Chinese dairy knew milk fault weeks before recall

My wife told me about the bad powered milk over 1 year ago. She wanted me to bring some from the USA last time I went to China, which I did. Now how is it we are just learning this from the news when my wife knew about this a long time ago??

China has to get past the safety issues with it's products before it can move on to make bigger and better things. Who will want to fly in a Chinese built airliner until the world has confidence in the products that China makes?

As the "world" remains preoccupied with China's growth pains, China continues to move forward, one giant leap at a time. Thousands of Chinese tourists travel every single day on Chinese built and piloted airliners. China has always seen itself as the Center of the world, and that which lies outside it, are the other folks.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall...

Ah I was wondering if you had "noticed" this thread at all Jesse... :D

It seems that this huge example of the most outrageously greedy behavior by hundreds of people up and down the supply ladder and many Chinese companies which has killed and sickened Chinese babies has now been reduced to "growth pains"...

You might double check that statement on the Chinese built airliners :)

Well Mikey that poster is known for shooting from the hip and worrying about the actual facts later...

But they are working on home-grown airliners in China... :)

China is now promising a full investigation of it's dairy industry. China MUST get past these safety issues if the products that are made there will be accepted worldwide. The issues of poisoned pet food, lead paint in toys and now melamine tainted milk will hound China for years. If they don't nip this in the bud, the reputation of unsafe products from China may dog them for decades. (puns intended  )

China takes this issue VERY seriously. Recent checks show milk and milk-products free of contaminants. All stores post signs stating that their milk is clean. The US has had its share of food and drug scares, and quickly recovered from them. No doubt, China will do the same.

In response to your question (or comment??), China tested both liquid and dry milk products.
