  2. I've searched until my eyes hurt.. where can i find the P3 Supplement form? Dan
  3. I'll be departing to see the wife next Friday and returning the 26th. By then I should be able to call then? Yep! one thing, I have read two different things about "tracking" the case at this stage, NVC or DOS? If DOS is there a website for doing this? Are there specific website from the NVC for tracking, payments, etc? if so where can i find this list? Dan

  5. I am sure that there are a difference of opionions / thoughts on this, but how long should I wait before I begin my quest to find out our case number from the National Visa Center? I have been reading the numerious posts on what I need to do once I do get the case number so that we can "OPTIN" for the electronic filing. I am just trying to get ahead and prepare everything so that when we do have our number from NVC, we can move forward. Thank You For you Advice & Input Dan
  6. All she needs is to have them put a little rubber stamp that says in Chinese "Divorced" next to the part where it has her marital status. She'll probably have to bring her divorce certificate -- a little book somewhat similar to the marriage certificate. No need to have any of the others removed from her hukou book. In fact, that would be even more difficult since you can never remove anybody unless they are transferred to another hukou book. For your Marriability Affidavit, I made the mistake and only put my middle initial. You need to put your name as it appears in your passport, Exactly as it appears in your passport. I did it wrong and had to run back to the US Consulate and have them redo the affidiavit at a moments notice and they did it. Just from my lessons learned. Dan
  7. Just Curious about the reliability of the USCIS website. I can logon and see when our file was last updated, or "touched" I believe the term is. But once a decision is made, how many actually see this changed? or it is just all of a sudden you get an email, or a letter in the mail? Just Curious because of what I was recently told by USCIS. Thanks Dan
  8. We'll I am going to stick my head out there and give a list of all of the items that I have gathered for our "interview" when the time comes. I have created a "check list" of items that I have gathered from all of my readings here and from other resources. This is by no means a hard core listing of items that everyone should have. But I thought I'd share what i have gathered. If I have missed something, or maybe I have too Much, Please let me know your feed back. Maybe it can help others. 9. Our friends at the Guangzhou Consulate, my my that is a first!!!! as you can see it is in quotes.........
  10. Question / Concern about the dates on the DS-230 in relation to the dates of residency. My Wife moved from Nanning to Guangzhou Earlier than what appears on her police reports. So, If my wife actually moved from one city to another, say on the 1st of April 2000, but the Police report reflects "No Crimes Committed From 4 April 2001 - 22 January 2010". What date should I use on the DS-230? Actuall Physcial Date she moved, or the date reflected on the Police certificate? I hope I am not confusing anyone.. i really want these documents to be without question from the view point of our "friends" at the Guangzhou Consulate. thank You Dan
  11. I've been reading about the DS-230 and it's "Cover Sheet". I have seen and filled out the wife's DS-230 (in preperation for forth coming events). But..... Cover Sheet ? B) Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank You Dan
  12. Just looked at my 2009 Transcripts, no such line "Total Positive Income". I do not know if the employer actually will report Gross becuase there are Pre-Tax items that reduce your "taxable" income. From that I can only ascertain that the IRS only knows about your taxable income, correct? With that said, would it be safe to put the largest number either if it was on your W2 or your Transcripts. I say this becuase on my 2007 W2, it is less than my transcripts. So for my 2007 income i put the gross amount from my Transcripts and indicated that on a cover letter for my I-864 "packages".. Does this sound like a prudent / accetable thing to do? Gross income from transcripts. Note: If you are using transcripts, you DO NOT need to attach Copy of return (1040,W2,1099) per the directions included with form I-864. Give them the transcripts only, this way there is no questioning the differences. I-864 instructions Page 8 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864.pdf The only thing about this is that my 2008 & 2009 W2 show a higher income than my tax transcripts show, almost by 10K. BUT my 2007 Tax transcripts show about 20K higher than the one W2 I have. This is why I have thoughts about including them all. Do you really think there can be some confusion? Just want to show my "GROSS INCOME" so that they can see how much i truly make.

  14. In the process of finalizing all of my I-864 documentation, I have found differences of Income levels from my transcripts to my W2 statments from my company. I understand on the W2 the employer will give your "gross" income before all 'pre-tax' deductions. Where as the tax transcripts will give the "adjusted gross income'. Because we want to show the maximum amont of income on the I-864, it is always better to give the "gross income" from the W2, Correct? But, I am also submitting three years of tax transcripts, I got my 2009 today because I have already filed my taxes. Have their been any issues where the Consular Officer see's a differences in income and questions it? or are they aware that there can be slight differences? Any information on this matter would be appreciated. thank you Dan
  15. Bringing back this subject, I realize that our case is new, but in the last week our case has been "Touched" four times. What can this really mean? Yes i maybe the block head here and really do not understand what is happening but it sure seems odd so much activity within one week and so soon. I have read it can mean getting close to a decision or it is just being moved around a lot. Who knows because USCIS sure will not tell you anything. Dan
  16. I have driven in Guangzhou and in Nanning. Nanning is a "trip" watch out for the thousands of scooters and bicycles. They will just jump right in front of you. The other drivers, well the majority i have driven with were slow and had no idea how to merge onto the road, or signal or anything. It is like a somewhat organized smash up derby with no smash ups.. If you drive.. You need to be so very careful watching for the other driver. In a way fun too.. But it was ok.. I'm sure you would be ok. Dan
  17. So it probably would be a good idea to have it, just in case. But Not Necessary. I think my wife will need a two wheel cart by the time i get done with gather documents.. Just for grins I added up the phone calls for the last 4 months.. totals 600+ calls.. about 6 a day, and i have all phone bills.... So, I will write up a nice very short statement about ex-wife.. just in case they ask. Thanks Dan I would advocate bring lots of supporting evidence, but not go crazy with any one type. We tried to balance quantity with quality and breadth. You also don't want to carry so much that you have to fumble around the mound of docs to look for stuff either, because that can really tick off the VOs and give you a blue slip. BTW, let me explain the meaning of "lots", I don't actually mean a wheel barrow full. Think about how much your SO can safely/comfortably carry without breaking the old back. Actually, I remembered reading in the instructions about the restrictions on the type of luggage you can't bring into the Consulate. Like anything resembling roller type suit cases, etc. You can't even bring in a business style briefcase. We ended up using a backpack, a rather large one, think professional back packer type. And we had a filing system for locating stuff within it. ;-) EDIT: Also I agree with others' comments. I wouldn't volunteer stuff during the interview unless you really think it would do you a lot of good. After all, why open yourself up for more questioning. Thank you for the input, sounds like when i was in the military, never give them anything unless they ask for it. As far as the new EOR goes, I guess i will just put it in the folder that i have for all of the evidence of our relationship which has the original and certified copy of the deed to the house with her name on it, new life insurance policy with her name, utility bills, and more.. I'll put it on top of that pile, also seems like i need to stream line the letter. With the notary page it is 5 pages long. I read another thread they got a blue slip because the EOR did not include information about what they did when in Guangzhou. Odd Question, but i edited the letter to include what we did when i was with the wife.. Back pack a good idea and all information is in folders, and will be marked as to the contents, I will be sure the wife knows what folders have what so she can quickly give them the docs. I also read here, it is a good idea to keep all originals separate, such as our marriage certificates, police reports, birth certificates. True ?? or put them with the copies in an organized matter ? lastly, is there any particular order of documents they ask for during the interview? thanks again Dan

  19. Speaking of Questions: In my initial Evolution of Relationship letter, I lightly touched upon my previous marriage and divorce. Does anyone think it is necessary to write up a separate letter explaining events around the divorce with the ex? Such as if the Consulate Office ask the wife "why did he divorce his wife?" she can answer and then give them the letter? even if they do not want it, would it be good to have ? Just thinking of things to have.. GUZ makes me nervous Dan
  20. How about the thought of just going to listen, one can learn a lot from listening to others. Maybe I can learn something from this...
  21. Does getting the Evolution of letter notarized at GUZ carry more "weight" than getting it notarized here in the US ? Just want to have everything done correctly Dan
  22. I remember a similar feeling. Take Carl's (Warpedbored) advice and divide up the process into two steps. As you're on each step, make simple lists of the documents and evidence you will be gathering, and then start getting it. Step 2 (consulate) is more intensive, especially if you didn't "front load," but I don't think it's nearly as overwhelming as it seems at the outset. You'll figure it out and get through just fine. I believe I did "Front Load" initial I-130 was about 8lbs with 4" of documents, proof of relationship, deed to house, initial Evolution of Relationship Letter, 80 photos of us together, emails, phone bills, chat sessions, utility bills and all I-130 required documents. So I think I did do the "Front Loading" as it was suggested here. About the "EOR" letter, can we give another one, updated version at the interview? if so when can she give it to them? Dan
  23. Should I take the Red Pill or Blue Pill ? I know it's an old movie now, but sure seems the more I read, the more confusion sets in, the more my brain feels as if it will explode. Oh, saw on the USCIS website our case was "touched" whatever that means.. Dan
  24. As I read the next steps, after NOA2 (still waiting) we are eligible for electronic filing. I have read and re-read most threads about this process. However, there is still confusion. As I read this I see two email addresses. one is Electronic Processing E-mail Address for Guangzhou: NVCGuangzhou@state.gov and the other is: NVCElectronic@state.gov. BUT: Reading on even more it says this: "If you decide to participate, you must send an e-mail to the Post-specific Electronic Processing email address referenced in the Eligibility PDF you previously read. When completing the e-mail:" In this Eligibility PDF, the PDF references the NVCGuangzhou@state.gov email address. So in my fits of confusion, which email address do we send to first? NVCElectronic@state.gov or NVCGuangzhou@state.gov ? Can some please clarify this for me? Thank You Dan
  25. We'll, the more and more i dig into the processes after we get NOA2, the more i seem to get confused. I am trying to make lists to organize our life's and to get everything prepared for the electronic processing, then onto the consulate interview. Then i read more and get either more information to grasp or different information and then more confusion and then more worries.. Any way to really get a good grasp on everything we need to do for the next phases, NVC Electronic Process and then on to the Interview Process. I've read a lot of good post, especially the one about "the kitchen sink" about what to have and to bring, etc. I like list and it was a well thought out organized list which has and is helping me a lot.. Just thought i'd throw this out there, not really frustrated... Just get confused at times at this whole process. I hope to put everything together that i've learned from all that i have read. One thing that was confusing is the email for OPTIN at NVC. It says not only here but on many sites that my wife needs to send in the email. Just for fun, i called the NVC, much nicer than USCIS, they told me that either I can send the email or my wife. Just to include all email addresses that we want to get information at. We'll hope all my hair doesn't get grey. Dan
