  1. I translated all my documents by myself, it did not cost me a dime to translate, but I paid the notary fee.
  2. You go to the (Chinese) consulate that serves your state. Some have reported success, others have reported being turned away going to a different consulate. i see!!, HelloWorld, you must have thought Lisa was a U.S. Citizen and she was trying to renew her U.S. passport, right? Some time ago, I was reading from the NYC Consulate that they no longer "renew" passports. They just issue you a new passport instead. If you live far away from Consulate, like I am, you could try a reputable local Chinese travel agency to see if they can help you get a new Chinese passport for a service fee. I am still a Chinese citizen with a ten year green card, I may apply for the US citizen, but my Chinese passport will expire July 18, 2009. From the website, http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/t84229.htm . that I need to go to Houston to renew my passport.
  3. My passport will expire on July 18, I wish to travel to Houston to renew my passport. I tried to call the embassy, after calling the correct phone number and never receiving any answers . I thought that I might find some help here 1 what I wanted to know: can they take my picture at the embassy and , how much it costs? 2 when I renew my passport, how long do I need to wait in the hall? 3.are they difficult to deal with? I live in Arkansas, it is a long way to drive there, so I just hope that I can renew my passport without driving twice to there. thanks
  4. First of all there is an incubation time so testing before any antibodies are made is USELESS second this whole thing is another media overblown mess, this type of influenza is no more deadly than the regular flu. There is no pan epidemic The test used is a virus ampification test, and can show that the virus is present in the nasal tissue PRIOR to Illness ( so I was NOT correct) according to the latest from the CDC he influenza is in 47 states ,4000 confirmed cases BUT only 3 deaths is is not any worse than the normal # of other flu cases. the problem is that this a new form and there is limited immunity in the populations from exposure to previous infections. ALL viruses can mutate and that is the real worry .

  6. I have seen posts of people having no problems visiting a different consulate for passport renewal, I would simply visit the one in NYC and give it a try. My passport will be expired in July , I live in Arkansas, I supposed to go to Houston to get my renewal passport. I am thinking I may have to take the trip to Texas.
  7. I applied my ten year's green card last April, the Immigration center issued me a year of extension, I got my ten year green card this March, my green card expired last June.
  8. I just read it again. I knew more about the visa now.
  9. does anybody know that when they can apply for the visa again?
  10. Ours did the same thing and we finally convinced them to do it again and they did - and got the visa. They have already been here 4 times. Chances are they will get another VO who will allow them to come. thanks , I think they will try again. and I will send more pictures to them.
  11. I asked them to try again, my parents were so unhappy that they even refused to try it again. but I will try to persuade them to try again.
  12. The vo did not even look at any documents, she just looked at the pictures my parents showed to her, then she asked my parents about the picture, my mother could not remember where we took the picture, then she issued a denial visa. she also said that I did not live in USA long enough. I am really mad at that , because everybody told us the VO looked at the ties in China, my sister and my two brothers all have very good jobs in China , and my father retired from a company. and my parents have bank accounts and own a house.
  13. it is really help me a lot . they are getting their passport. I hope they can come here in May.
  14. I tried hard to find some information on how to apply my parents to come to USA to visit us, I did not get much information as I need . how can I start to apply ? how long it takes to get a visit visa ? I think it is tough to get a visit visa, but anyway I still want to try our luck. thanks for any information.
