  1. If it;s not copyrighted There is nothing wrong with it legally. I applaud your view on the moral aspect though. Most Chinese I know wouldn't be too concerned about it. This is a battle you probably can't win.My advise would be to decide if it's worth fighting.

If an artist sign their art it is copyrighted by American law. It does not have to copyrighted on paper, American courts will side with the artist that sign the art. you can buy the rights from the artist or draw your own. When I sell my art I sell the art not the rights, if I sell the rights I must sign and have it notarize that I have turn over the rights.

The problem is I doubt very much you will find the artist. More than likely it been copy from others, in Asian copying a master art is a learning lesson doing it over and over until they after many years can change it as a master.

looking at it the art It is very simple and look like something someone does over and over to sell to tourist. I doubt you have any problem using it, it would not be hard to draw for yourself. and doubtfully anyone would come looking for you.

  2. I have a large life insurance on me and anytime I try to tell her about it she will change the subject or tell me not to talk about death. One day she even turn off her computer but before she did she said "If I want to talk about life and living plz call, if not go to bed!" So i stop talking about it. But it there when the time comes.

  3. How do you go about putting your spouse on your checking or saving account when they not have a Visa or SSN. One of the prove they ask for to show being married on the I-130 is a joint account with a bank. Last I remember most banks will not put someone on your account unless they with you in their bank.

It also be more easier on me if she was on the bank account.

Only found one bank that in viet nam and america at the moment and that is citibank, I'm considering to open a account there this july in hanoi with my Thoa.

I not sure if fileing a IRS form w-7 for a tax number would work. kind of at lost here figure David might have some idea or anyone else.

  4. Grilled cheese sandwiche with tomato soup

    or fried baloney sandwiche

    macaroni and cheese

macaroni and cheese with ground hamburger or tuna

I survive many a nights on the above and the look of my SO when she see me eat a grilled cheese can only mean it not good for my body.

my body love and craves cheese and bread BLT!!!!! but the concept of what we american call the sandwiche just seem to travel over my SO head

why would someone put cheese between two breads? and slice bread? that a puzzlement i get from most when I'm in viet nam. cheese is hard enough to find.

Then the omelet it took me 2 days before I broke down and taught the hotel kicten staff that fried eggs or scramble eggs is not a omelet make, if you teaching someone to cook in their kicten it always best to pay for ingredents they respond much better. also make sure that there not a ban impose on eggs and chickens during an asian flu scare too.

I'm almost afraid to explain the food that most american live on when surviving the world for the first time and that is the macaroni and cheese. I fear the day of opening a box and adding hamburger to the mix or tuna and eatting out of the pan is going to become to a end,

    cheese the other food

  5. THURSDAY, Nov. 30 (HealthDay News) -- Asian immigrants in the United States have lower rates of mental health problems than people, including those of Asian descent, who were born in the country, a new study finds.

For example, the study found that American-born women are twice as likely to have a depressive disorder as Asian-born women living in the United States.

The researchers interviewed nearly 2,100 native-born or immigrant Asian Americans, 18 and older, about their history of a number of mental health problems: depression, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders, substance and alcohol abuse, and post traumatic stress disorder.

"Roughly 48 percent of Americans will have some kind of lifetime disorder. In our study, less than one in four Asian-American immigrants will have a disorder. However, that won't necessarily be the case for their children and grandchildren. If trends continue, rates for them will go up, and that suggests that more investment is needed for prevention programs," study lead author David Takeuchi, a sociologist and social work professor at the University of Washington, said in a prepared statement.

    Other findings from the study:

There were no significant differences among the main Asian immigrant groups in the United States -- Chinese, Filipinos and Vietnamese.

Among Asian men, those born elsewhere are less likely to have a substance abuse problem than those born in the United States.

Asian immigrants who arrived in the United States as elementary school-age children have an easier time learning English than older children but are more likely to develop a substance abuse problem.

Takeuchi said this study raised issues that warrant further investigation. For example, he'd like to compare the mental health circumstances of immigrants who voluntarily migrate and those who are refugees.

"Someone who is a voluntary immigrant doesn't typically suffer the severe trauma that a refugee who is fleeing persecution or war does," Takeuchi said.

He also wants to investigate how discrimination impacts the mental health of Asian Americans

  6. my brother paying 1000 child support for his 2 daughters and he has the daughters 6 days a week because the court will not give him custody, his ex just spend the money on clothing and jewlery, he even have to stock their refrig if his daughters have to stay at his ex for more than 1 day. only time she will take the children is on holiday so he can't bring them down for family to see. He has it all documented but the court still will not change custody. she get into a screaming match with her daughter every time they together. She has no interest in raising her children only in making his life living hell.

court need to start changing or new law to address.

today more men are raising their children than women are.

  8. BOSTON - In an effort to make the citizenship exam more meaningful, the federal government said Monday it will test an exam that relies less on trivia ¡ª such as asking the name of the president's house ¡ª and more on applicants' grasp of American democracy.

The new exam will be given to volunteers beginning this winter in Albany, N.Y.; Boston; Charleston, S.C.; Denver; El Paso, Texas; Kansas City, Mo.; Miami; San Antonio; Tucson, Ariz.; and Yakima, Wash.

The current test is heavy on historical facts, and includes questions about the colors of the U.S. flag and the name of the form used to apply for citizenship. The new exam will ask about the Bill of Rights and the meaning of democracy.

"The idea is not to toss up roadblocks, it's to make sure people who apply for citizenship and want to become citizens understand and adhere to the values we have as a society, the values that are part of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights," said Shawn Saucier, spokesman for the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The current exam doesn't guarantee knowledge of those values, Saucier said. A person may know which state was the 49th to be added to the union, for example, but not understand voting rights, he said.

The portion of the citizenship exam used to test basic English reading and writing skills also will be changed to include civic vocabulary words, Saucier said.

"We want them to study and look at this information not toward the eye of memorizing it for a trivia exam," he said.

During the pilot, officials hope to work out any problems with the test and refine the exam. The revised test will be given to all applicants for naturalization beginning in 2008.

Officials will test 125 new questions on 5,000 people and eventually narrow the group of questions to 100, the same number that can be asked on the current exam. To pass, immigrants must correctly answer six of 10 questions given. If they fail, they will be given the option of taking the old test.

The changes could make the exam more difficult for some people, said America Calderon, the program manager at the Central Resource Center, a Washington, D.C., organization that offers citizenship and other programs to Latino immigrants. She guessed it also could push more people into formal classes, instead of trying to learn the information on their own.

"It's more difficult because the typical immigrant is trying to struggle with English and trying to learn the 100 questions right now," Calderon said.

But she supports the idea, because it could push new citizens to participate in their government, a goal of her organization.

"In a way, it's good they have a path to civic participation," she said.

All U.S. citizens ¡ª not just new ones ¡ª could brush up on their civic knowledge, said Roger Clegg, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, a conservative think tank that supports the assimilation of immigrants.

"It's also good for the people who are already here, because there will be fewer problems and fewer friction if we all understand what America is all about," he said.

  9. Bailey's is darn good stuff, but you could not buy it at 9 PM in Alabama, the liquor is controlled by the state and the state stores close at 6. Does Oklahoma have privately owned liquor stores? Even if they did, they probably were not open later than 9 PM. You probably could have gotten out of it. Where did you find Bailey's that late at night? Or you could have turned the thing a different way and told her you could only get it at a bar in the nighttime and that would cost at least $6 a shot, which would have been too expensive for her to agree to and you could have got out of it that way. Don't give in to the "training" but instead you can train her. It does work over a long period of time. They can learn to be more logical, believe it or not. Dan is correct in using sweet talk also, in its place. Ha, 5000 years of culture - whatever - our culture is older, very very much older and goes back to the cave paintings and then to the invention of agriculture at about 10,000 years ago, then to the ancient Egyptians, the Phoenicians, the ancient Greek culture, the Romans and then just a couple thousand years into modern times. The earliest art work was a sculpture of a horse found in a cave in Europe dating to 40,000 years ago!!! We have vestiges in our culture from those earliest times.

  11. This is the response I got back from Missouri Department of Education.I hope this will help other that want to get thier degree accreditted.

We are unable to evaluate foreign credentials in this office. Before we can process your

application for a Missouri teaching certificate, you must send all transcripts and other

certification information to a United States credentialing agency that provides transcript

analysis service. The analysis must be translated into English and include the following:

specific course titles, credit hours earned, letter grades received, the cumulative grade

point average, and a statement verifying the completed program's equivalency to a United

    States degree.

After you receive the official analysis from the credentialing agency, you may apply for a

Missouri teaching certificate. The official analysis from the credentialing agency will be

accepted in lieu of the institutional recommendation. Upon receipt of the completed

application packet, our office will complete a course by course evaluation to determine

    your eligibility for Missouri certification.

You will need to complete a Missouri Teacher Certification Application and submit

fingerprints for a Background Check. The certification requirements are available on the

    DESE website; http://www.dese.mo.gov/divteachqual/teachc...quirements.html .

Although we do not endorse any of the agencies listed on the attached page, we have

contacted each of them and verified that they provide all the information we require.

This information was current as of April, 2005.

Springfield has both a 2 year and 4 year program to on nursing

  13. One thing that I recently saw was the NEW OF-171 dated 03/2006.

There is now a REQUIREMENT for all EX information, now if you have this information available at the interview it can easily generate a blue slip.

In most cases the if the overcome evidence is presented as exactly what they requested, which often is a very small stack, the VO will be able to quickly review the papers and make a decision. Most often this is with a pink slip.

This is where too much information could easily cause anyone problems. Unfortunately, they are required to examine every item submitted and if they are as busy as stated I could see them saying it will take more time to review.
