rogerluli Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 The flame is out...gridlock and smog are back...the protest zones... are history...Hopefully the century of humiliation for China at the hands of foreign powers is over and they have arrived on the world stage as an equal with every other nation...But internally things are nor necessarily so rosy with the tainted milk scandal and the deaths caused by the mine waste dump collapse... The next big question seems to be how bad the economy will get with the global slowdown affecting most every nation...Kind of a synopsis of these thoughts follows...And as the Paralympics are also now over I hope everyone got to watch at least some of the events...For me watching people high jumping over 2 meters on their one leg said volumes about the capacity of the human spirit to go on through anything... http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jCbFTXU...bPiRFAD938JNDG0 Link to comment

The participants of the Paralympics showed the world that their not handicapped. Too bad it wasn't broadcast by the US media, the events were so much better in many ways than the Olympics.
