  1. I'm aware what date it is.... I just felt you were implying the worksheet could be used naked without a tax return, since 2008 taxes won't be filed before at least 2 months from now, since I don't generally get a w2 until Feburary What I'm thinking is that you'll know when you check the worksheet whether you can get your rebate with the 2008 taxes. If not, well, the only thing left to try is the amended return for 2007. But I think the 2008 worksheet will be both simpler and faster. just a quick question? I've seen a thread somewhere regarding ITIN. Basically, when you obtain your new SSN , you need to inform IRS about the change, cos you won't be using your ITIN anymore for the next tax filing year. Is this true?....If that's true, how would you go about informing them?..call them or they would automatically know when you use your new SSN to file next year?.......please help clarify this, thank you ....
  2. how long can you go back for an amended return? is there a time limit? thanks much in advance.
  3. IMHO, for those who got turned down, denied, rejected, whatever the right word it is, by the POWERFUL " NON-BONAFIDE", at this point, guys, there's no need for hostility for each other, the only way to regain control of this one-sided played game is to prove them "non-bonafide" BONAFIDE by investing more time, evidences and sincerity into your relationship and do more home work before your next interview. clintion747 is a very good example of overcoming his denied K-1 visa by spending more time and thought in buliding a much more stronger case. Your sincerity and investment in your relationship will eventually overcome whatever it's needed to be overcome in your cases. Don't fight among each other guys, and instead work together to seek solutions to your problems. I totally understand frustrations in this long process, but only you and SO are gonna suffer if you can't get them here to be reunited with you. YOU CAN'T FIGHT THE " NON-BONAFIDE" IN THE HARD WAYS, BUT YOU CAN PLAY ALONG WITH THEM IN THE SOFT WAYS. YOU WILL ONLY LOSE IF KEEPING DEMANDING YOUR "RIGHTS". IT'S A GAME, KNOW THE GAME AND PLAY ALONG, SOFTLY. GOOD LUCK THEM ALL OF YOU. THIS IS A GOOD BOARD FOR ADVICES AND EXPERIENCES.
  4. can you still file for an amended return for 2006? is it too late? i got married in 2006, but i filed as single for that year not knowing that i could file jointly without the SS#. defendo- I don't think your spouse's visa being denied majorly has anything to do with u having filed separately. did you get a white or blue?..
  5. So, have received any email from the Acting Immigrant Visa Chief about his/her review of the case? Is your petition gonna be a NOID despite your meetings at GUZ with other Con off? and how are you gonna appeal the NOID? Your case was denied based on the Conoff's subjective" non-bonafide" relationship and it's non-appealable according to the so called bonafide non-reveiwablility given to back the conoff's up. If your case was a K-1 then you can pursuit CR-1 or K-3 once it was denied for non-bonafide, now that yours is K-3 and it was turned down your only option might be your CR-1 or appealing your k-3 NOID which will most likely gonna take a long time. man...that non-bonafide rule has killed a lot cases and there's nothing you can do about it. These experiences of non-bonafide rejection have told us and warned us that you somehow have to review your petitions before you summit it in those conoff's eyes and their standpoint of view. so be prepared and provide as much evidences as possible on your application and give them no excuses of finding you non-bonafide. good luck stepbrow and i hope you can put up a good fight with them and show them about your bonafidability.
  6. wife came here on march 2008 and we filed jointly for the year of 2007. Since she didn't have SS# by the time we filed our tax so we used a ITIN and because she didn't have a SS#, we didn't qualified for any simulus payment for the year of 2007. Now she has sucessfully got through the AOS process and obtained her greencard and a SS. now i've got 2 questions? 1, How did we claim our stimulus money back for the year of 2007 the following is the link: http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=181995,00.html I just don't know how to process it. 2, for the year of 2008, when we file next year, do we need to tell IRS that my wife has gotten a SS# now and will be using that SS for the year of 2008, since she used her ITIN for 2007. any opinions and helps will be greatly appreciated
  7. didn't mean to scare you. please read the following link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=164408
  8. i think on your interview notice, it states that you can only reschedule your appointment under emergency situations. and even if you are able to reschedule it for another date, they might give you a date before your 2nd anniversary since you have 2.5 months room. it's your shot, but if you do and lucky enough to reschedule to date behond your 2nd anniversary date, make sure you get a confirmation that your appointment has been rescheduled, otherwise it might mess up everything, you know how the people in the govement work..they could be very forgetful sometimes.....so good luck...if you are worried about money and want to life condition later...you are safer going to your original appointment.
  9. congract gino how long ago did you receive your notice for interview?....was it long before the interview day?...i am currently waiting for my interview notice to come in the mail....got my ead on 6-26-08.... anybody know how soon one will be scheduled for interview after they received ead?.......thanks in advance.. Inailit
  10. biometirics recieved this morning, and it's for two: I-485 and I-765..and i-765 noa has been sent on the same day as I-485, but was never received. so my theory that the mail got lost was confirmed....now, should i call and request another NOA I-765 or is that really not needed...just wondering i might have to use it in the future...thoughts, guys?... thank you andy
  11. filed I-485 and I-765 ( sent on april 9th) concurrently, received NOA for I-485 on April 21th, and am still waiting for NoA for I-765. As i can see from a lot people's timeline, if I-485 and I-765 were filed concurrently, NoAs for both would be recieved at the same time. What went wrong here with my I-765?...My guess would be: they either didn't see it in the envelope i sent along with the I-485 even i put it orderly and nicely in a seperate folder and stated in my letter of contents that i am filing concurrently with the I-485? or they processed it and NoA was sent, but lost in the mail?...confused...what would the the senario here that make sense, guy?....i guess one way to find out is if that NOA MSC number appears on the biometircs appoints with the I-485's...haven't received biometrics yet...hopefully maybe in a few days...OR, is there a chance that i filed the wrong form http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-765.pdf ( i doubted it). the only logical thing for me in this senario is that they must have overlooked it.
  12. "delivered" message updated finally, case closed.....took them a week to update somethng that has been delivered 7 days ago.
  13. i ll give it a couple days, see if it comes in the mail. what should i do if it doesn't come in the mail. is there a number to call to find out...?
  14. Dont they come usually come at the same day?.....or would the other one come later?...
  15. Hi, do you know if NOA1 for I-485 and I-765 come together if you file them together?...i recently filed I-485 and I-765 togehter in the same folder...and today, i only received one NOA1 for i-485, no noa1 for i-765 yet...will it come later in the mail?...or you think you forget.....i put the I-485 and I-765 in a separate folder but in same evenlope...is it possible that they might have overlooked it....any suggestion what to do if the NOA1 for i-765 doesn't come in the mail in the future?........thank you... andy
  16. Yes, plan on doing that for her when we register with USCIS and submit Case Number. Abit tough to do since her English is limited and I am not her representative. michael, try to understand whe she really needs at this point?...i don't know the whole story between the wife and the husband, first of all, how did the two of them get to know each other and get married....just curious...and why would she marry him if she he treats her so awful?.....does she like living here in the states?....what about her family in china....money is one thing...but the most important thing for her now is to find out what she really needs.....how is she gonna survive here in the states when he dies...even with some of his money....michael...if you really want to help her....tell your wife to findout what she really needs....if you don't know what she really needs ..you cant really help her at her best interest....good luck....and michael...you are certainly and unqestionably a very nice person and your wife should be really glad that she found you....or you found her......
  17. If her green card expires before she leaves china, they might not let her get on the plane at the airport in china. I am not sure if it's different that she has the extension letter. i had witnessed at the shanghai pudong airport that someone trying to return to the u.s with an expired greencard being stopped and delayed and was told that he couldn't leave on that day. it would be better just to check with the airport first, just to make sure, you don't wanna take that chance and get rejected at the airport.....
  18. thanks guys...i will try to do that once i receive the NOA1...check has just been clear from the bank today....so i should expect the NOA1s soon rite?... Andy
  19. so what do u say, Randy?...shouldn't worry about it?...give them sometime...i totally understand that they might be busy processing tax return..the processing part..i truely understand.....i just want to make sure they got my mail ..that's all....i mean, usually..when you send something certified...you wanna make sure the receipient got it....so you don't have to worry about it.....and when it's done..the tracking system should have said " delivered" ....not like keeping people hanging ...just realized that Usps 's tracking and confriming system is worthless....i hope they got it...otherwise, i would have to file again....how would i even know if they get it...if that stupid message stays there forever and with no updates.....any suggestions what to do?....thanks andy

  23. Hi I just realized that i made a mistake when i file I-485......instead of making the check to "u.s department of homeland security" i wrote it to "USCIS"......wondering what i should do to correct that....or they'll just cash the check with no problem?....my application has been sent out since april 9th..and they got it on april 13th...and today's 18th..and the check hasn't been cashed yet......any suggestions ....?... thank you andy

  25. Hi, as the tax return deadline is approaching...i have a question about the ITN...my wife came here on a k3 on feb this year...and i am going to file jointly with her for 2007's tax return....i know that she has to get an ITN for doing that (because she hasn't had a social yet)....now my question is...how would she go about getting that ITN? do we have to wait for that ITN to come to the mail first and then file along with 1040 (tax form) OR do i just fill out the ITN form together with the 1040?....can it be done electronically or do i have to file it in paper....please tell me exactly what to do..........thanks..guys.... Andy
