment going to Guangzhou on the 29th 103 packages picked up on th 29th going to other embassies and consulates around the globe
  4. It means that they are setting up a temporary or pending case until your petition is processed and then the provisional case becomes permanent. A case that is between being and not being but will be( if all goes well). I think that is a good sign! It has some status to it.
  5. As donahso said, NVC should at least give you a mailing date if in fact it has been mailed. I advise calling NVC and asking for a mailing date. They will either tell you what it is or they will tell you that it is still going thru the checks. %%-good luck
  6. I was told by the consulate that anyone who submits a DS-230 will undergo security checks. The frequent cause of long time periods on some checks is due to common names.
  7. That's good news R2. Glad to hear it!
  8. I took over a quart jar of "sourwood" honey that is produced local to the area I live in. That was a gift for her mother but it was for them all to enjoy. For my wife, I like given her commemorative stamps alot since she enjoys collecting stamps. The post office has some nice selections. .....Just little things like that. B)
  9. To my knowledge, none do anymore...since April 1st (or May 1st). A travel agent is happy to do it for you, you can hire a visa service for about $35, have someone you know take it in for you or do it yourself. Mail in is no more. Maaannn!...what bad news! I don't mind the increase in fees but to lose such a convenience as mail-in is a pity. There's another one of our simple freedoms gone by the wayside. ***Where does it all end???***
  10. My qi zi told me today that China law now is that for a Chinese citizen to marry a foreigner, the marriage will have to be registered at the civil affairs office at the provincial capital.
  11. Same delay, Different month......carbon copy of previous months. Thanks for the 07-23 date. I will add it to my records. I tried soliciting the board for dates weeks ago but no bites. The numbers are DHL tracking numbers for bulk mails shipped and received. Hello TYWY, thanks again for your help about DHL clearance dealy.I keep checking the status and a question just crossed my mind this morning that if all cases sent by NVC to GZ through DHL and if all of the cases need to get through this new "Routine"? a couple of friends of mine got p3 pretty quick .One even got p3 20 days later after their case got approval from NVC. ALso ,do you know the airbill of Junly 29th? my friend anny would like to check her case DHL status and she has no ID here.thank you good luck francine It's cases like that that tear my model all to hell!...lol, but I am happy for the ones that get thru. My data comes from the information I have accumulated from different sources whereas I established a correlation between the dates, pick-ups, and p3's. That is why I previously asked others for NVC mailing dates so as to strengthen my model. I had five dates to work with so that wasn't too bad and it all came out well. The waybill numbers were merely "gaging sticks", if you will, to moniter the shipments. My model held up to scrutiny and I'll leave it at that. Keep the August 8 waybill number and check it periodically. -good luck
  12. Is it true that the Chinese embassy in D.C. doesnt accept visa applicatons by mail anymore?....wow!
  13. They're not hiring...lol... ... budget cuts u think??? I guess we're not classified or sensitive enough anymore!... http://www.state.gov/m/ds/career/c8857.htm
  14. Good to hear you got the cams on-line. what did you decide to use, net-meeting, yahoo? About the fee, if you go to BCIS website and to the list of forms, click on the downloadable I-129f and the instructions will be there, along with the fee. The fee is $110 up from $90 a year or two ago. Happy filing!...lol
  15. http://www.immigration.gov/graphics/index.htm The filng fee for the K3/I-129f is $110 Above is BCIS website. The fee is listed in the 'Immigration forms' page.
  16. Here's a cool site for custom made rings...... http://5xj.com/chinese.html ***party like it's 1999!***......(just had to add that...lol)
  17. How can we push DHL to deliver mails? Should we call the Chinese embassy in the US ? Could it be the GZ consulate's buying time? Call DHL? I don't think it is DHL's fault. Being a courier business, it seems that they would want to complete the order and move on but they are burdened by obtaining release/clearance documents, import license, etc. imposed by the Chinese Central Gov't. and this application/process procedure is initiated by the U.S. consulate/embassy at DHL's urging, and yes, there could be a little "foot-dragging" involved on the consulate's part but they say it's normal business. These are little bits and pieces I have picked up along the trail and I dont think I am too far off mark but that is as much as I can say about it. My information comes from phone calls,e-mails, and from others who have information. Also, my wife has been a tremendous help in aquiring reliable information. All this put together, I can come up with a decent picture of it all. The main thing is that the petitions are with the mail and not lost or forgotten. You ask if anything can be done about it? My answer to that is "no". The consulate will move at their own pace and like I was told on the phone one day by a quite testy individual, "no one can make demands of them." If you want my advice, forget about the process for now and focus your energies on your fiancee and the child. I know you know this, and don't need me to tell you but I will say it anyways based on what I have read in your posts about your situation. I am sure that Dave G. and Robhon has given you some good advice on what to do and I am sure all will work out fine. The process will move along without you having to worry about it. Take care of your loved ones first. %%- good luck
  18. tywy, Thank you for the useful information that you are providing. I was able to track the 7/18 shipment from DHL, thanks to you. Based on that info, I will FAX GZ with the info with a cc: to my Senator. Keep up the great work!! Thanks, R2 Wishing you the best!
  19. I took a big interest in this mailing procedure when I first learned of my petition being held since NVC mailed it on May 9th. Since then, I have been gathering as much information as I can on the subject and have compiled some facts from the data. From this, I can draw a few conclusions, but nothing concrete since some of the information was in contradiction with other pieces of information I obtained. However, it is a fact, and the most relevant, that petitions are among the bulk mail shipped by NVC and held in delay until cleared by customs. GZ calls this "normal business" and maybe it is, considering the amount of cases that are processed every month. The cases previously involved were from May 9th through June and up to July 8th, or at least the ones I know about in that time span. Half this mail was delivered on July 21st with the other half delivered the following week. People involved now can use this time frame as a bench mark for cases currently being held and I hope the ones with recent NVC mailing dates can take a sigh of relief by knowing the whereabouts of petitons. It is just part of the process and if one can see it as such then all is moving normal. Take my timeline for example...INS- 2 mos., NVC- 2 mos., and basically, GZ- 2.5 mos (including the delay time).... to P3 and my wife and I aren't done yet!. Just dont think of it as a delay but only a part of this long process that you knew was going to be long when you first sent in the petition. DHL calls it a delay because, in fact, it is a delay as far as they are concerned. DHL is responsible for delivering this mail and if they can't move it to their facilites from the airport because of customs then they call it as a delay. Again, I say that nothing seems to be consistent involving the entire process. Every case is different with very little similiarites if any. I think just knowing this and where the petitions are instead of not knowing can indeed be a relief to many. Hang in there good ppl!
  20. Same delay, Different month......carbon copy of previous months. Thanks for the 07-23 date. I will add it to my records. I tried soliciting the board for dates weeks ago but no bites. The numbers are DHL tracking numbers for bulk mails shipped and received.
  21. On both, the I-130 and the I-129f, I put my wife's name and address in Chinese characters which fit well on that line but I added a suppliment sheet listing her residence address and her mailing address in English and made a distinction to which was which. Yesterday I received the I-864 bill from NVC and they had her residence address listed on the letter asking if it is correct or not. It is correct but it isn't her mailing address. Also in this package was the DS-3032, "Choice of Agent and address" form. This form had her name on it along with the GUZ number and a barcode. I typed in the necessary info and mailed it to her today to sign, date and send it back to NVC. I suppose if I act as the agent in receiving any correspondance from NVC, all should be fine. Once again......."we shall see"
  22. DEFINITELY worth while!!!....save them by all means if only for keepsakes. My wife and I have thousands of them saved and just as many yahoo e-cards and letters. I have been saving them to CD-RW. Be careful to save them to your computer at least every 3-4 weeks. Last year I lost two months worth! Yahoo had deleted them. Since then, I try to save them every week to avoid losing any more. Yes, they only save to a text file thereby losing color and graphics but the words are there. I name them by date...ex: 08-22-03.txt or 082203.txt My wife has printed quite a few to take with her to the interview.
  23. Also from the Fedreal Register Vol. 66: Summary: BCIS published a rule in the Federal Register to implement the new K3 NIV. To obtain K3 status for an alien spouse, a U.S. citizen petitioner must first file an I-129F petition with BCIS in the United States. Confirmation of BCIS approval of the I-129F petition is required before a K3 may be issued and will be relayed to overseas posts by NVC. K3 processing overseas will closely mirror that of K1 fiance processing. If the marriage occurred abroad, a K3 must be issued in the country where the marriage took place.
  24. ------------------------------- From the Federal Register Vol. 66: Post Processing of K3 applicant ------------------------------- A. Notification/Packet 3: 18. Once post receives the scanned I-129F petition from NVC, post should send the beneficiary a letter developed by post that outlines documentary requirements for K3 and K4 issuance, instructions on where to undergo the required medical exam, and how to notify post (by mail or telephone) when they are "documentarily" prepared for an interview with a consular officer. Names of eligible K3 applicants will not be added to CLASS; proof of eligibility is the approved I-129F petition from NVC. *Send e-mail to GZ until you get a reply that they have your case and that p3 has been mailed to the applicant.
  25. Copy the posted waybill/airbill number. Open DHL site, paste the number in the "fast track waybill" field and hit "go". A tracking list will show the status of the shipment, updated every 24 hours. No question is stupid. The only stupid question it the question not asked. The way I understand it, NVC recently contracted with DHL Express courier to handle deliveries to GZ. How ever the procedure is handled, DHL had to obtain certain release documents because of a new procedure of some kind implimented by the Chinese central gov't. and enforced by CAN customs. These release documents, or diplomatic cover letters as they are called, had to be obtained by DHL with the help of the consulate before customs would release the mail and this takes time. It is an application process that takes time and which may suit the consulate well. In any case, if anyone is wondering, "what happend to my petition between NVC and GZ?", well, as I have told others, it sits until it clears customs with the proper documents and DHL can deliver it to the consulate. These are the hard facts and at least now you know whats going on. Hopefully it won't be a long wait and I wish everybody the best of luck but in the meantime, NVC can't tell you anything but the mailing date and GZ definitely can't tell you anything until they have the case loaded in the computers. The best you can do now is keep track of the mail. I hope I am wrong. Nothing is consistant here but more than likely, I am right. ---I was told that NVC sends out petitions twice a month, 50 or so petitions to a box. That would correspond to the dates of this so called "delay" mail...05-09, 22...06-12, 27...07-08, 18...08-08, 08-??...I'll take a guess,,,I say yesterday, Friday August 22...lol. Any takers? -good luck and have patience. your time will definitely come!
