Dave G.
Since my wife has gotten here, movies have become sort of interesting. Long story short: I'd like to add some DVDs to our collection that have Chinese subtitles. I just can't seem to find them. If you know of any resources, could you please send me an email with some advice? Normally, I'd come back here and look for responses...but time is too tight these days. Of course, feel free to reply to this topic for others to benefit from what you know. Thanks a ton! Link to comment
PJ
Just about any US movie you buy in China from the DVD vendors that is in English will have Chinese subtitles. We're out here and I'm picking up a bunch. P.J. Link to comment

Guest lilac6451
I have lots of DVDs in Chinese subtitle, all of which were bought in China. Maybe you can book some in China. It is not expensive at all. Link to comment
Alex
Titles purchased in China shouldn't be a problem unless they're pirated..In GZ they were offering the latest releases for 2-3 dollars each...illegal copies no doubt! Link to comment
beijingjenny
I don't even know where to buy 'legit' DVDs in BJ. The best ones in actual shops still cost only a couple $. I took a few pirated films for my dad to try and no prob. Just make sure you have a multi-system player. Link to comment
Guest strawberry nose
In Shenzhen, the American movie DVDs cost only RMB6 with D9 version. If you want to take back to US, take off the cover and put the CD into a CD bag. It will be safe from custom. Link to comment
Guest jimb
Not sure if this is a good topic for this forum (How to smuggle illegal dvd's into the US.) Anyway don't allow your wife or fiancee to try to do this, she could be stopped at customs and sent back to China. Copyright protection is important to many people in the the US, particuarly to those who own the copyright. If you get caught with illegal merchandise one time. I'm sure there will be a notation in your file. You will be closely inspected on any future entry's It is a violation of US law. Please don't advise members on ways to violate US laws on this forum. Just my opinion, but I thought this forum was about how to bring your wife or fiancee to the US, and not how to smuggle illegal merchandise into the US. there are other forums on how to smuggle, tapes DVD's, drugs, gems and porngoraphy into the US. jimb Link to comment
tonado
My wife is now watching the Passion of Christ. I didn't know the movie is in Hebrew. She wants to watch it with Chinese subtitle and I want to watch it with English subtitle. So I let her watch it first. Link to comment

I also purchased it when I was in Shanghai. A great movie!... Link to comment
tywy_99
About movies: Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) Isn't this the movie where Eric Bogosian annihilates Guangzhou with the satellite laser beam?.... Link to comment
Bobby
You might also want to look into buying Superbit versions of the DVD's you want (usually in silver boxes). They cost a little bit more, but tend to have a lot of different languages supported. I discovered this when I saw a copy of Spiderman at Wal-Mart (yes, in South Carolina) with Chinese subtitles.
