I-864 for sponsor employed in China
Randy W replied to waingro's topic in Consulate Process: P-3 ~ Interview
You may wish to draft a cover letter that shows your actual income. An accountant should be able to show this. We have seen people report zero adjusted gross income income, who still had more than enough to meet the poverty line requirement (and were awarded the visa) The income tax return is simply one piece of evidence - provide others. -
Looking to Invite Inlaws to USA for Visit
Randy W replied to jtaylo69's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
Your inlaws are applying for the visa, not you. They will need a letter of invitation from you, and maybe an affidavit of support. It's all in Tine's thread, which Dan gave you a link to. -
It wasn't forgotten in Hong Kong http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=asia

Best wishes for both of you

I-130 approved - what's next?
Randy W replied to katnreno's topic in General Visa Discussion & First Steps
That would be the equivalent of NOA2. Be sure to keep it in a safe place. Although you probably won't need it (K-1's need it for AOS), it's your proof of an "available visa number" -
Well, you just did!

Come back in 2 days and see if you can regain any respect back. Such confrontations and violent gestures will not be tolerated. You'll find plenty of other websites which might allow that or encourage that as a sign of 'respect', but not here. Besides, he didn't identify the source of his quote: "I would be interested in your knowledge that this book is funded by, like people in your family, who are in anti-Chinese organizations. [/b]Your post reads rather biased." Seems rather confrontational to me. If we were in a bar and you said that to me, I'd punch ya out. Like I said before, Joanne was there and is more than entitled to her opinion. If you want to earn any respect from members here, the place to start is by showing it to others. You can start with an apology to Joanne.

28 days, still in customs
Randy W replied to Dave&Hong's topic in Consulate Process: P-3 ~ Interview
I dig this up once in a while - notice the date http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...p;p=28295 -
I am still a Chinese citizen with a ten year green card, I may apply for the US citizen, but my Chinese passport will expire July 18, 2009. From the website, http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/t84229.htm . that I need to go to Houston to renew my passport. Unfortunately from what I have read, the Chinese consulates no longer accept passport renewals through passport services unless you are very old or very young, the passport holder needs to visit the consulate to renew the passport. http://www.visarite.com/ChinaPassportExtension.htm This is very true, but at least you come away from it with an 10 year expiration date on the new one!
-
You go to the (Chinese) consulate that serves your state. Some have reported success, others have reported being turned away going to a different consulate.
-
Yes, they will take your picture at the consulate($10 for 2 - you need 3) - they tend to reject pictures from elsewhere anyway. Thr line is short, but so are their hours (9 to 11, and 1 to 3:30 or something like that) To avoid a return trip, being a self-addressed, stamped envelope with enough postage for both old and new. I believe they will accept this for a fee, but do not volunteer this information. They are rude, but there's not a whole lot to it.
-
Yes - we had someone have their interview re-scheduled, because of a move. Then the AOS application was denied, because they failed to show at the original interview (USCIS mistake here). They spent a year afterward getting that mess straightened out (successfully) Try to avoid re-scheduling, if at all possible. If she is out of the country at the time of her scheduled interview, she might be denied entry.

Permanent Resident Cards received ...
Randy W replied to bob&haiqing's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
Close to it, if not! Can't get any quicker than that! Congrats! -
Yes - for a fiancee visa, money transferred in either direction can be misinterpreted as somehow "buying" or "rewarding" the other person, while money exchanged between spouses can only be seen as spousal support.
-
Yeah - now they can keep the copyright infringement within a single country! Check out the GM's Junk Heap link on that page Hummer owners must be spinning in their (rolling) coffins!
-
They will often respond within a day to an important matter. Email and fax are their only methods of communication to applicants. The call center is in Shanghai, and only has access to what the consulate puts on the computer system Email is best, since they often make you "prove" who you say you are before responding to a fax.

Contact GUZ at their email address, or by fax. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/contactiv.html (Use the IV contacts, even though she's K-1)

You should, for your own benefit, answer the question - "What STATE is Washington, D.C. in?" Hhhmm...let's see,,, in a STATE of REBELLION?... CLOSE ENOUGH!! WE HAVE A WINNER! . . . and Hillary Clinton would be the Secretary of State, in this case, performing a function similar to the OTHER Secretaries of (actual and not countries) states That is why the Chinese Embassy would send single certificates to the Dept of State, since they are also located in this State of REBELLION!

To answer your OTHER question:
-
Perhaps you could try saying something DIFFERENT What STATE do YOU think the Embassy is in? The Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C. I hope that's what you mean or should I ask you to define 'STATE'? The link to their website has been posted in this thread several times. . . . and WHERE is the Government for the City of Washington, D.C.? (I'm leading into WHO is the Secretary of State for Washington, D.C.?)
