This years best came from Dodge Ram remembering Paul Harvey and a tribute he did to farmers. Now I know that farmers exist in every country on the planet, but this is a look at the American Farmer. Much of the American way of life was centered agriculture and it really wasn't until the 20th century that it changed. In my opinion, this was the best add during the game. http://youtu.be/AMpZ0TGjbWE 3 Link to comment
Doug
Pretty good. I missed the game until I dropped by my cousin's to see the end. Link to comment
dnoblett
Great ad, for many the reason to watch the game are all the great ads. Madison Ave pulls out all the stops when producing ads for the game. 1 Link to comment

I was so caught up in Paul Harvey's words I failed to see....or care what thead was about....lol I'm like that though, the better the ad, the more chance I'll have no clue what it was about.Like Dan, if nothing else, the Super Bowl ads are worth watching. Sometimes I watch the 1/2 time too. Not this year though. I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill and listened to Joe Walsh's James Gang Thirds Link to comment
dnoblett
A few years ago I would catch the ads after the game on adcritic.com now http://creativity-online.com/ since then YouTube took over, and for a few years you could find a page on YouTube covering them, not seeing a dedicated YouTube page upon quick visit to that site. Mick
I really liked that ad honoring the farmer. It wasn't until right at the end when the Ram truck appeared. Although I didn't always agree with him, Paul Harvey was an American treasure. He even did a radio piece on this little town I live in, and not too flattering either. One of the local titty bars entered a float in the annual Christmas parade, creating quite a scandal when the "elves" started disrobing on Main Street. Of course, all the guys were craning their necks to get a better view, while the mothers all tried to cover the children's eyes. It made the national news and a week later, Paul Harvey went off on this little hamlet and its decadent practices. 1 Link to comment
dnoblett
Here is an ad that did not make it on to the air during the Superbowl. Can you guess why? http://youtu.be/68al-o2XSpE 1 Link to comment

Interesting if anyone will opt to buy their own cola soda making machine vs. buying Coke or Pepsi. Link to comment
Dennis143
This morning's CNN talking head was very upset that her 5 and 7 year olds were exposed to this commercial with the model and the nerd "french kissing"... Link to comment

I didn't need to bring a thing. I had to cancel at the last min because felt so dang sick Sunday, and slept through most of the game, hearing the 3rd and 4th quarter on the radio and last 2 min at cousins TV. Link to comment
Feathers268
This morning's CNN talking head was very upset that her 5 and 7 year olds were exposed to this commercial with the model and the nerd "french kissing"... I thought it was awkward, but was fine. I'm curious, were there upset with the kiss itself or the partisipants. I'd bet both kids have seen plenty of kissing, but only from beautiful people. Zeng
The kid who was told to go and get a "team" for a pickup football game was a good one, though I forgot what the advertisement was! Link to comment

ameriken
When this Jeep ad ran during halftime, I was riveted to the TV with sweaty eyes. The music was the main theme "Honor" from HBO's "The Pacific". One of the best ads I've ever seen, and it wasn't about selling cars. Good for Jeep! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolFEcPiHFk Edited February 6, 2013 by ameriken (see edit history) 1 Link to comment
