Got the BIO appointment letter on Saturday. Biometrics will be 9-24-2010. I tried again today to check the status with the receipt number and it still shows that "Case number can not be found". I called USCIA and typed in the number on there automatted system........same thing....Case Number not found???????? Any suggestions or should i worry about it? Robert

How long after reciept notice is it usually until you get the Biometric appointment?

I have a few questions about AOS. 1. We have had our reciepts now for AOS EAD and AP for over a week. When I try to look them up online or call USCIS they say that the reciept number can not be found??? Is this normal?? 2. For those who have filed AOS recently, how long for Green card, EAD or AP. I know what the website says about time but just looking for real world times. It took us 27 months to get my ex's green card back in 2003 3. The big question.....I am sending my wife to China for 2 months in Jan for Chinese new year. She should have AP by then and hopefully green card. I am worried though that they will require and interview and that it will be while she is in CHina ....any thoughts on what to do. I want to have a plan of action in place. It is very important for her to be in China as her daughter will be out of school and she can spend good time with her. Thanks. Robert

My ex from Russia did not have an interview for 2 year green card but I bet because of her my wife will have one Robert

I took my wife to the local health dept here in GA. they charged $143.00 for first round of shots . I then called several civil surgeons here in the Atlanta area and they all told me the same thing,"She must have all her shots finished...all 3 rounds... before they would fill out the paper and then they would still charge $100 to transfer the records...what a rip off . I called USCIS and told them as her last round of shots will not be until September, they told me to file the papers anyway and they will send me a request for more info. I should have them by then but the civil surgeons are a bunch of ripp off scammers...at least from where I sit. try to find a good one if you can. Robert

I have been very busy latley so have not had much time to post. Na started ESL classes again this week....her second class. She has learned so much since she arrived. There have been some homesick moments but for the most part it has all been good. I guess I will have to start teaching her to drive soon . She has found many Chinese friends here in Duluth.....Charlese wife (Newday2006) and many others with American husbands. We waited as long as we could to file AOS hoping that her daughter would arrive this summer but that did not happen so we filed thi week. Glad to see alot of the same people here and new as well. I will try to be more active as things are settling down abit. Robert

Dan she just went to the health clinic here and they gave her: MMR Tetanus Chicken Pox and Hep B. They say she has to come back in 2 months for more. Can we have what she got today transfered to the I-693 by a CS and send in papers or do we wait for 2 more months? Also the cost I think was really high......$143.00?????? Robert

Question about shpts, Na has no records for any shots. I am guessing that she will need to start from scratch. I know some of the shots requir more than one given at different times. Will she be able to start the process and then file the papers or will we need to wait until all completed? By papers I mean AOS. Robert

This is really making me crazy........ or maybe I am just not real smart . Here are the instructions for the I-693. about vaccination records under section 3 page 4: number 2 A, a: "Even if a new medical examination is not required, you still must show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original, overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case you are required to submit PART 1, Information About You, PART 2, the vaccination chart and PART 5......." I would assume that it would have been included in her papers in the sealed envelope that she brought with her to POE????....but you know what happens when we assume How do I know if they have it or should I just take her to get the vaccinations again???????? Not sure if that is dangerous or not??? Robert

Dan, it says that I need to send in her shot records with the I-485. She does not have them, apparantly they keep everything but her x-rays. What should I do about that? Robert

one other question. when we got married she took my last name but apparently in GA it still needs to be done in court so we will use her name as it is on her passport to file papers. What is the cost to have her name changed legally on green card after issue?

I have a question, I know that when you file for AOS you can also file for EAD at no charge....can you also file for advanced parol at no charge or is that extra? Robert

I dislike saying anything "negative" without taking the time to explain why --- but my 4 month old is making noise and I have to go take care of him. In short, you need a NEW LETTER! (Your newer one is certainly better than your first one - never apologize, or beg, it shows weakness and they will smell the fear) I would first ask that you stop...all this "music to your ears" stuff and put yourself (if possible) into the head of a GUZ immigration person! They will have about 60 seconds to read your letter and form an opinion. WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW - and yes "evolution" of feelings needs to be in there...but the "facts" first. The facts, like all documents or position papers need to be from your "winning perspective", not begging, fear, apologetic, or musical. My fear is that as I read the letter....it made me think that "finances" will be one of your biggest issues --- only my impression from reading your letter......so by definition the letter is a problem! Who says the letter can only be 1 page! Mine was two pages since I lived in China for almost two years....I had a long evolution! Sorry to be so "strong" to the negative but I think you have widely missed the mark here and as written, will not aid in your case, and might hamper it! I should have more time towards the end of the day...I'm in HST, so if you are interested I would be glad to share an additional 2 mao worth. Again, sorry to be in such a hurry. I agree, you need to re-write and not be apologetic. Just give them the facts and make sure you do not give them any reasons to to look harder. Why is this sooooo complicated . My wife changed her name when we got married and took my last name. When we went to get her SSC they would not put her new name on it because it did not register correctly with USCIS even though we had the certified copy of the marriage license. I think.......someone please tell me if I am right...........that when we file the AOS papers we put her new name on them and include a copy of the marriage license. I believe at this point when we recieve the reciept notice from USCIS that they will have changed it in the computer and we can get the SSC re-issued?????Does that sound correct?? They would not even put her new name on our bank account when I added her. So I guess after the SSC is correct then I can get her a state ID or Drivers license with her correct name on it. Any advise would be great Robert
