  1. What bus stop or metro/subway stop is closest to the US consulate? My bus stops at the Yuexiu Gong Yuan (Yuexiu Park Station, Line 2) Subway Station. thanks
  2. Hi!!! I too want to change my interview date. My fiancee received the P4 package on Jul 22; the interview date was Aug 5. That is too soon. I used the web page to email the Consulate on Jul 23; I also sent in 2 faxes on Jul 23. So far, there has been no response. My fiancee also sent in a fax this morning. How long did it take the Consulate to respond to you? Any other ways to reach them to change the interview date? A worried waterox
  3. After your fiancee mails in her OF 169, the EMS slip, and the DS 230 Part 1, there is a whole bunch of paperwork that you will need to obtain (tax returns, proof of address, proof of employment, etc.) Check out this link for more info: http://candleforlove.com/forums/index.php?...hl=kitchen+sink
  4. How should my friend and his wife prepare so that when his wife goes to the interview that she does not get a blue slip? I am thinking of the following: - write a letter in English and have it notarized that her job as a high school teacher required her to be a CCP member and that she is not a threat to the US - resign from the job and the party even though this is less than 2 years away from the application What do you think?
  5. This may show how naive I am. Is it possible for my friend's wife to leave the Chinese Communist Party before the interview?
  6. I am asking for a friend. He filed a CR-1 for his wife. The NOA2 has been received recently, and now he is in the process of getting paperwork ready for the National Visa Center. His wife is a teacher in a high school. And so she joined the Chinese Communist Party for her job. From reading this forum, it seems that being a member of the CCP means a blue slip. Is there anyway my friend and his wife can resolve this issue? My friend does not speak good English; that is why I am posting on his behalf. Thanks alot!
  7. They are FAR more cooperative with K-2's than they are with K-1's. Ours had an interview date about a week and a half after we requested it. With K-1's, you may get put into a "to be assigned at a later date" black box. It's not a good feeling, but either way should work just fine since he's only trying to delay until September. Thanks for the feedback!!! Would delaying to October be too late?
  8. Thanks, guys! If I pick #1, would the GUZ consulate penalize us in any way?
  9. This is my dilemma. My SO's mother is undergoing surgery in China in Nov 2009, and my SO being the only child wants to be there to care for her mom until Jan 2010. I predict that from my timeline that our interview date will be Jun/Jul 2009. I am fearful that the visa shall expire by 2010. I am thinking of rescheduling the interview date to Sep 2009. Be aware that my SO did not receive the P3 forms yet. How should I approach this? 1) Have my fiancee mail her P3 forms 2 months after she receives them 2) Contact GUZ next week and inform them of the situation 3) Contact DOS in Washington, DC of the situation What do you think? Thanks!!!
  10. Thank you for all the replies. I will be going to the ACS and ACH. I am going to take your advice; before the interview, I will take some pictures with my fiancee to update the book. AS for the vaccinations, I have to think about it. I have health insurance coverage; it might be as cheap as my $20 copay. But, if the doctor makes my fiancee go there several times, then the cost in the US significantly goes up and may be more expensive than GUZ. Jimmy
  11. Hi, I received my NOA2 on Feb 20, 2009. And I got my GUZ case # as of the first week of March, 2009. Now, I am doing the following to prepare for my fiancee's interview at the GUZ consulate. 1) downloaded and filled out all of the P3/P4 paperwork from the GUZ website (scanned and emailed to my SO already) 2) got 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 W2's 3) got 2005, 2006, 2007 tax transcripts; still preparing 2008 tax return 4) will fill out I-134 paperwork in May, 2009 (is that a good time) 5) wrote letter of intent of marriage; will get notarized in May, 2009 6) pondering on letter of evolution of relationship 7) proof of address - paid electric utility bills - copy of driver's license 8) will get bank verification statement 9) will get letter of employment verification in May, 2009 from HR 10) collect paystubs Is there anything I missed? What else should I do? Thank you.
