  1. I'm not certain about the 'with permission' part. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to talk with her, but I have the feeling she just moved in with her brother and started teaching at a new school. This job in Shenzhen is not a Government job. But if shes getting paid I dont see what the problem is. We will be going to Xianning to get her documents. I'm hoping she can just put her latest job in Shenzhen on the G-325A along with her first job in Xianning and all will be good. Appaullo
  2. Ok, just got off skype with her. Shes off to work now. Her fear is that she gave up her Xianning Teaching job and moved in with her brother and his family in Shenzhen. She teaches there now, but her Hokou (spelling?) is still Xianning. She says she has 'not moved' only 'given up' her Xianning job as far as Chinese Government is concerned. I told her I did not think this would be an issue with the Visa process, but she is still concerned. Before I read your reply, Randy, I used the same phrase to her 'I'm sure your not the first School Teacher to have left her home city that has gone through this process'. She worries that the US Government will look at her records and find nothing 'official' on her in Shenzhen. I feel since she is drawing pay from the school that she will show up. Appaullo
  3. Hey all, My SO is concerned about her job. She is a school teacher from Xianning. Her job is considered 'Governmental' so she has a Dossier from the Bureau of Education. She moved to Shenzhen 10 years ago and took a 'temporary' job as a School Teacher there. She worries that because her official Dossier says she is a teacher from Xianning but she is only temporary in Shenzhen that it will raise a red flag. Has anyone else been in this situation before? She says that in China you have a record from your home city that does not carry over if you move. She is considering going to Xianning to get a job teaching for a while to make it look better when we apply for her Visa. I am uncertain this is necessary. Any thoughts? Appaullo
  4. Thanks, Shushuweiwei, I have decided to leave the supplements at home and take the time off from the gym. It will be difficult to stay away if my hotel has a nice weight room. But I will be taking my prescriptions, and have my OTC sinus meds already bought and they remain unopened until I get there. As well as Tums and Maalox (I've been advised this is a good idea). I am so excited and ready to go. Appaullo
  5. LOL Point taken. By the way ... I *hope* thats not YOUR suitcase? Appaullo
  6. OK, I suppose I could probably use the break from lifting. So I'll leave the supplements and vitimins at home. What about jewelry? I will have rings, and a bracelet I bought for her. So sorry to be continually asking questions. Appaullo
  7. Do we have a choice as to which Service Center our paperwork goes to? The form just lists an address for a lockbox. Appaullo
  8. Hey all, time for another question. I'm an avid fitness enthusiast. While in China I plan on doing as much working out as I can squeeze in. I know, I know ... but I will still want to hit the weights if the chance presents itself. I take a regular dose of vitamins daily. As well as some over the counter supplements like L-Arginie and Glucosimine. I am wondering if I declare these? Or should I not even bother taking them with me? I do not want issues at customs. I was planning on using a 7 day pill counter. Also what about prescriptions? Do I declare them? My SO has requested some vitamins and visine, and I have sinus issues. My thinking is if the sinus medications are unopened it should be NP? Appaullo
  9. My SO has made it clear to me that she wishes to take my name once we marry. She wishes to change from <Family Name> <Given Name> to <Given Name> <Family Name> <My Last Name>. I am happy that she feels so strongly about taking my last name, but my concern is her Birth Certificate having one name and our Marriage certificate having another. I do not wish anything to trip us up in the Visa process. Any advice on this subject would be helpful. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. Also a warning: as my trip to China draws nearer you may see more questions from me. I wish for everything to be perfect so I may ask questions already answered elsewhere, I apologize for this in advance. Appaullo
  10. OK, sorry to follow up a post with another post but I am a bit confused. I am marying my SO this December in Wuhan. I have printed up and am planning on submitting in this order the following forms. I-130 along with two G-325As (one for each of us), then after recieving I-797 I will mail in the I-129F along with two more G-325As (one for each of us). This is what I *think* is correct after my time on these forums. Am I correct in my assumption? Thanks again, Appaullo
  11. "To ease applicant burden and to avoid any confusion, the Service recommends that petitioners whose alien spouses wish to first obtain a K-3/K-4 visa abroad and later adjust while in the United States so state in Question 21 of Form I-130. " I am looking at my I-130 now, and question 21 asks for the last address my (soon to be) Wife and I lived together. Is this the correct question to state we will be filing for K-3 Visaand later AOS? Or do I have an out of date I-130? My apologies if my quote from earlier post is wrong. I was not sure how to cut and paste it in. Thanks, Appaullo
  12. Ok, all, My SO is telling me that in her Family Registration Book she has two names. One name she used through school all the way to college. The other she is using now that shes out of school and teaching kindergarten. She is wondering if this will be something we should concern ourselves with, and I am wondering if this is something anyone else here has dealt with? I know there is a line on the I-130 and the G-325A for 'other names', is this for the name she used through school perhaps? Also she is wondering if she should take steps to take my last name. I feel this is something that may complicate the paperwork for K-3. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Appaullo
  13. Thanks for the further info, Bob! Hope your stay in China is a terrific one! Appaullo
  14. Thanks all for the responses. Once I had heard I may need multi entry visa I was wondering. This clears the matter up for me Appaullo
  15. Hi all, time for another dumb question from me When I make my first trip to China this December I will be going to see my SO in Shenzhen. I would also like to see Hong Kong while I am there. I have heard I will need a multi entry Visa for this, and I have heard I will NOT need a multi entry Visa for this. I will be staying in Shenzhen, but also wish to make a trip or two to Hong Kong. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance! Appaullo
  16. Many thanks all! Again sorry for newb questions. Appaullo
  17. Hi again all, I am printing out the I-129F form and it is coming out a sort of grey color text, almost a light blue. I notice on the instructions it says to fill the form using black ink. I am wondering if I should use a different printer for this to get the forms a darker color like black? I would hate to send this in and have them return it to me because of a greyish/light blue looking form. Or will this make no difference? Thanks again, Appaullo
  18. Hi again all. Apologies in advance for another question that may have been answered, I tried using the search engine with no luck. Has anyone heard of a 'Single Proof Document'? My SO in China tells me I should have one if we wish to wed. I have never heard of such a thing. Time for bed for me now, but I will check back in tomorrow. Thanks in advance, Appaullo Quick edit here ... this is a document that is supposed to give proof to Chinese Government that I am single.
  19. This is not a Fiance Visa I am talking about. I am inquiring about my own visa for visiting China. Last night after a 5 hour skype session I looked on this site http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/c...ry_requirements but looking now I do not see anything that makes me think I need an 'exit' visa. It may have just been a case of fatigue playing with my eyes. Sorry for the time waste. My reasons for asking is because, as stated above, this is my first visit off of the Continent and I just want to make sure everything is in order. Again, sorry for the confusion, but thank you for the quick replies Appaullo
  20. Hi all! New posting here, I've been lurking for some weeks now. I am preparing for my first trip to China and when I was registering my trip on the State Dept site I read about an 'exit' visa. Is this something I will have to ask my travel agent for? We have discussed a 'visa', I will bring her my application filled out, she will take the photos and then I will send it to Chicago. My question is ... Do I need to apply for an exit Visa also? Or will that be done on my passport with my entry Visa when I send it in. My apologies if this is a dumb question. It is my first trip off Continent and I want everything to go well. The fact that I'm posting this here in CFL probably tells you the nature of my visit Thanks, Appaullo
