Thanks so much for your clarification. Really helps

DOS says our interview is Nov 8th. However, my husband and stepdaughter have not received their P4 yest. Is this to be expected. When he calls the information line- they say they don't have him scheduled. Wow, we're at the end of this process and boy are we confused. I have e-mailed to find out! Any information

You are not listed on the timeline list. Please provide your timeline so we can get a perspective of the progress. Thanks

Mark I am doing the same. Although I call everyday. Also when I call, DOS states it was sent 27 May so usually 5-6 months from this time. We are expecting something soon also (if their projections are correct). October 27 is 5 months- we feel we should hear somthing at the very least by this time. (see our timeline- although GUZ received in July- DOS states its from the time sent, the clearance is done and now just waiting....

Difficult to say - as you have no info on your timeline posted. Seems that namecheck is started. I never got any confirmation that namecheck was completed, except words " now waitiing for interview to be scheduled" Compare your situation with the info posted here: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12613 156055 Thanks I started the process 9/13/04 with I 130 and 11/23/04 with 129. I know New Hampshire shipped on 05/04/05 and I was finally entered into Name Check early July. I don't know if the I 130 has taken over or this is the 129. Should have kept a better timeline. 156063 Yes, I agree, look at my timeline- we haven't gotten an interview yet. I call DOS everyday- they are patient and helpful. It's a lifeline until you hear anything.

Ours was sent 27 May 2005 and we haven't gotten an interview yet (P4). I call DOS everyday. They say it is 6 months from sent to interview (on average). We were married June 04 and applied immediately. I guess it just takes time... 155936 I was also entered into Guz on May 18th. Submitted September 23rd 04. It will be intersting to see how each one of us plays out. We are still in name Check. 155946 Our name check was completed Aug 22 (approx). Keep saying we are awaiting interview

Waiting too long for P4??
HTW & QZ replied to RJZ+JCW's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Ours was forwarded May 27. They say it is 6 months for the process from P3 sent to P4 received and interview. We applied starting July 2004. This process requires patience. Looks like you applied this January. Hang in there! -
Thanks Randy. Sure will!

Actually we applied July 2004 so its getting close in terms of the timeline. We feel its a fair projection for this type of visa- the timeline that is.

Today I phoned DOS and they were more concrete. Our package was sent from 27 May to NVC to GUZ (CR1). The woman said it is 6 months from when it is sent to interview. She said November we should get P4 but could be earlier. I have found DOS quite good, and this was the clearest message thus far- in terms of a fairly specific and candid response. Just an update

This posting is important for those with children involved. My spouse and I made an error interpreting the website and thought the CR1 umbrelled his daughter. Unfortunately, we had waited to receive the second Notice of approval and 4 months passed by. We have waited to allow the cases to catch up and have asked they process together (he has custody). So if you are applying for a CR1 and your spouse has a child under 21 you must file a separate I-130 if you want them to process together. My stepdaughter is 10 so we want her to process with him at the interview. This is a lesson learned, but hope I can pass this on to others. Hope this helps.

Hi Mark, I called the DOS today- they said the electronic copy of the NVC package was entered 6-1-2005. Would that make a difference? I am not sure what to go by- as the package was sent 5-27 and seemed to enter GUZ' record in July (as previously noted). I tried to pin down a interview date- says a few months. I asked that few means 3 in my book....they wouldn't confirm.... Any clarification from you or others? Thanks HW

Thanks Mark, I will call DOS again....I have called them but haven't gotten lucky in terms of any data they are willing to give- they defer to GUZ. I appreciate your reply
-
Thanks Mark, It is a CR1 process. That's correct. The package was sent May 27 but they didn't post it until July. Does the priority date matter? As we applied last July but waited for my stepdaughter's package to catch up (didn't realize she needed a separate I-130). You'll see my husband's priority date is early last year (2004) I appreciate the projection timeline. I tried to get firm dates but they don't seem to reply that way. I even used the following format: Tell me Date received _______; Date Entered into computer_____; Etc... but they never respond concretely. Oh well. Just have to hang in there.

What are the projections for packages received in July (P3 confirmed received to GUZ). It was hard to project- we got one e-mail July 17 that said it wasn't received yet from a May 27 mailing by NVC; then another July 22 which said package was going through namecheck. So somewhere between July 17-22 our package was received by GUZ. Any guidance on what our projections would be? What is it based on? Date received or priority date for CR1? Thanks for any clarification.... (clear as mud right!)
