  1. Yes I would. I would change my beneficiary and add her 1/4 and she would have the home I have. Larry, I do not know you but i am Chinese woman here in U.S.. I am sure you love your girl/wife very much. I am not sure where she is from but Chinese woman just wants family and love!! I have been here for two years now and my husband has taken good care of me and my family in China. U.S. man can be good and can be bad. It is hard to tell in the beginning but time will tell. What does your hard say?? You take care of her, She will take care of you for ever.
  2. I guess I'm a little behind in sharing any info about my trip to china. I've already been in 5 cities in two weeks. Gained 10 pounds in the first 5 days from too much 'gan bei'. I tested for the first time some 140 proof bai jiu from Liaoning Province... I don't recommend more than a 1/5 of a glass unless you want to be reminded of your entire previous night. I have played my favorite sports so far: basketball, soccer, pool, and ping pong. Last year I was invited to go a school to teach soccer and they were involved in a soccer tournament this year. I got word from my friend's dad (the coach) that I was invited to come see it. Since it worked with my plans I said I would come by... Turns out, they put my name in the tournament program handout as the "special guest from the US"; I have loved ping pong since the day I first tried it at summer camp and like most sports, I took to it easily. I never play ping pong anymore unless I am in china but I always ask for some good players to play with. They usually think I will be a push over but it takes about 15 minutes of practicing to get back into the 'slam' of it. One player really was pushing me around the table and I finally took a break and sat down for about 10 minutes. After clearing my head, he couldn't beat me again because I changed my style to return slamming his serves. My friend who setup the 'match' then said he would get another guy the next day, who turned out to be a 'south paw' like me. He had great spin on his forehand smash which even my forehand could not reach at times. For this guy, I backed off the table and played a low spinning return which he could not figure out. I had dinner with GZBill while in BJ. Alot of interesting discussion about china and US which we agreed more than we disagreed. Maybe too controversial for here . I have been a few days at Jesse's (ShaQuaNew) in Nanjing catching up on many things (we visited a few times when he was still in US). I'll probably be here a few more days and head back north. One CFLer send me a PM to come to Qingdao but not sure I can make that yet. The call of Liaoning Jiu is strong Too many observations about china to relate... I'll save them for another post. Hi!! David. Remember me? Hong? I understand you are in China now? I hope you are having fun and please be careful, OK? I remember you tell me why you goto China now. I will not say now. This is just between you and I. Just have fun and enjoy. I will talk to you when you go home. Hong
  3. Jin, yes i agree very much. I have been in U.S. for almost two years now and i have learned most of my English from Michael and his friends/family. I too have job and work with many Spanish people and i too am learning Spanish. I think this is very good because i now understand three languages. Chinese,English,Spanish. I also look at a lot of U.S. TV and listen to radio in U.S. that helps me learn more. I now only speak Chinese on weekends when i talk to my family and friends in China. Just last week. Michael and I goto friends party and Michael talk to me in Chinese so friends no understand what we say. I was not to happy with him. I tell him i am in U.S. now. We speak English only in public.
  4. I agree. Why would you marry woman and not take care of her?? What do you want to do??
  5. Yes this is very true. I have two friends that are now divorced from U.S man. The man just wanted love slave and house keeper.

Things are ok now but i still have work to do in china to make sure my family is well. After things get ok again i will post more very soon. Thanks you David you are good man just like michael say. Take care. Hong
  7. Oh please... strict incarceration is a western penal approach to crime. The US is #1 in terms of numbers despite our population does not support it logically nor rationally. They don't patrol the streets for a very simple reason... THEY DON'T NEED TO. We are so brainwashed by social control in the US that we cannot fathom social order in a country 4x our size. if we think the US is burdened with crime and laws now... wait till we are at 1 billion... I cannot imagine the slave state we will become. How many times have you found yourself walking the streets of China, whether crossing at a crosswalk in a rural area and was narrowly missed by a speeding car? Or walking on the sidewalk and was struck from behind by a fast-moving motorcycle? Or crossing a divided street, and noticed a fast moving car or motorcycle going the wrong way, and just missed being hit? They may not have the violent crime, but the streets are not safe for pedestrians. Way too many car owners and drivers in China have a a "get the hell out of my way" attitude if you in any way are impeding their movement as a pedestrian. It's near total anarchy on the streets, and you take your life into your hands any time your a pedestrian. Do Chinese locals notice it? No, very unlikely. They get away with all manner of law-breaking on the roads, only because they can. In China, I have been many times on the back of a moped racing through traffic and cutting off even buses in on coming traffic. Nothing more terrifying at first. I got used to it though.. soon pointing out the best next 'cutoff'; yes, I'm a backseat driver. Got to get from A to B and there's too many damn people, cars, and bikes in the street. maybe we are too comfortable with our low population density in the US; the US is simply insulated and pampered with a bevy of laws which controls our movement like we're machines. Soon, life is seen as a combination of just red, yellow, and green decisions. Anyone every consider the influence of a society burdened with laws upon laws and what that does to the population's natural 'freedom'; one doesn't necessarily produce law abiding citizens but law controlled citizens. Maybe we're just too 'local' to notice it. Pedestrians in the road; Again, I think we in the US are generally oblivious to population problems , so we can easily complain about anything which seems unreasonable to our way of conditioned living. We hurl too many international stones IMO. The big question is: Why does china allow it? Why the lack of laws? This is a historical and cultural issue facing them in a modern way, but which so far they have not given up too much. I'll give just one thought: IN the US, we are 'told' this is all for public safety and our therefore our safety. Wait till we're at 1 or 2 billion people... we'll have more laws than sand on the beach, but it had better be logical transportation to prevent our every step being controlled. But in China, their history is one of the person being responsible; So they are extended that in many ways which we seem to not see so easily. I've always thought that chinese thinking shares some commonality to existentialism. It is one of the most enduring humanistic society. I'm sure I've digressed too much... but I see this common theme on CFL of not understanding something very fundamental about the chinese way, maybe because it is not our accustomed way and therefore must be wrong or inferior. David, thought i have never talk to you before but you are good friend with my husband. Yes i agree, In China and U.S. very no same. transportation in China is no where the same in U.S. In china transportation is like everyone is on the same page and thinks alike. You walk into the road and people know where you are going in China. I'm not sure the english word for what i'm saying but everyone knows where you are going in China in the streets and very few people get hurt. I can remember when michael first came to Chongqing and ride in taxi. He was very scared and worried about china and driving in my country. Many people walking in street and road, He think people maybe die. Now today and now year he more relaxed and understand chinese driving. We now have house and new car in China and when we are in Chongqing he drive are car with no problems. But my point is that no matter if in China or the U.S. drunk driving is very close to the same. This is coming from a Chinese woman than knows what happens while driving drunk. My X husband very like to drink wine and drive. I remember he once drive drunk and crash car. He kill good friend of mine in crash. I have learned a lot here in U.S.in short time. You drive drunk in U.S. or China and get caught the laws are very close to the same. But the only deference is that in Chongqing if you drive drunk and kill people, You too will die!!!
  8. I did not know it made a differences what you wear on interview day. maybe just a crazy question?
  9. Yes, i agree! But we have Chinese Tv in our house here in U.S. so i see both sides. Sometimes it is hard to believe witch one to understand?
  10. You obviously haven't been watching <or reading> the news in China recently. I don't read China news now. I rely on Ying to tell me what's up from what she reads. And oddly enough it's quite similar to whatever the flavor of the day is of Chinasmack.com. Are they reporting that on CCTV # whatever now? The bus fire was pretty major, but the other stuff? Is that coming across? I look at CCTV4 and CCtv9 everyday at 8 hour night time. It is world news. I learn more from them than i do from U.S. news. They may have same story but not same outcome???
  11. Hang in there, Zhenghong! Life is a roller coaster ride! Larry, Thank you, for you are a good man. Yes i understand I'm still learning and know that U.S. government is busy. But i still feel that i am being lied to by government. He say that he will save jobs but all i see is many friends jobs all gone
  12. I look at U.S. news everyday. Then i look at China news. The story no same. I am Chinese woman so i believe china new more. I feel U.S. news lie and not tell truth. I been in U.S. almost 3 years now. I remember old president and i was here to see new president go to work. Why new president lie? He say ago he help people and now he take job away. I see no help just people with no job and sad. I think when i come to U.S. it be good. Now i want to go home. Why U.S. lis to me?
  13. U.S. people drive very slow!! In Chongqing you stand road you get hit!
  14. BOC America is no different than any other US bank. They have no direct ties to BOC China, meaning that you cannot link your accounts together and they have no special relationship with each other. They do have a department that deals with BOCA-BOCC business, it is fee based as if you were dealing with any bank and their is no discounts for "staying within the family". Federal and State laws govern BOCA which prohibit international account transfers. I spoke to a BOCA account rep last year because I thought it might be an easier way to move funds back and forth at less cost and hassle. What I just stated is in regard to personal accounts. Business and corporate accounts have different rules. This website outlines what is possible for business accounts only. business account looks better- jin enterprises.yunnan.cn Jin i agree my husband has company. Nuworld designs
  15. Yes, I feel same. In China i walk everyday to work to store and to friends house. Here in U.S. we drive car everywhere. no walking U.S. Is ok, I have many new friends and have good job. But i still like city life in Chongqing more. I understand my husband also like Chongqing more.
  16. Sorry i have not make letter for some time now. I been busy with my family. Again I'm sorry for all question i ask. But i need to understand why U.s family not very close to each other? Michael bother live very close to our house and brother never come to our house. he and hie wife only come to our house hen they want something. Michael and his father are very close and talk on phone every day. Me and michael and his bother and his wife work together everyday. But do not spend no time together on off time. My question is Why do U.s familys do not spend time together. In my country of chongqing we spend many days and hours together with family. We eat food together and spend good time as family. Why U.s not same???
