happy chinese valentine's day

Recommended Posts

Well, I didn't know. I came here to start a thread. Even from the OP it is too late to have something done, if the wife is IN China. Is it possible to have some kind of notice thing come up on this website, or a gang email go out to all members from mangement, a few days before China time for holidays - of China? Maybe something when you first come to CFL.

OK so it will be a day late for flowers delivered, but wife in good mood. I told her they will show up at her work tomorrow, and her daughter came back today from a summer with family. They are both sitting naked in the house watching TV, she says, because it is so hot, haha. I think they won't do that if I am there. But then I turn on her AC and leave it on all day, and just leave some cash for all the electricity. Ok I am rambling again...

I use these guys for China delivery, with very good results and the flowers seem to last a long time. http://www.flora2000.com/index.asp

Okay, Doug! Next up is the Ghost Festival on Aug. 23. (lunar month 7, day 15) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Festival.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is Sept. 19 through Sep. 21 (lunar month 8, day 15 through 17), and PRC National Day on Oct. 1.

We already have a pinned topic on official holidays - I'll try to add something on the more general observances. But most of them follow the lunar calendar, so the date observed can vary from year-to-year.

Doug, I have a built in calendar of sorts for Chinese hollardayz. My lil' big boss rolls over in the morning on Chinese hollardayz and sez, "hey Bubba, today is a Chinese hollarday, you need to buy me gift today". I don't have to remember nuthin' to stay out of trouble, and hollarday correct. I jes roll over on top of her, give her a tickle, and later, go buy her somethin' MADE IN CHINA. Only thing I've found made in America was a plastic watering can for flowers. She done got tired of those after the 5th one.

I'll try and remind you of the Chinartuckian hollardayz as Wenyan announces them to me. No fuss, no muss, no stinkin' calender to mess up yore day.

Glad to hear all is well with you and yore lady. You is DA MAN, DouGgiE.
