Catherineli
Dajia Hao! Shengdan Kuai le! Today is our "Peace Night" in China which means the Christmas Eve. Let me share two kinds of fruits for now. The first one looks like a Buddha's head. So it's called "Buddha". I like to call it "peacock tail pear", my dictionary says it should be "custard apple", I don't know what the real term should be. I only ate once. It tastes very sweet and nice. I like it. Here is the picture:http://img3.imgtn.bdimg.com/it/u=1597396477,3390237690&fm=23&gp=0.jpghttp://img.gomy.com.tw/1180/206145_4.gifNext one I like to share a kind of small fruits only in the north of China. They are called "girls" because girls like to make a whistle out of the small fruits. They look like a young girl in skirt.http://img4.imgtn.bdimg.com/it/u=2534874861,721322461&fm=23&gp=0.jpghttp://img4.imgtn.bdimg.com/it/u=2488908606,2826929768&fm=23&gp=0.jpg However, the above fruits are not special yet. What is special then? I feel apples are the most special ones. Why? Because apples tempted Adam's wife Eve sin;apples hit Sir Issac Newton to wake up with the earth gravity. Sadly apples also poisoned Snow White. Apples help to build up more words such as Adam's apple and road apples= horse turd. Now apples become famous brand of a computer company and dominates cellphone as well. Today, right now in China, apples monopolize the fruit market carrying everyone's desire to bring peace to friends. Wow, I love apples! Hey, Catherine has many apples for everyone on CFL! Who likes to enjoy peace with my apples? Hand up please!Shengdan Kui Le! Ping'an everyone!Catherine

Thomas Promise
Nice information. An American saying for apple is: The apple of my eye. Which means a person or thing which a person has great favor for. IE. My wife Xia is the apple of my eye. Another is a the new Ford F-150 truck is the apple of my eye. Meaning desiring to own one soon.

danb
Shengdan Kuai le!! I like watermelon and I like apples in hot baked apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Catherine, isn't your son your pinguo (apple). I am not sure if that is phrasing it correctly? Are you having a White Christmas in China? Taking the old sled out and "dashing thru the snow and shouting....(erhhhh I forgot what one is suppose to be shouting)" maybe.....its singing "I am dreaming of a White Christmas"? Jingle bells, Jingle bells....Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night. Danb

tsap seui
As well as pink lady and gala apples I love strawberries, pineapple, black berries, and the apples, eaten together with pecan halves, and chased down with Ocean Spray cran apple juice mixed with high pulp OJ....Mmmmm it don't gits no better, and it makes you regular in the mornings when you sit in the "library" with a good book. Even a wife wife yelling outside the door to "hurry UP" doesn't affect my joyful mornin' constitutional. "Go away crazy Chinar woman, ya botha me. This is important business I'm conductin'," shouts I to the crazy person on the other side of the dang door. Rawknee
