  15. The plane tickets are bought and the hotel is booked... we're going to - you guessed it - a place that features what my girl likes best: seafood. Tourist trap China vicinity of Xiamen. Flying into the 9th largest airport in the PRC, the international hub at Xiamen, we will proceed to dally on the island and shore of Southern China. What to do there? Well there are some things but I have to admit that this kind of trip is not exactly my dream destination. But museums, aquarium, historic spots, shopping and eating streets, plus the inevitable night cruises will fill our six day jaunt and surely empty our thin pockets. It is a honeymoon of sorts. I'll take one for the team and scheme how to get a nature trip in another time. Meanwhile I read up on some stuff to see there. Has anyone else hit this spot?

  19. The link was posted earlier this year to beautiful and natural China. Well we have decided to start with the Li River and sights near Guilin on our Spring Festival holiday trip... don't forget the back of that 20RMB note: http://images.travelpod.com/users/loisal99/1.1262202213.li-river-on-back-of-20-rmb-note.jpg Has anyone been there? Any tips?
  20. Silly me, I scheduled my next trip to China during Spring Festival thinking that it would be a great time to get to know Hong's family better. I should have checked with her first (I'm a slow learner I guess) because she tells me that spending time with her family during Spring Festival would not be a good idea as she is afraid that I would be subject to attempts to make me appear foolish. Now we need to find a place where we can spend time together and be some distance from her family (Note to self; ALWAYS check with Hong first on any matters concerning family or China). So I'm looking to my fellow CFLer's for advice on where to go! I'm thinking someplace warm, but any place where we can be together and have a few sights to visit and not be freezing or wading through knee deep snow would do. Keep in mind that it will be Spring Festival. We want to avoid massive crowds as much is possible during that time so we can enjoy our limited time together. Thanks
  21. Hope you all have a good holiday!
