bingtian
I did not see any post for IR 5 type visa. My case just completed at NVC and waiting for the inteview for my parents. So what is the average time frame? Any kind of question I should be aware of? Any denial with the immigrant visa application at all? Thank you for any response in advance. Link to comment
dnoblett
Time-frame from NVC to Consulate is the same as a spousal visa. If you elected to do electronic processing at NVC it is fairly quick. If you did not do electronic processing, the time-frame from NVC to consulate receive tends to be 3 months or so. Interview questions are fairly straight forward, they are not concerned with a bonafide relationship as in spousal visa cases. Link to comment
bingtian
If I did not choose electronic filing since the beginning and the case is now completed, can I request for the filing now? Thanks Link to comment

ThanksNope, needs to be done when you get the first notice from NVC, since it is case complete at NVC, the case is on it's way to China by the normal method, which can take up to 3 months or so to be received by the consulate, after that and you should receive P-4 from consulate with interview date. bingtian
Thanks for the information. I guess I am too late for the electronic filing now. I just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. Thanks again. Link to comment
