Overcome Question

Recommended Posts

I just called DOS on an update of my case. DOS specialist said that GUZ received my overcome documents but need to call to come back. She said it is GUZ language, they either call or mail she doesn't understand.

Anyone who have similar situation please let me know.

I am a little worry here, I don't know if that mean that GUZ want my wife to come back for a visa or other issues, and again we are still waiting for info from GUZ. Our overcome package send out July 24 and GUZ received it on the 26th according to EMS.

We just received our notice and "call" is a confusing term from GUZ.

Here is the text of the message I received from GUZ when I emailed them about the status of our overcome.

Dear Mr. French,

Please be advised that we have sent a call-in letter to your fiancee last week

via EMS service with tracking number EX2604#####CN. In the letter your fiancee

is informed to come back the Consulate to proceed her case.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou

Notice the term "call-in letter". On Monday she received the letter by EMS with instructions to return with her passports.

She is going to GUZ in a couple hours. The letter stated that the passports must be dropped off Monday through Wednessday between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00PM. That is a tiny window. I did not get a copy of her notice, but that is what she said. Just keep an eye out for similar restrictions.

Wait for the letter. You have to take it with you.

Hey - there'll be a visa in it when she gets it back - Congratulations!

I guess no consideration is given to the fact, that some have to travel a long way to go back to Guz at a relatively big expense,...ie, transportation, food, lodging.... silly me, i thought maybe someone would even care.

Hmmm? Consideration and the visa process. What a novel concept.

I guess that was a stupid thought
