My parents just received their interview date (1/28/2010) and I learned my lesson for not filling electronically. My other friend started the process after me but his parents got the inteview date on 11/3/09, so you can see the time frame difference. Lesson learned here, electronic processing is a must. If you're applying for both parents then you do need both birth cerfiticates. Hope this helps. Good luck!

My parents' package (through DHL) was delivered to Guangzhou on 10/19/09 and I keep calling DOS and finally today I got the news that the package/information was received by Guangzhou on Dec 7. What is the general time frame for my parents to receive the interview date? Thank you in advance for any feedback. Waiting sucks!!!

I am now confused... I send all original or certified copies of everything with DS 230 packages, so now if they ask another set, what should I do? I did not pick electronic filing since the beginning, and their DHL packages contained all originals/certified copies were delivered today to Guangzhou embassy. Please advise. Thank you much!

Even though you applied for your mother and father, you only need to pay one $70 for the fee and the other case number will show up as paid once cleared. Hope this helps.

I was not very smart since the beginning of the process and did not choose electronic process. Now my case is completed and NVC just told me that the packages was shipped out yesterday, so how can I determine the tracking number? Thanks

NVC shipped out my parents' IR 5 packages today. Is there anyway to check it? What happens next? Guangzhou Embassy will notify my parents or myself by e-mail or letter? I saw other posts it normally will take up to 3 months to receive the interview notice, correct? Anyone had same experience with similar situation? Thank you very much.

I did not see any post for IR 5 type visa. My case just completed at NVC and waiting for the inteview for my parents. So what is the average time frame? Any kind of question I should be aware of? Any denial with the immigrant visa application at all? Thank you for any response in advance.
