  1. We stayed at the Westin for her interview. It's only 1 block away from the GUZ, and 3-4 blocks away from the subway station. The hotel itself is fairly new (IIRC lest than 2 years old), so most of equipments are in good condition, however, I did have problem w/the A/C, no matter how I tried, I just couldn't turn it down to 72F, the lowest it'd go is 79F. I used hotel points for the stay, so basically the room costed me nothing.
  2. If all official documents are showing the same birthday (year), then I see no problem tell the VO the age showing on her ID is the correct one. IMHO, keep it simple usually is the best option.
  3. He can attach an all purpose acknowledgment to the new I-134 then notarize it.
  4. What is the bday on her birth certificate or "hu kou"?
  5. Just called airline, the reservation has to be in English (i.e. PinYin).
  6. One more question, should I booked the ticket under her Chinese name (in Chinese character) or PinYin?
  7. I believe what she is trying to say is that she does not believe she can apply for K3 visa thru US consulate at HK, unless you can send her proof to show the contrary.
  8. Maybe I'm just paranoid, I'm planning to redeem some of my frequent flyer miles to get a ticket for my fianc¨¦e. However, I can only redeem miles for a round-trip ticket. Would a round-trip ticket cause any problem at the POE? Thanks.
  9. Just got our package on the 21st. I did go to the ACS on the 20th. I believe the person I talked to was Marc Cook (based on the picture on the consulate website). He did check the data base, and our package has not been processed yet. He told me that if the package was not picked up within 7 days, it will be sent back to the consulate. At that time, the beneficiary can email or fax the consulate, explain the situation and arrange for a special pickup at the consulate.
  10. I know that if the visa package is not picked up within 7 days at the post office, it will be returned to the consulate. My question is what happens next? Is there anyway to arrange a new pick up at the consulate?
  11. No EMS tracking info yet, most likely the package is still at the consulate.
  12. Which office is the ACS window located? The one at Tian Yu, or the Sha Mian office? Thanks.
  13. We got the pink slip on Jan. 14th. When we went to the post office on the 16th, was told that since the consulate is closed for MLK day from 16th to 19th, we have to wait until Wednesday (21st) to get our visa. My questions are: 1. Since it normally takes 3 business days to have the visa processed, should it be Tuesday (Jan. 14, 15, and 20) instead of Wednesday? 2. In case the visa is not at the post office on Tuesday, would it be possible to go to the consulate directly to get the visa? If it's possible, which office should I go, the one in Tian Yu or the main Sha Mian office? TIA.
