  1. trust me, nothing but pink for you 3. I suggest attending ACH on monday and get your nerves relaxed. I do plan on attending, as I am going to the ACS at 0900 on Monday too, to get a document notarized.. I realize pricy but it is more face time for me in the Consulate to assure them I am there for my wife. dan
  2. Congrats and I am headed to Guangzhou tomorrow to be with my wife for her interview on Tuesday also. I am thinking positive that all will be good. But I am nervous... Dan
  3. our interview date is very important as my wife is nearly 5 months pregnant. As we all know we are given but only 9.... I understand that our own government doesn't care about the fact that my wife is pregnant. For this person they would not care where it is born. I have done all I can do and now it comes down to a few minutes in front of a thick glass window... I am thinking positive... dan
  4. Hello; We'll we are just about there, our interview is less than two weeks away and I'll be leaving next week to be with the wife for our interview. I am just wondering if there are any last suggestions prior to our interview. Or maybe just some hand holding.. All these months come down to just minutes... Thanks Dan
  5. Thanks, I think the crackers in the purse is a good idea. Maybe try to find some of those "breakfast" bar things in China. I am sure we will eat good the morning before, my wife lives in Guangzhou, so we will be at her place. About a 20 minute drive to the Consulate. I'll be leaving next week to be with the wife. Need to go over all documents again and to prepare her for the interview. All medicals / vaccinations done, now just to organize and ask her about her husband.. me .... A pre-interview interview..... Thanks Dan
  6. Why you maybe thinking, "Why is he asking about food in the consulate?" I'll tell you.. My Wife will be just about 5 months pregnant at the interview on 15 June. Her doctor said that she really can't go a long period of time without eating for the health of my wife and our child. So, does anyone know if they would allow an exception, seeing that my wife is pregnant? or Not.. If Not, I am now wondering what to do.. It is a health related matter. Thanks Dan Leaving for Guangzhou in 10 Days
  7. is 221g for Bona Fide Relationship ?? I always get confused on this.. Also makes me nervous about our interview .. 15 June -- Any words of wisdom? Dan Seattle
  8. Well, not considering the mistake i made of thinking that statement on the packet 4 was applying to both persons, it still solves one thing: what details djwalker60 should include on his statement. Although technically that statement isn't aimed towards him, the petitioner's ex's info is nevertheless a more-than-uncommon denial at GUZ- one which he should prepare for to help prevent a possible denial- and p4 contains the details as to what it should include. I don't know how you missed that. Your right I miss how the P4 applies at how to the petitioner and I miss how you can accuse people of not being able to read and then just dismiss your own reading ability mistake. I don't think the petitioner's ex info. is a more than uncommon denial at GUZ. I know many who were married before we never had to supply this information. It depends on the specific case and red flags that an ex-marriage could raise (i.e. the petitioner and ex still have joint property together, etc.). But anybody can bring what they want...just don't expect that GUZ will take it if they have decided to stall or deny the visa. And definitely don't expect that one would have been able to open a can of whoop ass on GUZ if blue or white slipped as you implied in another post that you would have done. I have tried my best to review reasons as to blue slips. So far from my research I have come up with some basic reasons, Such as: Lack of proof of bona fide relationship - lack of pictures, emails, phone bills, things of this nature: Correct? On the bona fide relationship side,,, my wife is pregnant with our first child.... Maybe that will help Lack of financial Support ( I make 100K a year so this for me is a non-issue) Not brining enough to prove Financial worthiness, ie. three years of taxes, or 3 years of tax transcripts, employer letter, paystubs, w2 statements.. I have then all plus more But beyond that, the information eludes me as to what else can be asked. I am sure a question or two about when we meet? how we meet? Why did I divorce my ex-wife? Plus the other basic questions about me, my work, my family, where I live. Did I miss anything? Sorry to bore all of you with these days of nerves, but I am hoping those that have gone through this can instill upon me some things that I may have over looked? Something that only the Experience of the moment can provide. But as in any situation, each situation is different. But yet, as different as they may seem each interview is the same.. An Oxymoron? or .... I do appreciate any and all comments, and thank each of you for your time in reading and posting your thoughts and experiences for me. Thanks Dan Seattle, WA
  9. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guangzho...t-%20Dec_09.pdf We were talking about the petitioner provide ex-wife information. This is the requirement for the beneficiary (i.e. the IV applicant) not the petitioner. I being the petitioner and yes, made a previous error of judgement and now have a vicious ex-wife for many years now.. I have submitted the divorce decree with the I-130, so I should (and I do)have copies of the (my divorce) decree for the wife during the interview? Just in case she is again asked for it, Correct? But If I was a guessing man i would say, yes because all documents sent to the National visa Center were emailed, I did Electronic processing. At any rate, I will be sure that I have all documents with me, or should I say my wife will have to haul around those many pounds of paper to the 5th floor... Dan
  10. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/guangzho...t-%20Dec_09.pdf From what I understand the above statement from the OF-171 is for the Beneficary and not the petitioner, correct? That is How I have interepeted the statement, becuase the OF-171 starts out by saying "The Consulate is ready to proceed with your immigrant visa application by granting you (and your derivatives) an interview" Thus meaning the Beneficiary. In my case, my wife has never been married before, thus a mute point.. Dan
  11. When you mean "how to use it?" are you meaning, only to give if asked for, correct? I think as long as she answers them, a written document should not be needed. But I will prepare a short one, just in case. This is driving me nuts..... Thanks Dan
  12. So, what we are saying is to have the information I have, "avaliable" just in case they ask for it, correct? So, the wife should or should not offer up this document? As I previously stated, I put the following information: name ssn (have it from old income tax return) last known location - from a nearly two years ago date we divorced I realize that every situation requires a different approach, different supporting documents. The reason I am giving my wife this document is "just in case" they ask for it. Now, they may only ask for the wife about my ex.... no more.. Getting those pre-interivew jitters.... Dan
  13. Ok, this maybe a really stupid question... I've prepared a document about the ex-wife. It had information as to when & how we meet, when we divorced, her ssn number, last know residence but No Telephone number. Here is the dumb question: Will it be an issue if I do NOT have her current telephone number? .. Just asking Dan
  14. Note: The notary at the consulate more than likely has no connection to the IV Unit, the notary is part of the ACS unit, the VO that will interview your wife is part of the IV unit. All a notary is for is to verify that it is YOU who are signing the document. So if it is a notary in the states or at the consulate makes no difference. Understand, So, I'll just get any documents notarized here in the states. I've been reading alot about the interviews that take place in The US Consulate in Guangzhou. It appears to me that there are a few areas that they concentrate on. Bon Fide Relationship "Biggest one i think" Financials - Missing 3 years of taxes How much does the sponser make ? How many times has the sponser been to China Any CCP ties ? incorrectly notarized documents Missing forms - i.e P3 Supplements Sound about right? I've read consulate reviews going back to January 2009, and in the past year these are the main items. Any thoughts?
  15. From my own personal experiences, no. I'm assuming in my ACS post that he was matching dates. He didn't tell me that that's what he was doing. I was simply guessing from my observations 20 feet away. He may have been thinking about what he was going to eat for lunch for all I know. If I had the option to get something notarized for free, I would have taken it. When I first turned in my I-130, I submitted copies of my birth cert and SSN card, the copies were made in the US and notarized as copies of the originals (free at a bank). They wanted to see the notary's stamp, but after concluding it was legit, they happily took the notarized copies. EDITED content After reading, it appears that it really doesn't matter if it is notarized in the States or the US Consulate. Because I filed Electronically at the NVC, I emailed them the "new" EOR that was notarized here in the states. According to the NVC, "ALL" documents emailed to the NVC were forwarded to the Consulate. So, they have the newley update, notarized (copy) EOR. The wife will have all "Orginial" documents for the interview as we have been told to do becuase we did do electronic processing. Now, there has been a lot "thoughts" about the interview process. Some say that the decision has already been made even before teh interview starts, some say that the interview is a deciding factor in granting the wife her visa. Any further thoughts? I guess because of the "horror stories" coming out of Guangzhou, my nerves are getting the best of me already. We have every possible document I can think of and more. Evidence, going back to nearly day one. I could make a list, but I'd probably bore everyone. But Maybe I will just as a double check from those who have been there. Any issues If I submit my list for "review" from those in the know ??? Dan
  16. FEE; $30 first doc, $20 for each additional doc. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/no...ces_260608.html Better to do this in the USA BEFORE going over, the fee at a US bank is FREE! But..... Do you not think that having it done at the US Consulate will carry more "weight"? Addtionally, "they" will see it? Thoughts? I got my EOR notarized at GUZ. It was a waste of time and money. So, it doesn't really matter. In Reference to the EOR. When I submitted our documents to the NVC, electronically. I submitted a newly typed and notarized EOR. I have also been told that I should submit yet another one. A short handwritten one... Good idea or Not?

  18. Greetings: My wife has her interview on 15 June a Tuesday. I will be arriving in Guangzhou before that. So I am wondering if it is a good idea to go to ACH prior to the interview the Monday before? If I did go, what are some good things to point out to the VO about our case? Should I inform them that I am there supporting her? Should I inform them that she is almost 5 months pregnant with our Child? Should I let them know she really wants to try to have the interview in English? Should I try to hand over a new EOR Letter? What other possible things I could offer up that would benefit our case? Oh, I should be sure that the wife has my passport to give to the VO, Correct ? anything else?? Any all suggestions are welcome.. The nervous have started already... Leaving 12 June to be with the wife for the interview. Thanks Dan Seattle i went in to make 2 points that i did have concerns with - the friendly junior officer not only listened patiently, but assured me that he took notes on the case computer thus made sure that the actual VO will read the notes before the interview. I was instantly relieved. We then chatted a good few minutes, covering attractions and delicacy temptations in GZ, me being the last on line for ACH. it's been a worthy visit - you get to see where exactly the interview will take place. Thanks, I believe I will attend. I also want to get my new handwritten EOR Notarized by someone in the US Consulate. Cost for Notary?? Alsi I thinki it will probably carry more weight than getting it notarized here in the States before I leave in 22 days, but who is counting. Now, after reading the post before it said "American citizens are not permitted to accompany NIV applicants" So, I am assuming it is the same for Immigrant Visa Applicants too, correct ?? Any other last minute advice for the interview? Thanks

  20. Dan she just went to the health clinic here and they gave her: MMR Tetanus Chicken Pox and Hep B. They say she has to come back in 2 months for more. Can we have what she got today transfered to the I-693 by a CS and send in papers or do we wait for 2 more months? Also the cost I think was really high......$143.00?????? Robert The clinic forgot Robecella. Reading this, I have a question. My Wife is 4 months pregnant now and she informs me that she cannot find, nor does she have a record of shots. Because of her pregnancy, what shots will then be required? She cannot have a battery of test done before the interview next month because of the pregnancy.. So I am confused on what to do about this? Dan
  21. Someone posted a question the other day like that, however same day there was some work being done on the site by an admin, and several posts got corrupted and deleted. In a way, yes. I am nervous about this interview. Why you may ask.?? We'll I guess it is because of all of the "stories" I hear coming out of Guangzhou about how difficult they can be, or that some of the Consular officers are not really too nice to our wives / finacee's. What that said, I have scoured the site(s) and have come up with lots of questions to ask the wife to be sure she is aware of the procedure. Also, I have read that she should never "offer" any information unless a question is asked. Also, try to be sure she gives them the photos and all financials. I am flying there to be with her for the interview. Plane tickets, expensive and for some odd reason really difficult to get ticket all of the way to Guangzhou. So I'll be flying to Hong Kong and getting a bus to Guangzhou. Not difficult. We'll thanks for reading and I wrote this because I guess of my nervous energy about this interview and also to see if there were any last minute tips for the interview. Thanks Dan
  22. I did electronic filing and everything was emailed to NVC. Nothing was ever mailed to NVC, will just need to bring all original documents need to be brought to interview. So YES, if electronic filing you need not mail anything.. SO it is possible. Dan
  23. Thank You. I've started to look at different Airlines. Eva Air seems ok, but prices are still around 1500 - 2000 USD. Seems High, especially since I am on the west coast. You'd think it would be cheaper from Seattle... But Nooooooo... Only Flights I see are to Hong Kong... at 1600.00... Any suggestions? Can't seem to get a flight all the way to Guangzhou.
