  1. Hey Tony, where did you find the ticket to Shanghai? My Fiance is flying from Shanghai to Detroit and we are looking for a cheap ticket. Any advice? thanks! zanyi
  2. I noticed how some people have pictures taken in studios. Also some have pictures taken smiling infront of monuments. maybe they are looking for more natural pictures like not posing but laughing, talking with friends, joking around not directly looking into the camera? not so "set-up"? Its silly but maybe GZ just needs to find a reason. So if all your pics are in the studio or all posing they might use it as a reason to deny you...just a thought.
  3. Congratulations! My fiance got the same VO and got pink:)
  4. thanks everyone. I am a law student so I had to use my mom as a financial co sponsor. actually i was confused about whether both parents had to sign or not. in the end my mom's signature alone was enough (its her income we are using since my dad is retired). My fiance said that he gave my mother's and my I-134 to the chinese worker before hs interview. at the interview they only asked who was his sponsor-reply: Fiancee's mother. that was IT! I included so much financial info. since i thought it'd be one of our red flags. I included my mom's stocks, employment letter, a personal letter from my parents both promising to support him and given him money each month, etc, and three years of tax returns, and bank statement. I had my scholarship money info, three years of non-filing verification (Since i haven't worked), and my bank statement. They asked for NONE of that. I really think that what others have said is true. If your case has some red flags it gives them the incentive scrutinize details. I think they review and have an impression of whether or not you pass before they talk to you. But as others have done, I really front loaded my I-129f including all the things I thought would answer any questions they may have about our sitaution in particular. We got the african american woman that many have said usually gives blue/white. but my fiance said although she was stern she was nice at the end when she kept congratulating him as he thanked her and had a big smile. we had so much stuff that they didnt look at including proof that I studied at the same school as my fiance before or my passport copy or proof I flew there (all this stuff was included with I-129f) or three notarized letters that our mutula friends wrote about us. nor did they ask for communication proof or anything (my fiance speaks english at the interview-but we communicate in 3 languages together). Nor was age brought up, we are both in our 20s. we also had lots of pictures sicne I went two time and stayed for almost a year each time-100 in total. she flipped through them all. All in all I think it is a good idea to bring as much info as you can with you just in case, always err on the side of too much info. We had an 8lbs folding file with 7 folders and he put it on the desk to make sure the VO saw it. Hope this helps, feel free to PM me or reply on this thread if you have questions! I really appreciate the help that candle has been and I want to return the favors!!! oh btw Joanna-my fiance in China is the guy, I am the girl unusual but true....
  5. now i am too excited to concentrate! Like the pic. B) My fiance wore a suit too! Wow! Great news! Congratulations to you both! I think you can relax now and concentrate on your law exams.
  6. yeah i told him to contact the post office monday and tuesday just in case.
  7. Congrats Steve! I am so happy for you! my fiance got pink too!
  8. My fiance got PINK! The VO was the African American woman. The questions were: 1. How many times has your fiancee been to China? 2. What does your fiancee do in America? 3. What is your job? 4. Who is your financial sponsor? 5. Do you have pictures? Congratulations, you've passed! He also said that he felt like more people got pink than blue, but there are still a lot of people waiting for the interview. Because of the Thanksgiving Holiday he won't be able to pick up the a untill Wednesday. I'll add more later.
  9. thanks! i won't be at the interview since i am in law school and getting ready for exams--yikes! can't concentrate at all on school work. we will let you know how the interview went and questions asked so that hopefully it'll help others awaiting their interviews. the info on CFL sure has helped us thus far!
  10. My parents immigrated to the US also. I just put the month and year of their entry. As for visa type, you should find out what they came to US for and find the corresponding visa for that purpose. look on the consulate website for visa types.
  11. with the letter of intent do we just bring it with us to the interview and give it to the VO if they ask for it?
  12. What if the spouse is retired? My mom is our co-sponsor. My dad is retired so just my mom signed the 1-134 since it is her income alone that is above the requirement. I'd love to hear how you easily explain to a chinese SO in the midst of an interview why there are two signatures on a single signature form? What exactly does she explain to a VO??? The bottom line is... make it as easy as possible for your SO.. otherwise it is SOL... I'm beating a dead horse, but I was trying to keep it alive and kicking for a while... i have a old copy (pre-2/2008) of the p3 and p4 from the guz site. one of the forms (the of-167) stated that when using a sponsor that is marrried both parties should sign the i-134. it makes good sense, especially if both parties are earning income.
  13. hey stevek you forgot one for next wednesday. YOU. Wish everyone best of luck!

  15. Hey Joe, I am happy that you guys got your interview date. Jia you!
  16. Oh my goodness, what do you have that weighs 56lbs? our evidence is all paper/photos and is definitely under 10 lbs, more like 4-5lbs. Is that normal? O M G Jimi YingYing will be there for her interview the day before Wei, hers in on Thursday. If 11 lbs is the kitchen sink then I think we must have thrown in the hot tub as well. Wei is taking 56 lbs with her. She kept asking for more and I kept sending it. Best of luck to YingYing. Think Pink. Doug
  17. THanks, I will keep calling. Are you in the batch that was sent out Jul 22 too? Hello ZaiYi, If GUZ don't put it in their system DOS only see it is in custom. They told me it still sitting in Custom. Once GUZ put it in is when they send out P3. Give it another week at least. Joe
  18. I called DOS again today and the woman said that the package has not even been picked up by the consulate yet. I told her that the dhl website says it has been but she said it says otherwise in her computer. Also yesterday I called and the woman said it was in AP. Seems like DOS doesn't have everything together... oh well, I'll call again tomorrow.

  22. It has been 55 days since i got my NOA2 and I have been checking the DHL website regularly for status updates. I just checked and found that it had changed from "clearance delay" to "Arrived at DHL Facility as of: September 9". Does anyone know what that means? Thanks, Zanyi
