  1. Whole thing is a crap shoot! I prepared an Evolution of Relationship letter and VO never asked for it. 5 folders of supporting documents taken to interview yet nothing was freaking asked for except pictures and financial documents. They random select human beings for tortures. My wife and I are their latest victims as they laugh at our pain and suffering.
  2. Hey ol' buddy....the stress is over. I am now gettin' ready to kick back and hang my hammock between two trees somewhere in downtown Chinatucky as I have been placed in the Department of State's... "Patriot Forced Relocation Program" Point of Entry: Beijing No worries, mate!! tsap seui Have terlet seat Will travel Enjoy your stay! Let us know how it works out for you.
  3. Homer and Nate...As my fiancee once said..."await interview is easy, one day is one day. Have blue slip, one day is one year." My hope and prayer for both you and your ladies is you get a speedy and successful overcome. tsap seui I 'm still in a state of shock and denial and very often, anger. I'm not sure how I will be able to focus on work tomorrow especially when I have to repeat the same story to my co-workers about 50 times as many are curious about when they will be able to meet my wife. All possible documents Guangzhou might ask were provided to my wife, yet nothing was fvcking asked for except for Pictures and Financial Documents. I have even put my wife on my Company's health insurance plan and have been paying an extra $100 a month so she would be covered...if...when ...she gets here. She is the only beneficiary of a $1 million insurance policy I have at work. 5 Fvcking trips, every trip that was well over 2 weeks stay except for a week trip in Shanghai and yet, my marriage is a fvcking fraud according to the visa officer. Any of the possible visa fraud case "red flags" don't apply to us because 1.) We have never been married. We have no children. First marriage for the 2 of us. 2.) Marriage for financial gain can be ruled out because I have a nice sizable 401k/IRA that my wife is a beneficiary of. My income is well above the poverty level and I have been employed at the same Bank for the past 7 years. So what the fvck is their problem? Blue slips asked for the following: a.) Why did your husband(me) come to China to marry? b.) Does your husband have family in China? c.) Please have your husband state how many trips he made and how you spent time together. We were also asked on the attached pink sheet for 2 statements on the checkbox: 1.) Statements- Letter of Evolutionship 2.) Statements - Number of Trips and how we spent time together. WHY THE HELL DIDN'T VO ask for this information at the interview?? I prepared a Letter of Evolutionship for my wife to take to the interview, yet, the VO never asked for this at the time of the interview. My wife had my original passport, copy of Hotel receipts, airline stubs from 5 trips, etc all with her but never asked for. And why the hell are they asking me if I have family in China? My wife filled out the Family Composition Sheet on her family side and my family side and it clearly shows that both my parents and my 4 siblings have been living in the USA since 1979! These guys have a fvcking nice gigs. They play with people's life and we have no recourse against them. I would be fired from my position if I play this game at work.
  4. Nate, sorry to hear the bad news. I think we saw your wife on 06/05/2008 outside of Tian Garden speaking with Mr. Yang that day.
  5. Just got home. will post more later. But I'm very angry and disappointed. We got the blue
  6. I just got back home after a long 13 hours flight from CAN to LAX and without my wife. We ended up getting a blue slip. Visa Officers asked my wife only 2 questions. 1.) Do you know your husband lives in the USA? Wife: Yes 2.) How did your meet? Wife: Through my uncle in San Francisco. My husband's brother in law used to be my uncle's neighbor in Vietnam. Then she was asked to show 2 supporting documents: 1.) May I see pictures. 2.) May I see financial documents? We got a pink on the 4th and on the 7th, we ended up picking up a blue slip. They asked me why I went to China to marry and if I had family in China. Isn't that what the freaking Family Composition Sheet is for???
  7. We decided to stay 3 days at the Grand Victory and then move to the Grand Palace 2 days before her interview to get settled.
  8. Doesn't she live in San Francisco? Oh no, it's all the horrible things us Californians have done that god struck us down in 1989! Talk about Karma, eh!
  9. It's 10 working days, if you don't pay up. I'm sure it can be done in 1 day if you buy them a box of cigarette or give them 100 RMB. My wife was told initially(GuangXi Province) that she would have to come back next day to apply for her police report(they were on lunch!) and it would take up to 2 weeks. Her relative then went back with her, gave them a box of cigarette and later in the day, she had her police report.
  10. I guess the reporters don't realize that there were been hundreds of millions of starving Chinese if they didn't have a one child policy. You have only so much resource to feed billions of people. The people in China that have resource to feed an extra mouth also have the resource to have more than 1 kid(bride the local officals).
  11. Thanks. I'll definitely look into Yang's place. Don't want to fight for a taxi at 6 am in the morning.
  12. Hello, How much is a 1 bedroom apartment for May 29 to June 5th?
  13. I'm thinking of the Grand Palace, at $62 a night. Anyone have any experience there or hotels near the Consulate? The Westin is $200 during June. My wife would kill me if we stayed there. http://www.cheaptickets.com/App/ViewHotelD...=0&divId=15
  14. hope you checked it before submitting it Unfortunately, I didn't. It does make me a bit concerned. I filled it out for her but she decided to go pay someone 200 yuan to fill it out....shrug. I asked her what did the guy put for the section that ask, "What occupation will you be employed in(or something to that effect)." She said, he put in "WORKER." Guess I'll find out in 3 weeks!
  15. June 4th here. 2 more weeks and I'm off to China again!
  16. I see other people have their passport notarized, that isn't necessary, right?
  17. And don't forget the damn TAXI scam at the Airport. As soon as I landed in Guangzhou, I had this guy following me around asking me if I needed a ride. He quoted me about 300 rmb to get to my hotel. Now I know full well that the trip doesn't cost more than 150 rmb. So I took the Legal Taxi where you have to wait in line and that guy tried to scam me too! Once we got to my hotel, he tried to get more from me, "Come on, you're from American, you're rich. What's another 50 rmb to you? We're all Guang Dong people. Help each other out." It's much worse for Chinese American because they think we're all rich. If you're white, they won't bug you since they know you won't understand what they are saying.
  18. This is a common tactic. I 'm Chinese American also and when I went to Guilin with my cousins, they told me to stay faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from the merchandise because they will try to claim you broke something if you touch it and make you pay 5000 RMB for the damage.
  19. Mine was mailed out from NVC to GUZ on 01/09/08. I checked with the US Consulate office using the website and they told me, "We don't have the package yet...it might be in custom and can taken anywhere from weeks to months."
  20. We see homeless people, drugged out addict, mother begging with their babies near the Bart Station in San Francisco and just walk past them. If you live in San Francisco long enough, it's a common sight and most of us just walk past it now. It's not uncommon to see someone defecated against a building or urinating in the middle of the street in downtown San Francisco during busy rush hour.
  21. Don't pay is my advice. 30-40k RMB is crazy. I had many cousins offered to find me girls in China and money is never asked. I give them a couple of hundred of bucks for the time they spend driving me around, and they are embarrassed to take that money. Would your cousins in the USA ask for money if they found a girl for you in the USA? Hell no.
  22. What's the toilet like? Is it like the bus where it's basically just a hole? I didn't realized that most bus and trains in China have only a hole as a toilet till my last bus trip from Guangzhou to Nanning this year during the winter storm. Now I know why they didn't let me use the toilet till we left the city! My god...so all that feces and urine smell on the road were really human feces from buses and train
  23. Did you ask your cousin to find this girl for you? That's a hell of a cousin asking for money if you didn't ask him to find a girl for you! Usually when you ask the other family(your girlfriend/wife) for money, it involves marriage scam. I'm chinese myself and married a woman in China and I was introduced to her by my cousin and money was never asked. Although I have been offered over $50k on many occassion to be part of a marriage for visa scam.
