  2. Yes - the restrictions were pretty well removed by that time. The article is simply about the last remaining structures. Some, like Charles, remember those not-so-distant days. Right. My experience was in 2005 if I remember correctly and due to my CRS, that is debatable.😁
  3. Hello from one of the three amigos 😊
  4. Been told to get off the bus one evening at the Shenzhen check point.
  5. President Donald Trump's secretaries of state and defense are trying to persuade him not to strike North Korea, while his national security adviser is pushing for a "bloody nose" attack, according to recent reports in The Telegraph and The Wall Street Journal.Rex Tillerson, the secretary of state, has reportedly been key in pushing for peace, but he may be on his way out.A US strike would mean it implicitly trusts that North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, wouldn't escalate it into an all-out war that could kill millions. Fake news
  6. I like how you spell "olde" Looks better with a "ye" in front of it😁😁
  7. 68 Born in Dec 1949 makes it easy to remember my age... 50 at year 2000. Thanks again, all you old codgers. hmmm.... mebbe I am a geezer... well, except for that Barry White part... Urban dictionary claims that "Codger" is drevitave of coffin dodger. "Coot" they claim is a foolish old man. geezer is a descriptive word in the UK which is used to define a mans characteristics. A geezer will be found usually out side a pub with a pint in his hand on match day. They commonly like football, scrapping, beer, tea, tits, and Barry white. Celebrated by getting my Ratrod back from the mechanic who had it the last 4 months. Runs like a well-oiled sewing maching now... http://i68.tinypic.com/4hbc5t.jpg woohoo! Sounds like you got this old stuff down Like that car man!
  8. Happy birthday Dennis! What's the number?
  9. All that we hear comes from the news be it true or false. So really no telling if it was a success and how successful it was. Time will tell.
  10. Nice to have you back Carl!! Hope everything is going well for you and your family.
  11. This is comparing to Manila...the most expensive place to live in the Philippines.
  12. Is this the series that has cuzin Tsap in it?
  13. Thanks Larry. I was blown away at how cheap it is to live in the Philippines. Even cheaper than Thailand.
  14. Just wondering if anyone here has been there. What was it like?
  15. You know that idiot is not going to stop no matter of any sanctions that are put on him. China is keeping them afloat and if China halts their support then the fool will do something feally stupid. I do feel that we are prepared better then we have ever been seeing as our military leaders are now in charge. Unfortunately I think that it will be a huge loss of life for the North Korean people who are so innocently misguided by an evil family of dictators that should have irradicated many years ago. Really a sad state of affairs.
  16. Carl was a self described atheist. But I'm going to take a guess here.....being as he was such a gifted, kind, helpful, loving person with a huge heart, God gave him one more chance to accept Him and Carl took Him up on it😊. I really miss Carl.
  17. Thanks Dan for the reply. Please tell Don we miss him.
  18. Here is a PM from Carl talking about guitars. You can feel his love for them.. I have two more I'm working on now. One is a Martin OM style and the other is my most ambitious project to date. It's a commemorative guitar I call the "Daddy Frank". My father's name was Frank and he always liked Merle Haggard's song "Daddy Frank" My dad loved Gibson curly maple guitars. I still have his old Gibson ES 175 Arch top. This is the guitar I would build for him if he were still alive. It's based on a 1959 Gibson J-185. It's curly maple back and sides with an Engleman Spruce top. 24.56 scale same as a Les Paul. I am going to use black white black binding and purfling, bind the neck and use the traditional parallelogram pearl fret markers. I'll be sure to take some pictures of the show. I'm taking my first guitar and the parts for the Martin OM to display. It's a guitar heaven. You would love it. Many of the luthiers encourage accomplished guitar players like your self to take their guitars into a music room to play it. "
  19. I wonder if Don our ex-leader knows about this? Donasho....Carl used to keep me up on him. They were close so I imagine he does.
  20. He was working on his third guitar. He was a master.
