Richard & Li
thanks , have read many horror story's about this topic Same here. I was worried the first time. But, my job requires that I always take a laptop to China. I've never had any hint of a problem.

Richard & Li
Things like: Laptops being seized in customs (either inbound or outbound) and the owner detained while the hard drive was analyzed. Contraband being found (the stories are usually, political material, religious material, or porn). Then, the owner being imprisoned in China. True or False? Who knows? You know, I just Googled the heck out of this trying to find a link to one of those 'stories'. I couldn't find a single one regarding Chinese customs. I'll call the myth 'busted'. It seems as though it's much riskier going through American or Canadian customs. But, for us (who've been dealing with them) that is probably no surprise.
