You know some of those cheerleader girls in the white dresses with the red ribbons are actually guys in white shorts? I'm traumatized!

Do you usually answer a question with a question? Richard You want her to say that she looked at a clock ??

NBC showed one last hour of volleybal between 6 and 7. They are cutting to a LOT of commercials and Olympic highlights. I expect the show will wrap up at 9 (Central time). So 2 hours here also, but they're hardly showing the ceremony.

It's on CCTV 4 right now! (well, parts of it) It's about 4 hrs on NBC

POE has our Fianc¨¦e Petition Approval
Randy W replied to Richard & Li's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
Yes, thank god. But, thanks for the info. I'm glad I don't have to pay them more than the minimum required. I'm not exactly happy with the efficiency and effectiveness of the service rendered. Good news - glad you found it. I hate making donations to those people. -

My guess is that they'll just mail it back, with no evidence of eligibility. -

But they may just return the whole thing to you. At least you have 6 months to a year after her arrival before you might get anyone's attention. -
W#hat a feeling! Congrats!

bringing stepson to the united states
Randy W replied to lostinblue's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
Thanks, Rob, but he already knew to file an I-130, and others have better experience with the custody issues, so I left it to see what they had to say. -

the VO stuffs ALL papers into an envelope, which is handed over (sealed) to the IO. The IO always keeps everything in the package, with no thought as to what it is. There is no opportunity to get anything back. Hopefully, you made a copy of it before you sent it to China. It's basically her proof that she is eligible to file for AOS. Without it, I think you would have to file an I-130. But you can order a duplicate. I'm sure someone else will chime in. -

You will see everything in your file at the AOS interview - this is normal procedure. You should already have everything you need, including the NOA2. You can order a duplicate of this, but I think it costs something like $200. The VO shouldn't have taken this. -
China gymnastics gets too much bad rap!
Randy W replied to spacebar's topic in The Middle Kingdom - 中国
It was announced on NBC when he made his dives. He is not violating any rules. The 16 year age limit is from the Gymnastics Federation. -

You would have to SEE the documents to know what was on them. She had a need for one, since it is apparently what is accepted for proof of age. She may or may not have ever traveled out of the country. Interestingly enough, Nadia Comenci was 14 at the Montreal Olympics in 1976, the year before they raised the minimum age to 15. -
My friend's EAD card never received in the mail
Randy W replied to AmyAndDoug's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
I see now where it says (on page 7, under What is the Filing Fee?" so those guys are off the hook, unless they need a replacement. -
Yes of course these things tend to "trickle down"

My friend's EAD card never received in the mail
Randy W replied to AmyAndDoug's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
OK, Dan - do you know this from reading on VJ that someone successfully renewed their EAD without a fee, or do you see this in the instructions somewhere? As far as I've seen, the instructions are ambiguous (and don't specifically mention) about these renewals. -
Except, of course, when you find yourself at a loss for anything cogent to add and resort to calling someone a socialist. Trying hard is not quite the same as actually doing something

Good night, Jesse.

Don't they PAY taxes, rather than the other way around ?

So?? What's your point? That you and Roger disagree with the content of the article? Or would you prefer taking a more non-committal posture and profess yourself just to be a poster of information without an opinion? Of course we know that Roger has an opinion on this topic. Have a look: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=426252 You asked if I noticed the title. I had. You're entitled to your own opinion. You don't seem to care for any other.

Bad news - from the instructions: Yes, it's a rip-off! -

I believe they can include a copy of the NOA1 for the AOS. This is true if they file for EAD and AOS at the same time, or they they file the original EAD at a later date. I'm not entirely sure, though, if they file either for a replacement or a renewal if the fee applies or not. If it does, that's bad news for everyone who file for AOS after July 30, 2007 and needs to renew their EAD. The website seems vague on this. Dan - have you heard of anyone on VJ renewing or replacing their EAD under the new fee structure? -
There you go again Randy. For your information, Roger opened the topic and personally typed the title to it. You can see the title to the topic can't you? So, again, I restate that Roger opened the topic citing an article and commented on its content. It's not hard for a reasonable person to see how the topic evolved into something that has nothing to do with his original post; and again, the content of the article about the people of China facing an impending civil explosion is based solely on Roger's conjecture and the authors conjecture. China is no more ready to explode than your underwear; unless of course you loaded them this morning... Yes - and I see the quotes around it, and the exact words in the article, attributed to "Li Datong, a prominent Chinese political writer". All words from the OP are copied directly from the article.
-
from the article So "Roger's belief that there is going to be an EXPLOSION in China" is actually a direct quote from a prominent Chinese political writer, and not Roger's belief at all. The article also states "But nearly all of the media have been unanimous on one positive point: Average Chinese citizens are immensely proud of these Olympics." So WHO is being negative about WHAT here ?? It wasn't Roger - he used quotes (" ") around "this could explode somewhere"
