  2. Hi guys, I am thinking about going back to china for the chinese new year. Just to be sure...I have a Chinese passport, a valid green card and a marriage certificate to explain my last name change. Do I need anything else to come back to US? Thanks! Shuyan

  7. Hi guys, So I am putting things together for my I-751 package. And I hope you guys can help me check whether there's anything I missed. Payments to US Department of Homeland Security. A check in the amount of $590 total ($505 for I-751 filling fee and $80 for biometrics fee). Cover Letter. Form I-751 joint petition for removal of conditions of permanent resident status regarding me. Copy of my permanent resident card, front and back. Copy of my California identification card. Copy of my social security card. Copy of my husband's driver¡¯s license. Evidence to verify the status of our marriage and ongoing relationship: Copy of a certified copy of our marriage license. Copy of a residential rental agreement with both of our names on the lease. Three original letters written by U.S. citizen friends with the envelope showing our address as current. Copy of tax transcripts for 2009 and 2010 years we have filed jointly. Copy of Comerica Bank checking and saving statements showing joint accounts. Copy of actual debit/credit cards showing a joint account. Copy of actual health insurance cards showing same account number. Copy of actual dental insurance cards showing same account number. Plus copy of dental record of the oral surgery (wisdom teeth extraction) in December, 2010. Copy of most recent utility bill, Comcast bill, car insurance bill, cell phone bill. Copy of the mails, bills and receipts addressed to me at the same address. Copy of documentation of the vacations that we have taken, including flight itineraries, boarding passes, restaurant bills, and pictures of us together on vacation. Other pictures of us together with family and friends. Copy of greeting cards addressed to us both. Copy of ticket stubs for some of the many things we¡¯ve enjoyed together. I am a little worried because we don't really have joint ownership of anything and we don't have any kids. We do have a car but I guess it's too late to add me to the title now. I am sending like 80 photos, hoping to make it up a little... I would really appreciate if you guys can give me any kind of advice regarding my I-751 package.
  8. Hi, I am preparing my I-751 package following the pinned post by David in this section. http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29296 I am wondering whether there is any new requirements because that post is 3 years old. I noticed the fee should be $505, add $85 biometric fee for a total of $590.
  9. Thanks a lot but both linked files are damaged. Can you open it? They work for me, if using a mac, will have to save the file and then use Adobe Acrobat Reader to open the files, mac's preview function will not open the PDF files. If PC try rt-click and select save as, and save on PC and then open the file. Thanks. It works for my husband's pc too. must be something wrong with mine.

  11. Hi Does anyone know where else I can get a download of form I-751? I went to the USCIS link below but the file has been damaged and can not be repaired. http://www.uscis.gov/i-751 And also what is the average time you need to wait before you get the new green card after filing. Thanks a lot.
  12. hi. We are in Detroit visiting and thinking about driving to Windsor. My question is will there be any problem to go and come back with my green card? I do have my Chinese passport with me but I changed my last name after marriage, so they don't match and I do not have my marriage certificate with me. Thank you.
  13. Hello, I applied for my California id card at the DMV back in Feb. this year and I just got a letter from DMV saying "unable to validate the documentation". I took my husband's last name when we got married. And it turns out that my last name in the system is still my maiden name. I am so confused how can this be since I got both my green card and SSN with my husband's last name on it. I talked two different agent from legal presence verification unit. One said that I need to go to a California field office to get this corrected and the other one said that I need to go to the local DMV to add my maiden name as a AKA and that would do it. Does anyone know why is this happening and how to fix it?
