Consulate fees

Recommended Posts

Since being delayed for such a long time the consulate raised their fees, as we all know. It seemed unfair to have to pay for the visa again but this is the response I got from Hays via the Info Team.

Please be advised that the fee schedule for K and V visas changed in

December 2002.  As a result, anyone who applied under previous fee schedules

will need to pay the difference, regardless of the reason for the time

difference between applying for the visa and picking up the visa.

Has this been applied uniformly to others?

Also, is a second medical exam needed if she enters the US before the first exam expires?

Is it true that the Chinese embassy in D.C. doesnt accept visa applicatons by mail anymore?....wow!

To my knowledge, none do anymore...since April 1st (or May 1st). A travel agent is happy to do it for you, you can hire a visa service for about $35, have someone you know take it in for you or do it yourself. Mail in is no more. ;)

Maaannn!...what bad news!

I don't mind the increase in fees but to lose such a convenience as mail-in is a pity.

There's another one of our simple freedoms gone by the wayside.

***Where does it all end???*** <_<
