75 days still no NOA1

Recommended Posts

well its 75 days still no NOA1,in fact USCIS has no idea where my petition is (until they open and cash check) And they say it may be another 60 days before they get to septembers files.unbelieveable,at this point i am now writing my congressman,i don't know what he can do,it is just absurd. Well anyway it is late at night and i'm just blowin' off some steam.

WOW thats absurb ;) , have they cashed your check ? do you have proof of delivery ?

If not I would suggest you think about re-filing, if you do how about writing to the USCIS ombusdsman.

Sorry to hear its gone this bad. ;)

wow.....75 days and still no noa1.....there is definately a problem there....you have send to them registered mail?...something so important as this should definately be sent registered mail....hope you have copies of everything....

When USCIS cashes his check, that is the sure sign they have it. That is the first thing that happens in the mailroom when received

Copies yes, always have copies of everything.

Blowing off steam, I have done my share too.

I remember going through it and watching on VJ the Vermont filers getting NOA2 in 10 days and the interview in less than 3 months from filing!

I-130's for the most part always seem to take the longest, I do not know why.

Have you signed up for automatic email from USCIS? Maybe the NOA1 is only lost in the mail, check somehow is cashed but routed to a different bank number. At least log on and see where you are at this stage.

All good ideas........

If you look at my time line, it took them almost 30 some days to cash my check! Mine went from Nebraska to CSC, then I had to call several times to get my NOA1. Then did not get the NOA1 until almost June...

I also did sign up to get e-mails, they do e-mail when something happens! ;)

Wanted to use this thread as a sounding board. Is an Info Pass possible at this point of time? I know that to set up Yin's appointments, I needed her entry number.

I know that access to the computers at AOS sites, will show "electronic footprints" of all stages when K1 or K3 is applying. What I don't know is if the initial 129 or 130 is submitted by a petitioner is "traceable." I know during AOS processing every one of the steps Yin and I took, was registered electronically, w/date and even the Visa packet/folder from the depository in St Louis had the original envelopes I had sent.

Could Jimi get access to one of the terminals and have an USCIS AOS officer help him?

Sorry if the question sounds absurd. Just attempting to think outside of the box!

If the checks not cashed and no WAC # then USCIS will have no record, info pass wont work , its a local office thing and have to have a file #, I suggest refile, sorry.

Yeah thanks.

I wasn't sure when the tracing process starts; at the exchange of monies, or when the initial application came into the system.

Seems that the process would start upon initial application. In this way there wouldn't be untraceable loose monies floating around with some traceable paperwork to coonect the money to. That was the reason that I brought up the example of my original 129 and 130 envelopes. Visa folder even had them when Yin and I went to AOS office. The electronic footprints were a surprise to me. The even had a telephone record enclosed.

Sort of resembled George Orwell's "1984!" After all until SOs are in the states we are all "unperson(s)" :D

If sent registered you have the name of the person who signed for it!! :plane:

During my search for a receipt, I finally got a real person, they knew the minute it got there, and where it was when I called. I would call and get a supervisor, at least try before I started over!! :(

yeah tomorrow I will once again call them, maybe i will have better luck.

i mean it wouldn't be so bad if I at least know it is in the computer, and my file now technically exists. It is just extremely frustrating when some immigration officer on the other end,and i had a few that were actually very nice, but not helpful, say "sir we really don't know where your petition is !",infact all they do is look on the website, and i feel like saying...well dah....i can do do that.Tell me something i don't already know.

Well i called today USCIS,God must be looking down on me today, because i got a hold of them right away,i didn't have to wait 35 minutes like the last time.I got a hold of a real nice officer, and was very helpful, still doesn't know where it is.But he took my name,my wifes name date of birth, all kinds of info....who signed for it at Texas center, and he is going to do a trace on my petition,I am not the only one,the guy actually said he's had hundreds of these calls concerning I-130 petitions. So i am hopeing for a good outcome,I want to be skeptical, maybe he's just trying to appease me,because i guess they document when you call, because he knew i had called twice before. So we will see,i am being optimistic.
