Sounds like you know what you're doing, but an interview is possible, but much less likely than for the 2 year card
-
YES ! But do they show a Hong Kong, or a Guangzhou destination?
-
File the AR-11 NOW for your wife, and am I-865 for yourself, NOW. The online form is for pending applications.
-
That sounds normal to me - most likely, no one will ever ask to look at the x-ray. The medical report is in your file, and good for a year. Maybe Jing can clarify why they need another TB test.
-
The date they gave you was Friday. The date it is actually picked up by DHL is usually a couple of days later. So that would be this Tuesday at the earliest.
-
This thread seems confused here - is anyone seeing a requirement for a TB test here in the states? If so, is it from the USCIS or your doctor? Did you have anything other than a clear reading in GUZ? Section 5 (vaccinations) says nothing about a TB test. Section 2 does - this should have been filled in in China and included in the sealed package.

There are two other things - the Ombudsman and your Congressman. I don't especially want to have to go to court with a Writ of Habeus Mandimus or whatever it is. The infopass pass guy told us that it was on one side of someone's desk waiting to be shuffled to the other (nothing more was needed). The Ombudsman told us that they were approving AOS applications without waiting for the name check, and they wouldn't look at it any further. The Congressman told us the same. So 90 days later, we are trying again, and expect to hear something shortly. i'd inquire again at another info pass appointment . . . uh, okay

What is a CR1 and who can file
Randy W replied to TheMace's topic in Consulate Process: P-3 ~ Interview
No - the USCIS does not give out visas - they can only reaffirm the petition and send it back. I'm not sure that they do this in cases where the only reason given was, "Not a bonafide relationship" The "Not a bonfide relationship" was the reason for denying the visa. -
du¨xi¨¨!! Congrats. Hopefully, we're not far behind (been saying that all year)

Randy, I am not sure I quite follow you on this statement. Care to expand a little? I guess it's simpler than it sounds - The whole purpose of the interview is for the VO to determine if you have a valid relationship. The visa can be denied if he decides you do not. No one else will interview your SO. No one can override the decision. -
Now that's something that would never happen in the US.

If you get married in another country, you would interview in that country's consulate for a K3. Several people have done this in Hong Kong, if she is eligible to go there. -
China has new rules for Foreigners in traffic accidents
Randy W replied to a topic in The Middle Kingdom - 中国
When I was in India, it was almost unheard of to get someone to show up in court, so the rules were: 1. Traffic accidents were dealt with on the spot (mob rule - rich-looking foreigners would be deemed the most guilty) 2. The police carried billy clubs - traffic fines came in the form of a bashed-out head or tail light. -
I recall Americans this way too..well a long time ago. I know a Chinese (Beijing) friend who was named for her birthmark (that's as much of the story that I got)

Entering Chinese Characters WITHOUT PINYIN
Randy W replied to griz326's topic in Chinese Language Forum
Blackberry's do this also, but no touch screen, so I'm not sure how you input the Chinese characters. If I want to input a Chinese character, I'll find it somewhere, and just cut and paste. Fingers make fairly poor styli - you have to learn where your callouses are - I'm surprised that the iPhone does this. I would think this is fairly common, since a lot of the (different brands) phones are sold in China also. -
What is a CR1 and who can file
Randy W replied to TheMace's topic in Consulate Process: P-3 ~ Interview
You have heard from several already. The "Not a Bonafide Relationship" banner is a reason that passes all legal muster - the USCIS cannot refute (they weren't at the interview). It holds up unless the VO decides to change his mind, with no explanation needed. The CR1 is the visa your wife will get as a result of you filing the I-130. You may also file another I-129F after you get the NOA1 receipt for the I-130/CR1 petition. The I-129F may result in a K-3 visa. -
Denied K1 at Gz. What next?
Randy W replied to Michael&Guiying's topic in Consulate Process: P-3 ~ Interview
Yeah I remember now - I think your's was settle without a court hearing - just through the mail? Randy, it is my understanding that the issuance of a NOID is not settled with a court hearing. The court hearing only comes if the USCIS coincides with GZ and an appeal is necessary. Yes - it's the revocation of the petition that you need to be concerned about. My understanding is that this would ONLY happen in court -
Yes - let us know!

Sniper guy? Holy crap Randy, you guys have been sniping at China for months. The true sniping begins when someone shows up that disagrees with anything Roger posts in this forum. I honestly fail to understand why anyone that feels China is such an oppressive place, with a population ready to explode would even consider marrying someone that was born and lived there. My wife, her family, my co-workers, and nearly everyone I meet love China. They also appreciate many of the things America has to offer, but at the same time take deep offense from pushy Westerners. Maybe some of you feel like you rescued your partner from China, and it grates against your core to hear from those that truly do love China, yes, love China even despite the areas that need improvement. Are you on a mission to rescue the people of China, and to point out to all Candle members that there are problems there? Holy crap again. Anyone that has visited China, be it one day, week, or whatever can see that it's not like the US. I recall one of Joanne's posts in this thread or another that got buried in sniping-like responses. She mentioned that if one has a child with an unattractive birth-mark, that the family isn't going to expend it's energy drawing attention to it. In a world where it's so easy to find articles and information about the bad of China, you'd think at least you guys with Chinese wives, whether happy or unhappy would spend a little more time looking for the good side. Many members here know exactly what I mean, but the few of you out there will simply continue with your over-worked and boring crap. So it seems to me that you can A) complain about over-worked and boring crap B ) snipe at people who post in those threads C ) start your own "for bored and boring and negative people thread" and just let every who posts there know how you feel about them - or - D ) Start your own under-worked and exciting crap thread

Even physicians discuss diseases that they may not actually have experienced themselves. Some of them are not correctable, except through time. An awareness is usually crucial to the treatment. Fair enough. You guys might consider renaming this forum to the: "Pessimists Guide to China" or "Obsessed with the bad, and out with the good" The second instance is a little wordy though.... You're turning into a sniper, guy! But doesn't "This Could Explode Somewhere . . ." already have negative connotations?
-
Yes, I believe so. Someone suggested that Affidavits of Support from family members carry additional weight, as they show support from the immediate family for the marriage.

What you are saying doesn't indicate understanding, but it's up to you.
