  1. From my experience is that you never know, just be prepared. If you follow CFL closely, you will see trends like the VO you have at ACH will most likely be your fiancee's interviewing VO. When I was at ACH (before Mei's interview), they skipped a few numbers past me then called me up. When I was sitting there, I could see that the men were positioned facing our left and the women VOs were to the right. Looking at my number sequence, I was heading for the right side. And has been mentioned many many times, the women VOs interview often very differently from the men. Personally that is something that I wonder is ever addressed at GUZ, but of course is another topic....... Anyway, I got 2 male VOs. So I felt fortunate and I am guessing that one VO was in training, but both answered my questions. Often you hear of petitioners having to think of good questions to ask. Well, I had a list and had it in outline form, so I would not forget anything and ask in a logical manner...... That all went great and I requested a couple of times for the interview in Chinese, since I knew Mei would be nervous and of course more comfortable in Chinese. Also mentioned at ACS. Well, we got the twist......Woman VO for the interview that was conducted in all English....... Mei did great and was extremely excited, but not what I had expected. I would hope that Mei could have requested Chinese, but she simply went with the questioning. So be prepared and since she is planning on coming here, the more English she knows now is a plus. Classes and/or practice.... Good luck!
  2. And Kyle it seems that you have a good handle on this, but I totally agree with Randy on painting a picture of your relationship. Your whole petition should do this and the EOR and photos aside from all the documents, forms and receipts allow you to add the finishing touches...
  3. In 2005, a close friend got me interested in this process, since he was engaged to a Chinese woman. He was using CB to help him file his petition. In 2008, I also became engaged to an amazing Chinese woman. So to try and answer your laopo's concerns about writing about your future plans, I will simply say that I drew from all sources I could to file. My friend's petition back in 2005 had an attachment to the I-129F with these questions: Have you communicated with the beneficiary before meeting? If so, how long? When and how did you meet the beneficiary? Have you met the beneficiary's family? When? Where? Does the beneficiary speak and understand your language? What are the beneficiary's hobbies and interests? What are your hobbies and interests? What arrangements have been made for the wedding? When do you intend to enter into a lawful marriage with the beneficiary? If not for my friend, I would have never seen these questions as an attachment to the I-129F, although most are discussed here at CFL. And good things to mention in your EOR. But back to your future plans, as you can see from these questions, they only ask about a future wedding, which of course you have covered. And you seldom hear even K-1s talk about this anymore, since GUZ makes a point of you not making any future plans until you have the visa in hand, which is indeed true. Also talked about many times here. So how could GUZ reasonably expect you to have future plans in the US without a visa. So focus on the visa and not have the wife worry. I can think of no future plans that you could mention to a VO that would help you get your visa. I can think of several that would only hurt like starting your own drug cartel, etc.....so you get the idea... I was fortunate that the Vice Consul at GUZ read my EOR. It was 2.5 pages followed with a 1 page detailed timeline that addressed how we met, my trips, the major things we did together, our engagement, how we communicated, how we cared for each other, etc.... Everything aimed at the bon a fide relationship issue and at the end a brief comment about the public charge criteria. She enjoyed it. She told me it takes her about 4 secs to scan a page. And she was good, since she asked me several questions after reading and also threw in a few complimentary comments. So good luck........I hope this helps.
  4. Also the importance of recent photos of you together and especially if you have some with her family....... You never know what the VO needs or may ask for, but you can almost rest assured about requesting PHOTOS....
  5. Awesome, Mike and Hong......... And thanks for your help!
  6. I think she can get a cheap second hand phone. She should know more living in China. Please do keep me posted on the police report. From what others are saying, it's only needed for the interview at GUZ... Thanks! The plan now is to have her get another police report. Better safe than sorry... So thanks Dan and Randy. As far as the phone, she misses it too much, so she is already ahead of me. New number when she reaches GZ....
  7. Thanks so much......I have been reading the AOS info for awhile, but do not recall seeing this recently with K-visas....... Her company phone was returned yesterday, so now we are doing the email thing. Keep wondering if I/we should get her a new phone instead of now depending only on emails to stay in touch.... Any additional thoughts, she will be with her elder sister (Shenzhen) a week and then her mother the final 2 weeks (Huadu/Yinde/Guangzhou). Best to let her get a short term phone in Shenzhen/Guangzhou or should I FED-EX her a phone from here? Probably cheapest for her to buy one there....I think I remember something on this before, but looking at 3 weeks of emails..... But I am shooting her an email now about this thread. Thanks.....
  8. As you all know, it takes awhile to get all of the required documents together to file a petition and then go through the process.... Mei had to stay and train her replacement and now is able to come join me, while spending the last few days with her family, but she also just reminded me that her certificates she gathered last mid-August have now expired.... Does she need current ones to marry here in the States or at POE, AOS, etc? Thanks......... Henry
  9. Dave, Great write-up and congratulations........ You did make up for all your previous short posts The young Asian woman that you first met at ACS sounds the same. She is a gatekeeper as you probably know and not a VO although trained. She knew about not having to notarize the new I-134 form, but had no problem moving our 2.5 page EOR to be notarized. So she although not your laopo saved you $30 that is very Chinese As they may now continue to address this as unnecessary -- notarized recent detailed EOR (like has been mentioned and you thought), it is simply good insurance that you were there and provided the document as authentic. And they have looked at passport stamps in the past especially Russia. So good to keep her informed of your past travels...although not really an issue.... Was waiting to see your result.......again.......CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  10. Remember reading about your shaky start and thinking of withdrawing your petition....so nice to see how things have progressed.... Congratulations. Hope everything continues to go smoothly for you both...Have a safe trip
  11. I am a relatively new member and thus part of the collective experience, I can comment on what others have posted and have done, but that is best left to the moderators of this forum, so I am simply providing you with the info from our experience. I would think that some may have signed both the English and Chinese "statement of not being married". My fiancee signed the Chinese version and it satisfied the interviewing VO. I think, if she does not sign the statement (and you could also regard this as being protection also for you) that you could receive less than a PINK sheet.
  12. Hum... does this differ from place to place. They just made the white books for her. Each white book has Chinese and English together. The white book doesn't have pages for her to sign. There was a stamp and stamp signature on the Chinese version. The english was just translation, without stamps. Are we getting the correct white books? I agree that the English version maybe stamp and signature free. Ours was too, but as I mentioned on your thread, this is a statement on the "statement of Marriagebility" and ours, which I would think would be like most, states, I, the undersigned and there is a place for her to sign the English and Chinese version. My fiancee signed the Chinese version that is attached to the English version in the White book.
  13. And unlike her police certificate and birth certificate, which she gets from her local office, the office may have no record of her ever being married, since like has been mentioned in the Toot Thread and or common knowledge, a person can pretty much get married anywhere ( Hong Kong, Singapore, Las Vegas, etc)......so difficult for a local Chinese office to know or verify....thus to my thinking......THE STATEMENT
  14. The police and birth certificates are simple notarial certificates with no statement from the person requesting the certificate. The single certificate from her (statement of marriageability) is different. If you get the chance to read it in both English and Chinese, it typically states that I, the undersigned........ My fiancee signed the Chinese version obviously in her Chinese name, which was attached to the English version with her being the Deponent, but she did not sign in English....... Could a VO be critical of not having both sigs? This I do not know, but definitely have her sign ONE. We DID get the original as well as 4 copies.... And like all cases, it depends on the VO and what they may see as weaknesses or red flags in your specific case. Hope this helps.
  15. Okay, Dan....... I understand. I have been reading CFL for about 2 years now and I somehow remember some of the other OPs story....wanted the gaps filled in after reading 3 pages of bouncing around the serious matter of marriage and possible impending divorce especially due to marrying someone outside of the US... Wish him luck and hope Larry does not have to over think the prenup stuff.....and protecting his daughter's future....would hope his wife is going to be a significant part of that future.... Personally, if I had to even consider a prenup, there were bigger problems....and I would not consider marriage.... But hey, this whole process involves the heart and hopefully some semblance of making smart decisions..... Good luck to us all!
  16. I would like to think that I detest gossip and have long since vowed to never watch even a full episode of a soap opera although my sister had a cameo part, WHAT EVER HAPPEN? Did they ride off happily towards the sunset or rather in case of Florida to the sunrise??? Did he have his Dodge Dart waiting on the West Coast for his trip cross-country? Admittedly an interesting story...
  17. One of the best reasons for this forum is that CFL members can draw from the collective experience of others and hopefully benefit.... And I am not here to try and sway anyone's opinion of GUZ -- how they operate, their decisions or their accessibility -- past or present... But first to the point on access, if you follow their guidelines you will get an opportunity at ACH and ACS. Keep your wits..... My first time for ACS was due to a stolen passport in the last few days of my second trip. I had no appointment. Marc Cook listened, worked diligently and assisted also providing me with as much info possible for GZ PSB and my exit visa. We stayed past 5 PM and left down the right elevator. I left my cell with security and went back up to the 5th and retrieved. Marc Cook was leaving as I was going back up and again assisted. Got the luck of the draw again at ACS for notarial services with the Vice Consul. We discussed many things...... One of the big things that came from this was her concern to protect USCs especially against fraud..... And she admitted that in cases that are not prepared properly and there is considerable doubt, they will give Blue or White. Nothing personal just their job. And made a point of not wanting to divulge too much of the process to help others commit fraud in China and noted that they realize that they are at the top of the list for fraud. She even made a concerted effort to give me info to help them with questionable beneficiary individuals..... I am reluctant, since I am glad I am not in their position with too few staff and thousands of petitions...... Simply, the first woman I met online, the Chinese woman that got me to first thinking of going through this tough process, committed fraud. She lied to me so many times that I had to move on. She is here now in NY and is trying to get her GC. And when she does, divorce. And just recently, sent me a message that she wants to work for our family....after her GC and move to Texas. Another petitioner I talked to had a friend that committed fraud for a wealthy Chinese family to get the woman here. Got paid $7K. Though after getting paid to help her get her GC, he is finding himself getting more committed to his marriage...... So do whatever and think whatever, but no matter who is in charge or working at the Consulate in GUZ, they have a tough job to do....MHO Secret or hidden consulate.....or the US Consulate General Guangzhou, China
  18. I waited until my last day in China to come back and read the expected simple minded and negative crap that continues to float around this site........... Before you make another lame comment like that whome?, compare OUR TIMELINES.............BUT HEY MAYBE YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT RESULTS and for me trying to SHARE HELPFUL THOUGHTS.........I have read all your posts and have never made negative remarks until now although I could. Since your post like Tsap is simply a personal uninvited negative attack..........GET A LIFE Tsap is the only current member that constantly posts his negative story playing the VICTIM card. Stop being a victim and be a positive influence. Instead like the more he tells HIS STORY the more believeable it is. That he was singled out or something. That he was UNLUCKY. Maybe he was. NONE of us was there including the interview, which by the way he was not there........outside yes, but NOT at the window. Any thought of him being screwed is erased by his consistent attack on other CFL members........PERIOD!!! Who is he trying to convince from his repetitive story to Roger and I. Basic, pysch suggests HIMSELF. Again, look at the timelines. He is in an extremely small minority of CFL members that went from Blue to White.........Bad LUCK? All his repetitive story did was make me prepare harder. And at times I have shared that experience. If you don't want to read it then don't. But Tsap's story would give the impression to members that the whole process is LUCK. I say BULL CRAP........ AND ON HIS SHOES Bill and I had a lengthy discussion on this at the coffee shop. We both agreed that luck had little do with it. A good case and preparation did. Again, we live in America. MAKE YOUR OWN CONCLUSION AND CHOICE! But at least until now, my experience was not used to actively attack other CFL members...... His hollow congratulations read like this with NO STRETCH......... YOU WERE SIMPLY LUCKY GETTING PINK AT GUZ. I WAS NOT!!!! And low and behold if you really THINK any of the work you did and pass onto this site had anything to do with your success........... If you wish to continue to make crap comments like yours then start your own thread for CFL members that don't give a crap can read... I will be at the AOS side, so until you get there I will miss more meaningless posts from you....... MOVING ON AND NOT LOOKING BACK..........
  19. GREAT FUN...........especially in hindsight You ever get lost in and around South Texas, look us up.... Soon to be newly weds and we will keep the light on for you. And send us some wedding photos when you get the chance. Thanks. Now it is time to keep the HONEYMOON GOING HAPPY TRAILS
  20. Wish we had the chance to meet at GUZ, but great to hear of your success and good news. When you read the horror stories on this site anyone here at CFL would feel compelled to over prepare. Prepare, prepare, prepare. Check, check and re-check everything, since one expects GUZ to. Glad to hear that you did and everything worked out. CONGRATULATIONS AND GOD BLESS!!! Henry
  21. AWESOME....... Glad to hear of more recent success at GUZ Hope the VOs continue to keep the light on........CHEERS
  22. Glad to hear Andrew that you and Lucy made it back just fine When I get back to the States, i will send you the photos we took. We enjoyed a very fun, unwinding and relaxing dinner. Mei was still numb also from the experience that evening, but we will always remember the moment and celebrate the result.... Cheers CONGRATULATIONS AND GREAT JOB!!!
  23. What a great ride, Bill. Lot of CFL success to see, experience and read about. Good luck with your AOS. Sorry that my parents weren't up to tackle the heat of Beijing and all the walking planned at the Great Wall and have stayed in Qingdao. We are visiting friends in Kaifeng..... Hope to see you and Li Hong again someday. Maybe some kind of reunion.... What a great group. Take care and God bless!!! Henry
  24. I only have a few minutes here for the computer, but have a few words for you tsap...... Your words do not match your actions..... Of course, anyone could pass or fail. But why do I not hear others backing up your lame words. I have read your story so many times, it makes me want to puke.... Your side and no one elses....your wishes are as sincere as your attempt at convincing of your petition.. Would gladly match wits with you anytime, since that seems like a common thread for you. Also match military service. College degrees, whatever....... I have found that it benefits to be smart in life. It helps greatly with the luck!!! That is why I am so often called lucky... Figure it out..........before you write another lame post to this thread... I am tired of hearing about the past. You like to live there. I can only read of the past, but help others with the present.... Get your things together and get in the present..... But I honestly hope you pass even if I do not believe your sentiments towards everyone's current visa success....... Later.......
