  1. You will need a GUZ number to notify the Consulate - the GUZ number would be on the notice from NVZ that your petition has been forwarded to the Guangzhou consulate. It may be forwarded to Guangzhou if you don't get it canceled in time.
  2. Yes - one or the other. If they allow her to turn it in, that's good. If not, it will be a blue slip and overcome. It's the VO's choice as to which.
  3. I found a post from jim_julian about it Jim's post I would include the form number in the "In re:" box
  4. Ty - you need one so that you can speak with a USCIS representative about your wife's case. I'll find a link on this tonight if someone else doesn't.
  5. If she doesn't have a green card, she will need EAD. Without one or the other, she cannot legally work. If she has one or the other, it's a good idea to go right to the Social Security Office and get a new social security card with the "Now valid for Work" statement removed. Technically, one can legally work before having that statment removed from the card, but many employers will object if it's there and require that you get a clean SSN card. The SSA won't remove it until she has a green card. It's basically meaningless, since she DOES need DHS authorization, but some companies don't like to see it none-the-less.
  6. It shouldn't be any problem if she can produce the EAD card within 90 days (she can). But the company isn't required to allow her to work. If you still want to try, show them the NOA1 from the EAD application.
  7. The kitchen sink is yours to give to your SO to hang on to. The philosophy is that she will have everything at hand, should it be called for. If it's there at the interview, it can be given to the VO if he asks for it(this probably will NOT happen). If he asks for it in a blue slip, it can be mailed in right away. Just be ready.
  8. Yes - the issue is the same. A scammer could divorce her husband and marry an American with the goal of re-uniting with her husband once in the US. what happens is that they ask for the information with a blue-slip. You are expected to send the information later by mail, or at another appointment. They sometimes will not look at material at hand, preferring the blue-slip method. If you send the material before it is asked for, it will possibly raise suspicions.
  9. At least she appeared coherent on the Today show. Intelligence still seemed somewhat elusive, however.
  10. I can't see anything wrong on the part of the cop - ¡°Sign the ticket now or I will take you to see the judge¡± at least gives her a choice which she understood, although in her mind it was a little harsh. Make sure she doesn't expect a warning next time.
  11. Jiaying's favorite is www.people.com.cn . World Journal (US) ChinaSite.com - about 100 others
  12. Any bank with a foreign exchange dept. These can be quite rare. We found plenty in Nanning, none in Yulin, and only one or two in Guangzhou.
  13. I figure it's best to let them punch their own holes, and put it in their files the way they want to. I've always submitted a pile of paper, organized by manila folders or tabs.
  14. I believe the law is that the background check MUST complete. My understanding is that the USCIS is stretching it by scheduling interviews before it completes, but that they're blaming it on the slowness of the FBI.
  15. That may not work anymore, if they are being held up by a name check - USCIS memo. They figured out that somepeople were suing their way to citizenship without having to wait for the background check to complete.
  16. Ty is suggesting that you relax and not be over-controlling. K-1's do not get a green card when they arrive in the US. She will need to file the I-485 after you are married.
  17. OK - we are booked at the Master's Inn Maingate on Entry Point Blvd off Irlo Bronson Expy Oct 12 departing Oct 20 The price is $39/night (way down from the summer rates) I've stayed there before, going to Disneyworld with my son. I think the traffic situation there is better. You are very close to Disneyworld, and always going against the traffic. Entry Point Blvd is actually a side entrance to Animal Kingdom. See you there Don't hurry on the reservations - this is the off-season, that's why prices are so low
  18. Add us to the list, but I'll be happy if they get us her card before I have to renew her EAD again in March.
  19. This is off-season there. Anywhere around DisneyWorld is dirt cheap $24 and up. My favorite when I used to take my son to Disneyworld was Masters Inn Maingate @ $45. We may stay for a week if we can make plans with others.
  20. The mother can file an I-130 as an LPR - it will be upgraded when and if she becomes a citizen.
  21. No - as both Curt and I found out, it is very easy to get an appointment for the K-2 interview. But it must be used within 1 year of the K-1
